Recent activity at Halemaumau Crater produces a spectacular gas plume. This scene is less than 2 miles from Crater Rim Cabin.Lush rainforest filled with ferns and the native ohia trees. This photo was found about 2 miles from our cabin.
Crater Rim Cabin on a sunny March afternoon.I recently discovered that dahlias do very well here in Volcano, so I've planted about 30 varieties. We shall see how much of the year I can keep them blooming!
