General Information

Originally built on the old Fort Oglethorpe military post for 2 cavalry captains and their families, this 1902 home is now a spacious inn with 7 rooms and 2 suites, decorated with antiques and period furniture. We are located next to Chickamauga Battlefield Park and just steps from the 6th Cavalry Museum, as well as minutes from downtown Chattanooga and area attractions. Rocking chair porches, a parlor and library welcome you to relax and meet new friends. Come enjoy our luxury rooms and fine dining in a peaceful, historic setting. At the bottom of the ramp turn right; this is Cloud Springs Road. Stay on this for about 6 ½ miles, until you come to a traffic light at Lafayette Road (Food Lion across the road). Turn left, and go to the 4th traffic light, which is Harker Road. Turn right, and at the stop sign turn left on Barnhardt Circle. We are at 13 Barnhardt Circle, the 7th house on the left. Please park in front of the house and come to the front door. ***From I-24/59 ( Birmingham & Nashville ) Proceed eastward on I-24 to the US 27 South (Rossville) exit (Exit 180B). At the bottom of the ramp continue south on US 27 approximately 5½ miles (following signs to Chickamauga Battlefield) to the intersection of GA Hwy 2 (you'll see a Blockbuster Video on the left). Proceed straight, passing Blockbuster Video, and go to the 3rd traffic light. At the traffic light, turn right onto Harker Road, and at the stop sign turn left on Barnhardt Circle. Innkeepers

• Innkeeper(s): Jim and Julie Powell
  Native Tennesseans, Jim and Julie lived 2 years in Germany where Jim served as an officer in the US Army. Upon returning to the States, they raised 4 daughters while Jim worked as a hotel architect/project manager. Jim and Julie later lived in Indonesia and Thailand for 7 years. While Jim pursued his career, Julie used the opportunity to study and collect southeast Asian textiles, many of which are displayed at Captain's Quarters.
