General Information

Merry Sherwood Plantation - a step back in time. From the moment you enter the grounds through handsomely detailed gates you will feel like you have returned to the mid 1800's. You will find stately hand carved furnishings and grand chandeliers. Mr. Kirk Burbage bought this Italianate Revival mansion in 1990, and opened his B&B in 1992 after extensive renovation. Built in 1859, it covers 8,500 square feet, 9 fire places and is completely decorated and furnished in authentic Victorian style. We are located only two and one half hours from Washington D.C. and Baltimore Md. A short drive to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life to the tranquility that Merry Sherwood has to offer.

From points south: From the Bay Bridge Tunnel in Virginia Beach follow Rt. 113 North for approximately 120 miles and we are located on the left side of the road. Proceed past us and do a u-turn and then turn right.
