General InformationA luxury bed and breakfast on a secluded estate just a half hour from Pittsburgh, the Sun & Cricket offers peace and solitude in two nature-inspired suites appointed with comfort, style and convenience in mind, including wi-fi, satellite HDTVs, down comforters, fireplaces and dry bars. Accommodations are in a log cabin and a carriage house, which looks out over lush horse pastures. Guests may enjoy the in-ground outdoor pool, in-room massages and marked hiking trails following a three-course gourmet breakfast that mines the bounty of the estate's orchards and gardens. The cozy log cabin features three levels connected by a spiral staircase. The first level offers an Adirondack-inspired living room and library with atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows, skylights, wood-burning fireplace, extensive audiobook/book collection and free Internet access. The staircase connects to an upper level and master bedroom with king-sized featherbed, down comforters and designer linens, shower room and separate powder room with cobalt blue-glazed sink thrown by a local potter. The staircase also connects to a lower level with two twin beds, a full bath with handmade cherry cabinetry and another private entrance.
The carriage house is about 500 feet from the main house and log cabin, surrounded by verdant fields and overlooking the horse pasture. A private porch welcomes visitors to sit and relax. Inside, the airy, sunny space is highlighted by a roomy sitting area with fireplace, a queen-size pencil-post bed and a renovated bathroom with an air tub and shower
