Melt Away Cookies
Total preparation time: 1-1/2 hourIngredients:
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/3 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 tablespoon Almond extract
- 2 teaspoons half and half
- 1 drop red food coloring (to make a pale pink frosting)
Steps:
- Mix first 4 ingredients. Form into 1-inch balls, use flour to handle. Makes 36 cookies. Indent thumbprint. Refrigerate for 1 hour
- Bake 350 degrees for 15-17 minutes. Cookies should be a pale color with only a ting of color on the bottom of the cookie. Let cool.
- For Frosting: Cream 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 1 cup confectioners sugar, 1 tablespoon almond extract, 2 teaspoons half and half and 1 drop of red food coloring. Ice each cookie with a star decorating tip. Enjoy!
