Apple Breakfast Puffs
Total preparation time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 6Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1/8 dash Nutmeg
- 1 cup skim milk
- 4 apples, peeled and chopped
- to taste pinch Cinnamon and sugar
- sprinkle powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoon butter
- 3/4 cup Maple or Apple Syrup
- 3/4 cup Maple or Apple Syrup
Steps:
- Beat eggs, add flour, nutmeg, and milk. Mix until blended (batter will still be a little lumpy.)
- In separate bowl combine apples, cinnamon and sugar to taste.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Put one tablespoon of butter in each of the 6 au gratin dishes and place in the hot oven. Allow butter to melt and dishes to get very hot (5 to 10 minutes).
- Remove from oven and pour 1/2 cup batter into each of the dishes. Top with fruit mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes, until golden and puffy.
- Dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with maple or apple syrup.
