General InformationThe Wayside Inn is an historic Bed and Breakfast nearby historic Ellicott City, the site of the first railway station in the United States. The Inn is within minutes of art galleries, museums, antique shops and award winning restaurants. It is a short hop to downtown Baltimore or to catch the Metro into exciting Washington, D.C., with all those cities have to offer. Yet the Wayside Inn is safely located in the tranquil hills of Ellicott City on two acres of landscaped property, with a beautiful pond amid mature trees(one White Oak certified to have been standing at the signing of the U.S Constitution)and stunning gardens. In the past few months the owners have completely renovated the second floor adding private baths with Jacuzzi style tubs to some rooms and adding a brand new Luxury suite. A delicious breakfast dish with hand sliced egg challah bread which has been soaked in a mixture of eggs, cream, and orange liqueur. It is served piping hot with an Orange Rum Sauce to pour over the top. We usually accompany this with a smoked chicken and apple sausage. A guest favorite at the Wayside Inn!
Policies- No minimum stay required
- Smoking is allowed outside only
- We cannot accommodate guest pets
- Limitations on children staying (Children age 3 and older are charged at the same rate as ad)
- No childcare is provided
- Consumption of alcohol is permitted (Wine and cheese upon prior request)
- Deposit amount required (A one night deposit is required upon booking your stay. We accept Visa, Mastercard or American Express for the deposit.)
- Check in time is 4:00 PM to 8 PM and Check out time is 11:00 AM
- Cancellations:
One night deposit required upon reservation. A seventy-two hour cancellation notice is required for a full refund; A one week cancellation notice is required for all major holidays or for special events for full refund. If arriving after 8:00PM or later than you told us you will arrive, please let us know so we can make arrangements to greet you properly - Accepted by the following agencies:

How to Get to the Wayside Inn: The Wayside Inn is located at 4344 Columbia Road. It is conveniently located in Ellicott City, between Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. From the North (I-95) Take 95 South to 100 West. Exit at US 29 South(a left exit) drive south one exit to Route 108 West (21B-Clarksville.) After exiting, stay toward the right and take your first right (at a stoplight-Columbia Road). Drive 1.5 miles to 4344 Columbia Road. The Inn is on your left. From the North (I-695) Take 695 South to I-70 West. Drive west two exits, to US 29South, a left exit. Drive south four exits to Route 108 West (Exit21B-Clarksville). After exiting take your first right (at a stoplight-Columbia Road). Drive 1.5 miles to 4344 Columbia Road. The Inn is on your left. From the South Take 95 North to 100 West. Follow airport exit to I95 South(Washington). Go to Route 100 West(Ellicott City) and exit. Go approximately 5 1/2 miles to where Rt. 100 dead-ends at Rt. 29. Exit LEFT onto Rt. 29 south. On Rt. 29, move to the right to exit at Rt. 108 West (exit 21B). Go 1 block to the first traffic light and turn right onto Columbia Road. Go 1 1/2 miles to the Inn on your left. Look for a large black country size mailbox with our address, 4344, and a white lamppost at the front of the Driveway. Our sign is currently under review by the local govenment, so it is not up. - Meeting places:
