The Wheatland Suite in the Main Guesthouse is a favorite of many guests. Stately and grand with intricately inlaid wook floors and stained glass windows. This room has a contemporary feel in the furnishings from the Barbara Barry line for Baker furniture. An adjoining sitting room and separate Jacuzzi room add the finishing touches.Melba's Suite at The Homestead has the original quarried limestone fireplace, a bubbling Jacuzzi and this beautiful queen-size four-poster iron bed. Curl up with a good book and relax in the bay window sitting area.
The year was 1777... Jacob Gorgas, a member of the Ephrata Cloister was a clockmaker, but because he was married, he was not permitted to live within the Cloister itself. So over the years, he perfected his craft in a small, shadowy shop adjoining the home he built for his family: the home that has become The 1777 House at Doneckers.
