This queen suite provides the perfect getaway! A small sitting area, private bedroom, and dormer windows create the feeling of cozy privacy on the third floor of the inn. The private bath has two doors, making it accessible from both the bed and sitting areas. A whirlpool tub, cable TV and continental breakfast are included.
The name Old Village Post House is a reference to the post houses of 18th century America, when innkeepers provided food, drink and lodging for postal riders and coaches traveling through sparsely populated areas. The inns became popular gathering spots for locals who enjoyed mingling with the travelers for news, entertainment and fellowship. Today's Old Village Post House provides the same welcoming services for guests from near and far. The inn is sequestered in the Old Village Historic Register District, one block from the Charleston harbor and within easy walking distance of Shem Creek, the home of Mt. Pleasant's shrimping fleet.Known throughout the Charleston community for their popular restaurants ,Maverick Southern Kitchens renovated the property to enhance the restaurant dining rooms, build a tavern and integrate the inn with the restaurant.
