Shawnee Falls Studio, Gallery & Guesthouse: pumpkin clapboard and stone vernacular federal farmhouse (circa 1736/1740), corner of Hollow and River Roads in the village of Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA.Shawnee Falls Studio, Gallery & Guesthouse: back deck--where breakfast is served, weather permitting--overlooking Shawnee Creek and waterfall.
Lower cascades of the waterfall in the backyard of Shawnee Falls Studio, Gallery & Guesthouse.Take a seat and enjoy the peaceful views of the waterfall, creek, gardens, and surrounding nature.
The elegant but relaxed living room features Gwendolyn's award-winning paintings, fresh flowers from her gardens, piano, fireplace, two sofas and large arm chairs for gathering, reading or conversing--or occasional guitar-listening . The library for guest's use is off the living room. The 1700s "pie" stairway in the original entry leads up to second floor guest rooms. The hallway to the left leads to the studio and gallery. The antique crystal chandelier is a treasured family heirloom from Paris.
The Provence Room with 1700s floors, exposed stone, offers a queen bed with Horchow sheets, custom French toile duvet, Italian bench, arm chair, twin day bed, antique desk, and hand-painted armoire. Paintings of Provence by Artist-innkeeper complete the ambience. The Waterfall Room: Considered the most magical sleeping room in the house with sounds of the waterfall, this cozy accommodation is decorated with hand-stenciling, book shelves, desk, built-in dresser, and original art.
