Each of the 55 rooms at the Inn at Middleton Place is comfortable and contemporary. Handcrafted furniture, wide plantation shutters, and braided rugs evoke a feeling of the past while warm, cypress paneling, wood-burning fireplaces and 150-gallon baths add to the ambiance. Dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows bring into every room the views of area woodlands and the winding Ashley River.Bikes are included in your stay for exploring miles of nature trails through surrounding woodlands and ancient ricefields.
Once the plantation's main highway during the 18th and 19th centuries, the Ashley River is full of diverse animal and plant life. Guided kayak tours travel the Ashley River and into winding tidal creeks where wading birds, fiddler crabs, alligators and deer can be spotted.
