General InformationNEWPORT HOUSE is Williamsburg's most historically authentic place to stay. It was built to museum standards in 1988 from the design of a 1756 plantation mansion(now lost), and is furnished totally in the period. Each air conditioned room can sleep 3 people in extra-long queen and twin canopied beds, with private bathrooms, and video players with extensive collection of 18th-century films. Full breakfasts often include colonial recipes. Located only 500 yards from Historic Area. Colonial dancing in our Ballroom every Tuesday evening year round - beginners welcomed.
