A Experience at the Palace at Naklo

    October 29, 2012

We elected to stay at the palace, despite it being 50 miles out of Krakow based solely on the pictures on the website, and that perhaps was the wisest decision we took. The hosts, Kehrt and Marzenna Reyher along with Marzenna's parents Tadeusz and Danuta Nazar were simply out of this world in being helpful in arranging the entire stay. Their care, hospitality and affection was outstanding and knows no bounds. The food, cooked in the home kitchen was a gourmet meal. The rooms were palatial and beautifully kept. Our stay at the palace in one word was SUPERB. We will make another trip only to stay there longer. A GROUP OF SEVEN INDIANS.

Kehrt and Marzenna are exceptional hosts with a breathtaking vision of what can be achieved in their dream Palace. If you want a genuine experience of what it might be like to actually live in a house like this, nothing could be better.

Romantic getaway, a step back in time!

    September 09, 2012

The historic palace which we found on line exceeded our wildest expectations. Our hosts Marzenna and Kehrt paid close attention to everything we might need for a wonderful experience in Poland. The palace was exquisitely renovated with all the modern conveniences one would expect from a five star hotel but with a down home Polish country ambience. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was beyond our expectations, fresh and healthy and a wide variety of foods from which to choose. We felt in a way that we had come home to Polish family. Tadeusz and Danuta, Marzenna's parents, were the icing on the cake with Tadeusz taking us on tours of the palace property and Danuta doing her wonderful cooking. Real Polish recipes! Marzenna and Kehrt helped us with our itinerary in and around Krakow in so many ways. We are most appreciative.

    Signature Dish

    Beef Roulade
We start you with a bowl of Grandma’s wild mushroom soup (based on a variety of delicacies from our forest), followed by a garden (ours) greens salad with cucumber/dill dressing. Then to the signature dish: Thinly sliced beef, rolled with cornichons (pickles), onion and slab bacon, then slowly braised. Served with mashed potatoes and sweet red beets and (optional) a shot or two of Grandpa’s home-made pepper vodka! If you have room for desert: A thick slab of "szarlotka" – a special Polish version of apple pie (yes, apples from our orchard!) and a cup of tea, or coffee brewed to your taste.
