"Edinburg Gap" in summer. In the 1700s and 1800s the German and Swedish settlers came over the mountains and through the Edinburg Gap to settle the Shenandoah Valley and little Eden or Edinburg as it was then called. Doctor Christian Hockman's father and grandfather were among them. Dr. Hockman built his home on the banks of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River and must have admired this fantastic, inspiring view every day of his life here. It is outstandingly beautiful in every season of the year, whether covered in fall foliage, winter snows, summer flowers or spring mist.Virginia Bluebells along our riverbank in April.
