All rooms have private baths with modern amenities. Enjoy a five-minute walk to shops and restaurants, then return to the Inn and relax in the Tennessee rockers on the enormous front porch, with afternoon tea and homemade cookies. The Commander's Beach House is located right on a sandy beach near the Point Hudson Marina and within three blocks of the shops and restaurants in downtown Port Townsend. Hike our beach to Fort Worden and explore the Marine Science Center or visit the Point Wilson Lighthouse. A short stroll will bring you to the beautiful rose and seasonal gardens of Chetzemoka Park or the marina, filled with classic wooden boats. If you prefer, explore the tidepools on our beach at low tide, hunt for agates and wishing rocks or launch your kayak and paddle in to town. The Commander's Beach House is a Cape Cod style home built in 1934. Until 1955 it housed several commanding officers and their families that were stationed at the nearby medical facility. The Commander's Beach House has been an operational bed and breakfast for seven years and provides a relaxing escape for those who truly want to experience a home on the beach.
