General Information

The Canterbury House is located in the picturesque Village of Woodstock, Vermont. Inspired by the impressive concentration and continuity of late 18th an 19th century architecture, National Geographic Magazine called the village one of the most beautiful in America. The home we invite you into is an 1880 Victorian townhouse that has been completely restored to offer modern comfort combined with historic authenticity. Standards for historic preservation have been followed in renovating The Canterbury House for use as a tourist home. The house is furnished with Period antiques, but is not a museum set piece. It is our intention that it reflect fine craftsmanship and beautiful surroundings combined with the warmth and hospitality reminiscent of a family homecoming.

  • Cancellations:
    In the event of a cancellation, deposits will be returned in full provided a 14 day notice is given. With less than 14 days, your deposit will be returned only if the room is re-rented. If re-rented the deposit will be returned less a $25 service charge. If you cancel within 48 hours you are responsible for the entire stay. Please note that our cancellation policy is a vital part of the management of a small inn.
