General Information

1889 WhiteGate Inn & Cottage is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and overlooks downtown Asheville and Blue Ridge Mountains. This charming Inn offers today's comforts with yesterday's ambiance. The Inn was a winner of the Griffin Award for restoration in 1997. The Inn is furnished with period antiques, fine furniture and collectibles. All rooms either have a private sitting room or a fireplace for your enjoyment. Our warm hospitality welcomes you in the gracious parlor. Refreshments await your arrival in our solarium or by the living room fireplace. Browse through the Greenhouse/conservatory filled with orchids and tropicals or wander through the exotically landscaped grounds with waterfalls and Koi ponds. A delightful gourmet breakfast served in the dining room. We are looking forward to making your stay a memorable one.

  • Consumption of alcohol is permitted
  • Deposit amount required (1 night's deposit or half of total reservation if longer than two nights.)
  • Check in time is 3 PM - 6 PM and Check out time is 11 AM
  • Cancellations:
    A deposit of one night's rate per room is required at the time of the reservation, for a one to three night stay; for four or more nights and special packages or events, 50% of the total is required at time of the reservation. Reservations made 14 days or less prior to arrival will be charged in full and are non-refundable. Deposits may be made by credit card, money order or personal check. If notification of a cancellation is received at least (14) days prior to the arrival date (30 days notice for certain special packages, events and the month of October), the deposit is refundable less a $35.00 cancellation fee per room. Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival will be charged the full amount of the reservation. Early departure falls with our cancellation policy. There are no refunds for early departure. We reserve the right to treat a partial cancellation as a cancellation for the entire stay.
