Inn Details
Away from the crowds, The Black Duck overlooks a spectacular harbor and open ocean beyond. Hike through the twelve acres and find hidden salt marshes and a tidal bay (great bird watching spot); curl up in front of a fireplace and read; find a sunny rock outcrop and watch the gulls or maybe a bald eagle soar overhead; pick blueberries; or just sit along the harbor and watch the lobster boats. The Inn is casually elegant with antiques and contemporary art. Each room is unique.

This place is very special. I stayed in the studio and I wish I could have stayed longer. Beautiful light, beautiful air and the views of the harbor are incredible. The studio had everything I needed and then some. I can't say enough. You have to like your peace and quiet. There are no nightclubs or even stores but bring what you want to eat and you will be refreshed and invigorated.
A piece of Maine we were looking for

We have vacationed in Maine each year for the past 12 years from Ste. Agatha to York Beach and from Rangeley to Lubec. Our stay in Corea in October, 2008 was our first. In many ways, it is a piece of Maine we had been hoping to find and finally did. We like that it is quiet and not "glitzy." It makes you relax and put the troubles of the world aside for a few days. Yet, in and nearby, there are wonderful sights to see. Our experience at the Black Duck Inn in October, 2008 was excellent. The Innkeepers were most helpful to us when we were planning our trip. Their location near the harbor is post-card perfect. Our accommodations were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was freshly done, ample and tasty. Best of all, Bob and Barry have hit the perfect balance of being good hosts: genuinely friendly, willing and easy to talk with but with a good sense of balance to not "smother" us with too much attention. We definitely plan to stay at Black Duck again next year and would give an unqualified recommendation of it to anyone. Pinky and Larry Daigre Ste Genevieve, MO
