General Information

BLAKE HOUSE INN, originally "Newington", was built c.1847. Surrounded by 150 year old pine and sycamore trees, this fine example of Italianate architecture with Gothic Revival influence will bring you back in time to the more relaxed atmosphere of the 1800's. Our Inn is minutes away from the BILTMORE ESTATE and the entrance to the BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY and provides easy access to all other WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA attractions. Conveniently located in the HISTORIC ROYAL PINES AREA, 1847 BLAKE HOUSE INN was one of the beautiful summer homes built by wealthy low-landers to take advantage of the cool summer breezes in the mountains of North Carolina. 1847 BLAKE HOUSE INN boasts of 22" thick granite walls, 12' high ceilings, and five spacious guestrooms all with private baths. The Carriage House has a lovely Guest Suite for families of up to 6 (scheduled to open 5/06). Our guests awaken to the aroma of freshly baked breads and muffins, which will accompany their artistically presented fruit plates. • Deposit amount required (One night deposit for 1-2 nights. 50% deposit for longer stays , packages, and groups (3 or more rooms).)
• Closed: We are closed for two weeks in January.
• Check in time is 3:00 PM and Check out time is 11 AM
• Cancellations:
  7 day cancellation policy. If cancellation is made with 7 or more days, any deposit received will be refunded minus a $25.00 handling fee. Cancellation made with less than 7 days notice will not receive a refund of deposit. 14 day cancellation policy for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

Continue 1 mile to first traffic light. Turn left onto Royal Pines Drive. Go one block, turn left into parking lot from Biltmore estate. Go straight out of the estate (Mc Donalds on your left and Exxon on right). Continue straight through traffic light and continue for 6 1/2 miles to traffic light at royal pines drive (Exxon station on far right corner). Turn right onto royal pines drive. Go one block, turn left into parking lot. From Blue Ridge parkway exit us 25 south (Hendersonville road). Follow 25 through Skyland. Pass Black Forest restaurant, Arden Presbyterian church and at the next traffic light (bp on right, sagebrush on left). Turn left onto Royal Pines drive. Go 3 1/2 blocks and turn right into parking lot.

  Leslie Kimball purchased the 1847 BLAKE HOUSE INN and moved there in January 2006, after spending 8 years in Orlando, Florida in the human resources field. Leslie grew up around the Washington, DC suburbs and enjoys many types of exercise, as well as crafting.
