And Daly Ave was home to many Fathers of Confederation (Sir Samuel Leonard Tilley, Sir Alexander Campbell, Sir Alexander Tilloch Galt) and our first Prime Minister, John A. In Ottawa, temperatures extremes of -30 to +35 (Celsius) are not unusual, and there is an average of 2.5 metres (~6-1/2 ft) of snow in Ottawa during winter.
Parking; Because of our ideal downtown core location, consider leaving the car at home, because attractions are in walking distance from the Inn. You'll save money and the environment too! From the airport, a taxi ride to downtown is about $30.00CND and, the local bus #97 is $3.00. Onsite parking available at the rate of $12.00 per night per vehicle on a first come first serve basis (3pm to 2pm next day). No in-and-out privilages. Off-site parking • Free on street over night parking is available in the summertime. • A public parking lot with daily rates is on Besserer street whitin 1 block from our Inn..(approx. $18.00/24 hours). • Underground parking available at the Rideau Shopping Center for approx. $20.00/24 hours Gasthaus Switzerland Inn - Entrance - Winter time November to March -
