General InformationMountain Brook Cottages are circa 1930's FIREPLACE cottages in a scenic mountain setting criss-crossed with brooks to delight you and no phones or TV's to disturb you. Enjoy exploring the Great Smokies and Blue Ridge Parkway, riding the Great Smoky Railway, shopping in nearby Dillsboro and Maggie Valley or taking in Asheville's Biltmore Estate. And now, with the new casino in Cherokee, you will discover the thrills of non-stop action and entertainment. Enjoy outdoor activities like white water rafting, tubing, photography and hiking, horseback riding. Then come home and relax in our woodland spa and sauna bungalow by the brook. "The world's at ease, here ends your quest-for quietude and peace and rest". Taking I-26 north to Asheville, intersect with I-40 heading west. Exit at #27 (Waynesville, 19/23/74). Stay on 23/74 when 19 veers off to right toward Maggie Valley. Exit at #81 (Dillsboro). Go straight through light in Dillsboro a total of 9 miles. Turn right at Mountain Brook sign and drive back 2/10 mile to office.
Innkeepers- Innkeeper(s): Gus, Michele and daughter Maqelle McMahon
Gus and Michele along with their two young daughters moved from south Florida to the mountains in 1979 and purchased Mountain Brook. Gus retired from the Hollywood Florida Police Department after 11 years and tackled the much needed property repairs. He loves rock hunting and exploring the area lakes. They both enjoy fishing. Michele was a volunteer at the elementary school for a remedial reading program. She and Maqelle are responsible for the unique decorating in each cottage. - The innkeepers speak: English
