Warm hospitality and southwestern charm describes this four guest room Bed and Breakfast with private baths, full breakfasts, and high speed wireless internet. Located in the historic Village of Corrales (adjacent to Albuquerque and Rio Rancho), the Chocolate Turtle is a perfect get away, while close to working studios, spas, historic sites, galleries, shopping, wineries, and excellent local restaurants. Walking along the historic acequias, bird watching in the Bosque, biking and hiking are enjoyable in our mild climate. Roadrunners, quail, rabbits and hummingbirds will entertain you while unwinding on the portal and watching the ever changing Sandia Mountains.

Front EntranceOur deluxe Sandia Room is spacious with a king size bed and an antique “Taos bed”, providing a perfect setting for a romantic get-away, or for a couple traveling with a child. The Taos bed can serve as a single bed or as a relaxing place to snuggle up in your cozy terry robe with a good book. The ceiling fan will circulate the cool summer evening breeze. Sip a cup of coffee, read the morning paper or simply enjoy the breathtaking view of the Sandia Mountains from the Sandia Room’s secluded walled patio.
The colors selected for the Quail Room were inspired by a cobalt blue banister from Mexico found in a local antique shop. The banister now serves as the headboard for the comfortable queen size bed. The cobalt blue chair-rail and trim compliment the garnet red and soothing haze throughout the rest of the room. The two comfortable chairs are perfect for reading or relaxing after a busy day. The corner desk and high-speed wireless connectivity provides an ideal workspace for the business traveler. All guests will find the Quail Room to be a quiet, comfortable, secure alternative to hotel monotony.Pottery and goldenrod with a complimentary border are the colors featured in the Roadrunner Room which has a comfortable queen sized bed in this Corrales Bed and Breakfast. A one of its kind headboard crafted from an antique New Mexico screen door adds to the unique décor. Assorted artwork, a woodcarving by a local artist and colorful rugs enhance the southwestern ambiance. This bright and cheery room has two comfortable chairs with plenty of light for reading. Fresh flowers, chocolate turtles as well as a little stuffed road runner will be awaiting your arrival.
Delightfully cozy, the Bunny Room can be set up with a single comfortable daybed or two twin beds. This room is ideal for individuals traveling alone, a business traveler on a limited budget, or two people traveling together who do not want to share a bed. The periwinkle and cornflower walls provide a warm background for a variety of artwork- some created by local artists. A chest and closet provide ample storage space for a business traveler for a short or extended stay.Breakfast on the Portal overlooking the Sandia Mountains
The view of the Sandia Mountains from our patio/portal. And you should see it change to a watermelon color at sunset. Our resident roadrunners, who come on to the portal to be fed, lead the array of wildlife that call our backyard home. In addition to the roadrunners quail, bunnies, hummingbirds and a variety of other birds regularly entertain our guests.
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta held in October each year is a fabulous, MUST SEE event!! And the Chocolate Turtle is just minutes from Fiesta Park.
