Cranberry Bread
Total preparation time: 1 1/2 hour
Serves: 10Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1 cup halved raw cranberries
- 1/2 cup broken pecans
Steps:
- Cream shortening and sugar, add egg. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with orange juice . Stir in cranberries and nuts.
- Bake in greased bread pan or two tea loaf pans at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour. Recipe can be easily doubled.
- Try sliced, toasted and topped with vanilla ice cream. Also good with cream cheese. Yummy dessert, breakfast or dinner bread.
