The Log Cabin, circa 1854, is the first structure that was built on this historic homestead. A stay in the Log Cabin, where the Karl Itz family raised nine children, lets you reflect on the character of the pioneers while enjoying all of today's luxury amenities in a charming cottage. Enjoy a romantic evening in front of the fieldstone fireplace, a focal point of the living room. Set the mood with special music or a nostalgic movie. This original farm house (circa 1875) is perfect for small groups of family and friends. Downstairs offers a great room with a wood burning fireplace, comfy sitting areas and an antique farm dining table. Two handsome wardrobes are used as accents in the house. The downstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the bath has a clawfoot tub with handheld shower.We have four guest houses for you to choose from. Soak in your own private bath, warm your toes by the fireplace or just relax on your porch. Every house is its own private refuge. For further relaxation, we offer full spa services and professional massage at our day spa. The Farm has everything to make your stay the ultimate getaway.
The Hideaway began as a single-car garage, later served as an office, and finally became a special accommodation for two. The Hideaway is furnished and decorated with rustic antiques. After a good night's sleep, start the day off in the large, walk-in shower of tumbled marble. Relax in the fresh country air on the wraparound screened porch.Aside from our day spa and massage services, a favorite activity at the farm is sitting in the swing under the ancient grandfather Oak tree—the very same tree the Comanche probably sheltered beneath. Though the Indians have gone, the Texas peace and quiet remain.

The look of old limestone and plaster walls, a natural limestone floor, and a cedar ceiling supported by ancient juniper beams provide the perfect setting for the whirlpool tub for two tucked into the corner. "My wife and I have long been visitors to Palo Alto Creek Farm, a restored 1850s farmstead. A recent change in ownership worried us about until we made a return visit earlier this year. Fortunately, the new owners have preserved just about everything that makes this a winning place to stay.... The location, about 5 miles north of Fredericksburg on an idyllic country road, is far enough to avoid the tourist bustle, but close enough to get into town at a moment's notice. The continental breakfast left in the units before you arrive is a mixture of homemade breads, juices, milk, and other assorted breakfast goodies....
