The John Buckmaster Inn was built in 1801 and is in the National Register of Historic Places. The names of the rooms are based on the people that were involved with the inn/ tavern when it was built, such as Asahel Holten, who was the practicing physician in the Shrewsbury community during the years of 1798 to 1813. John Buckmaster owned to Black- smith Shops and was the Postmaster of Shrewsbury Center. There is much history surrounding our Inn, we would love for you to see for yourself! This is the Asahel Holton Room, it was named after the local doctor back in 1806. It has a queen sized bed and is quite spacious. It has the morning sun and a Southern view. It also has a privte bath.
