Thomas Welsh Shortbread Cookies
Total preparation time: 15 minutes
Serves: 10Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/8 cup cornstarch
Steps:
- Cream the butter and sugar. Add the flour, cornstarch and blend until smooth. Knead the dough for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into desired shape...small triangles or rectangles. Score all cookies with a fork.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, then 300 degrees for 12 minutes or until they are very slightly golden. Watch that they don't get too brown.
