~Day One: Tour of Hildene – The Robert Todd Lincoln Estate
Abraham Lincoln’s descendants lived until 1975 in this 24-room Georgian Revival Mansion. The interior of the home has been preserved intact with original furnishings and personal family effects. Explore formal gardens, many of the original plantings remain.
~Explore the Historic Village of Manchester. Stroll down the marble sidewalks enjoy specialty shops & the outlets of Manchester Center.
~Day Two: Park-McCullough Historic House – This 1865, Second Empire “summer cottage” is one of the finest Victorian Mansions in New England. . The beautiful grounds feature a playhouse, rose gardens and a Carriage Barn with a collection of horse drawn carriages, buggies & sleighs.
~Visit The Bennington Battle Monument – The monument was built to commemorate the Revolutionary War Battle of Bennington. Completed in 1891, the monument stands 306 feet tall. From the observatory level, (reached by elevator), you can see Vermont, New York and Massachusetts.

Experience and Discover True Vermont with “Backroad Discovery Tours.” You’ll get close up and personal with abandoned marble quarries, working farms, quaint one-of –a kind hamlets, historic registered places, local artisans, an alpaca plantation and much more. Since their unique touring vehicles are limited to 6 to 8 passengers, you will have a chance to ask questions of personal interest and take personal photo shots as well.
The following day, we’ll set you off with a picnic basket and directions for a beautiful drive through the Green Mountains of the National Forest. There’ll be plenty of great hiking spots along the way for you to enjoy if you wish, as well as great scenic views. Perhaps you’ll picnic on a large sunny rock next to the Roaring Branch River or at Grout Pond with a quiet spot for you to gaze out over the calm reflective waters.

Sylvester's Study is located in the Main House just off the Parlor. This lovely room offers a Queen Canopy Bed with a Sitting Area and Gas Fireplace. The sofa can be pulled out to accommodate two extra guests if needed. From Sylvester's you can step out onto your own private porch where you'll enjoy hanging baskets of flowers and comfortable rocking chairs just waiting for you!
Rebecca's Retreat is located on the ground floor in our Carriage House and offers a beautiful four poster queen size bed. There's a cozy sitting area in front of the gas fireplace and in the summer you'll also enjoy your own private patio.Marshall's offers a King Bed with a great sitting area and gas fireplace. The sofa can be pulled out to a twin bed if needed for an extra person. This room is located on the second floor of our Carriage House.
