Ligonier Country Inn

  • Inn Details

The Ligonier Country Inn is the perfect place for putters, punters, cross-country skiers, fishing enthusiasts, and couch potatoes too. Situated in the heart of golf country, The Ligonier Country Inn provides an almost spa-like atmosphere for its guests: plenty of activity for those who want it; serenity for those who don't. Innkeepers P.J. and Maggie Nied pride themselves on fostering a laid-back atmosphere and welcoming visitors as friends rather than clients.

We had a room in the Shafer house. Porch in entry way very musty smell. Room was old but Ok except for the smell in the bathroom. We kept smelling Urine and told the desk, said they would take care of it, we went out came back smelled like bleach and when that went away the smell came back. Found the source of the smell ourselves (I won't go into details told the desk again, and they couldn't understand because they clean very well) Went out came back and it was cleaned up but the smell remained! Dust on the ceiling fan. Not offered another room and not compensated in any way for our discomfort. Also the breakfast was not that great, have gotten better at hotels.

    Innkeeper Response
I am sorry this lady did not like her room. We are under renovations on that front porch and still waiting for delivery of new windows and flooring. No one could find the source of the "smell" that she only smelt. We take great pride of our cleanliness of our rooms. Someone had rented the room you were in for the past two months and I am sorry the cleaning girl did not see the dust on the ceiling fan. If she wanted another room would have been happy to move them, but like I said no one could smell what she smelled.

My wife and I and another couple spent two nights at the Ligonier Country Inn. The rooms were very adequate, comfortable, clean and with the required amenities. The pleasant surprise was in the restaurant, especially the Sunday Brunch. Don't forget to visit the Pie Shoppe across the street. The highlight was the congeniality and helpfullness of the staff, particularly the very fun owners, Maggie and PJ. We would certainly return to this Inn

My wife, Julie and I spent July 3rd and 4th of this year at The Ligonier Country Inn and couldn't have been more pleased! The facilities were beautiful, with comfotable and well appointed rooms, a welcoming Dining Room and Bar, and a great and spotless pool. Maggie and P.J. and their staff were very friendly and attentive, making us feel more like family than merely guests. I would heartily recommend the Inn to anyone coming to the Laurel Highlands area.
