General Information

The Hawthorn House is a charming 1849 Nantucket home. It is centrally located in the historic core district of Nantucket Town, with easy access to fine dining and transportation to many fine beaches. We have seven guest rooms and a small cottage which can accommodate two people and a two-room suite which can sleep up to four people. The house is decorated with a blend of antiques and newer pieces, with an emphasis towards local art and craftworks. Each room has access to a small refrigerator--all have private baths and cable TV. A comfortable sitting room is provided for our guests. Guests of the Hawthorn House are offered a complimentary full breakfast daily at any of three local restaurants. Innkeepers Mitchell and Diane Carl strive to offer guests of the Hawthorn House a relaxed, pleasant and economical homebase from which to explore all that Nantucket has to offer.

    2 weeks prior to arrival deposit is returned less $10 service fee. With less than 2 weeks notice refund based upon re-rental of entire space, also a $10 service fee . Large group cancellation is 30 days.

    Mitchell and Diane Carl have wide-ranging interests. Both pursue artistic endeavors. Mitchell creates stained glass, lampshades and panels. He also builds models and is an avid volleyball player. The Carls own a 19-ft. daysailer and occasionally sneak away for a few hours in the afternoon to sail with their two children. Both Mitchell and Diane love to travel and often barter with other innkeepers.
