Oakland The Quayle Estate Bed and Breakfast - click here to view large high resolution photo

The Quayle Estate is a grand three-bedroom family home built by Charles & Coral Quayle in 1920. Mr. Quayle was a prominent young attorney while Mrs. Quayle pursued philanthropic activities. She was instrumental in the building of the main library in downtown Oakland. This estate style home was one of the first built in the then new development of Maxwell Park and perhaps the most grand. Almost every area has a spectacular view of the San Francisco bay. The house and gardens have been fully restored to their original 1920 appearance but with all the comforts of the 21st century. The large public rooms are grand but comfortable and inviting. The two suites and one bedroom are luxuriously appointed for both short- and long-term stays.
