General Information

The Society Hill Hotel and Bar/Restaurant is a quaint little inn on the corner of 3rd and Chestnut at the nexus of historic Philadelphia. Many nearby attractions attest to the city's role as America's birthplace, including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross House and the National Constitution Center. Our hotel, built in 1832, once served as temporary housing for longshoremen from all over the world. With only twelve rooms, we are small and unique, assuring all of our guests a pleasant stay.

Make a right at Callowhill Street, then make a left at 6th Street. ***From New York/New Jersey via Ben Franklin Bridge: At the end of the bridge, follow traffic towards Independence Mall and make a left on 6th Street. ***From Pittsburgh/Cleveland/Chicago/Western US via I-76 East: Exit I-76 at turn-on to I-676 East/US 30 East. The ramp will be on your left and the turn is very sharp, so follow with caution. Exit I-676 East at the Independence Mall/Ben Franklin Bridge exit. As you exit, turn right on 6th Street. ***From all points: Follow 6th Street along Independence Mall and then make a left at Chestnut Street. At 3rd and Chestnut Streets, the Society Hill Hotel will be on your left.

  (From I-95 North:) Take I-95 North towards Central Philadelphia. Exit I-95 on the left side of the highway at I-676 East/US 30 East (Exit 22). Coming on to I-676, follow the signs to the exit for Callowhill Street/Ben Franklin Bridge. After about a half-mile, exit onto Callowhill Street. From Callowhill, immediately turn left onto 6th Street. Follow 6th Street along Independence Mall and then make a left at Chestnut Street. At 3rd and Chestnut Streets, the Society Hill Hotel will be on your left.
