General Information

Gracious. Comfortable. The Black Frair Inn is a uniquely restored Victorian home surrounded by a perennial flower garden. Mantels, bookcases, windows, & finely crafted woodwork from turn-of-the-century 'cottages' on Mount Desert Island shape every part of the Inn. Seven romantic guest rooms are tastefully furnished with period antiques. Fine linens dress your bed, soft carpets pamper your feet, and each room has a private bath. During the months of May, June & Sept, we offer professional guided trips on some of the most beautiful trout & salmon waters in the state of Maine.

• Consumption of alcohol is permitted (afternoon glass of wine offered)
• Deposit amount required (50% or 2 night minimum)
• Closed: mid-Oct to mid-May
• Check in time is 4:00-6:00 PM and Check out time is 11:00 am
• Cancellations:
  refund (less $25 fee) if cancelled at least 10 days prior or if your room is re-booked for entire stay.
