General Information

Our 23rd year of providing intimate accommodations to Charleston's most knowledgeable guests!

A small 9 room inn owned and operated by two artists, the 1837 Bed and Breakfast / Tea Room features open piazzas, rockers, and Southern hospitality. Share and enjoy our intimate accommodations in a circa 1800 cotton planter's home and brick carriage house. All of our rooms are individually furnished and decorated with canopied poster beds, antiques, period pieces, local artwork, and oriental rugs. Featured on the History and Travel Channels.

We are centrally located in Charleston's Historic District. Enjoy walking to the old market, antique shops, boat tours, restaurants, main attractions, and the finest dining in Charleston. The beaches and plantations are easily accessible, and concierge services are provided. Our full gourmet breakfast, served in the formal dining room or the outside piazza, features such specialties as sausage pie, raspberry French toast, ham frittata with mornay sauce, and home baked breads.
