Enter our inn through the original door from 1845 surrounded by beautiful stained glass in rich color tones of that era.Our classic Galena Bed and Breakfast has been known for its hospitality since the 1850's entertaining such figures as U.S. Grant and Abe Lincoln. Today, guests gather each morning in the formal dining room, where a full, hot breakfast is served enhanced by candlelight and great conversation. Pastries are available to guests all day and join us for evening wine and cheese.
For indoor relaxation, guests can enjoy the double parlor.  A large fireplace, music, period antiques and comfortable sofas offer a space for reading, relaxing, playing cards or just visiting friends, new or old.  We offer a guest library with TV/DVD, refrigerator stocked with beverages and complimentary wine and cheese each night.
Dr. Edward Bench Room: Just what the doctor ordered… a queen size brass bed, oak dressers, and extra single brass bed for third person. Bright and sunny with a park view, large private bath and shower. 
Minimal extra charge for third person.

The McClellan room, the original master bedroom, overlooks the gardens and grounds where U.S. Grant once trained his northern troops.  Retaining the grandeur of times past, the imposing oak bed is softened by a cloud-like silky canopy.  The large corner fireplace creates warmth and majesty. Boasting the largest bath in the home, it includes an original oak pull chain toilet, clawfoot tub, "the best soakers ever made" and brass shower. This room exudes romance, gracefullness and elegance.
Clara's Room: Named for the wife of R.H. McClennan, This enchanting room, decorated in pale mauve and cream overlooks our lush garden.  Clara features a Victorian walnut dresser, a queen size bed with beautiful carved headboard and full private bath.
Cozy and inviting with original 1845 plank floors, angled ceiling and small fireplace, the Aldrich room beckons those looking for quiet times together surrounded by a sense of the home's authentic heritage.  Complete with original clawfoot tub, brass shower and unique oak sink, the private bath completes the experience.
J. Russel Jones Room: If you look through the trees, you can see Jones’ masterpiece, the Belvedere Mansion from the windows. This romantic room features a queen size antique white iron bed, walnut dresser, fireplace and private bath with shower.Step into our library with a beautiful view of the gardens. Choose from a large selection of books or watch a movie, play a game or just relax and unwind.
Come up to our cozy second floor nook to relax before the start, end or even the middle of your day.
