This elegant room features a mahogany four-poster, rice pattern bed width a hand tied canopy. With its pleasant and spacious sitting area, you can easily lose yourself while relaxing in front of a crackling fireplace. The couch is convertible into a single bed, enabling the room to accommodate three people.
Just like a perfect romantic hideaway, the Rose Room is tucked away neatly and peacefully undisturbed in a corner of the Federal House. Its rose theme and white iron queen bed easily adds to the feel of romance. Of course, just like any true romantic hideaway, there is a Franklin Stove gas fireplace to keep you cozy in the night. Wide pine floors and a built-in wardrobe stay true to the historical ambience of this home, and combine with the rose theme to create a romantic getaway in time. You will love our fresh roasted coffee with its nutty, chocolately finish. Fresh juice and seasonal fruit will be followed by gourmet hot entrees such as our signature croissant French toast with spiced apples and Berkshire eggs benedict.
The Federal House Inn is close to the Norman Rockwell Museum, home of the largest collection of original Norman Rockwell art, with changing exhibitions of other illustrators and Norman Rockwell's studio. At 16,627 acres, nearby October Mountain is the largest state forest in Massachusetts. Great for hiking, fishing and canoeing.
Our largest room, the Thomas Hurlbut Suite, is named for the pioneering papermaker who built Federal House for his family in 1824. This elegant room features a mahogany four-poster, rice pattern bed with a hand tied canopy. With its pleasant and spacious sitting area, you can easily lose yourself while relaxing in front of the warmth of the crackling fireplace. The large windows provide lovely views of the front lawn with its stately pines and majestic copper beech trees. Additionally, the couch is convertible into a single bed, enabling the room to accommodate three people.
