General Information

Enjoy the friendly, relaxed atmosphere, inviting front porch and cozy fireplace of our 1870's inn. 29 comfortable rooms with shared baths and 2 suites with private bath are furnished in antiques and most offer a lovely view of the ocean and/or meadow and lighthouse. Breakfast and dinner (high season only) are served in the dining room. Monhegan Island, 10 miles out to sea, is one and one-half miles long and one-half mile wide, covering about 700 acres. The eastern side of Monhegan has high cliffs that offer the visitor breathtaking views of sea and surf. The central part of the island provides miles of well-cared-for trails including Cathedral Woods, a must see for all visitors. From the western, or village side of Monhegan, one can see a beautiful harbor and nearby Manana Island while relaxing on Swim Beach. Monhegan offers the chance for visitors to see artists at work in their own studios. Most studios are open to the public and welcome viewing during scheduled hours. There is something for everyone on Monhegan. Trails and cliffs beckon you during the day. Monhegan's famous sunsets demand your attention in the evening. Relaxation is yours at any time. The birds of Monhegan are a major attraction in the Spring and Fall. Monhegan is an artist's dream and a photographer's reality. Come to Monhegan . . . you will not be disappointed.

• Cancellations:
  All deposits are refunded with a 21 day notice of cancellation, less a $20.00 per room cancellation fee. Otherwise, deposits are refunded only if room is re-rented. Suites have a 45 day notice of cancellation and a $50.00 per room cancellation fee. Group reservations require special handling. Please contact us to discuss our group booking policies.
