Review Cottage Grove Inn, Calistoga, CA

Photo Album

Cottage Grove Inn is a cluster of unique cottages located in an old grove of elm trees at the edge of Calistoga. Built in 1996, the cottages all have the same luxury features, each cottage has a unique personality which adds to the charm and character and makes each visit a memorable experience. Our partner, Santa Barbara interior designer Monica Bootcheck, spent an entire year researching and planning our cottage interiors. She had the furniture custom made and finished to her specifications and furnished the cottages with hand-picked fabrics and accessories of the highest quality
Another partner, Marin County architect Tom Stimpert, designed the cottages to include several features that we felt important: Vaulted ceilings with skylights and hardwood floors with resurfaced old-growth fir from an old whiskey distillery; a full-length front porch with wicker rockers for warm summer nights and a real wood-burning fireplace for cozy winter nights. And of course a big bathroom with a double sink limestone vanity and a two-person Jacuzzi soaking tub. For the ultimate in peace and quiet he specified sound insulation and double wall sheetrock construction.Creature comforts always enhance a relaxing getaway and our cottages have 40 channel DMX music stations, flat screen HDTV's and DVD players, wet bar and fridge, air conditioning, down comforters and pillows, luxurious robes, ironing board and iron, safe, wireless internet and our special fresh ground coffee from the coffee roastery just down the street. Guests may borrow DVD movies and CDs from our library for a quiet night at home or walk two blocks to the center of town for dinner and entertainment.
Our cottages feature a king-size bed and all amenities mentioned above. Cottage names indicate the personality of each cottage which is achieved through the use of colors, fabrics and furnishings selected by Monica Bootcheck, our decorator/partner. Cottage names are: Provence, Pine, Music, Rose Floral, Botanical, Audubon, Nautical, Library, Fly Fishing, Gardeners, Traveler, Twig, Tuscany, Victorian, Vintner and Santa Barbara. For example, the warm French hue coral color of the Rose Floral Cottage transports one to a European country sitting room. The two overstuffed lounge chairs and ottomans are slip covered in a French Coral Weave are perfect for relaxing by a crackling fire. An original oil painting by local artist Carol Walker graces the wall above the fireplace mantel.
From all angles the Fly Fishing Cottage says "Montana cabin." There are hand carved trout on the headboard and a very popular tropical insect netting which can be drawn to enclose the bed. There is a chaise lounge big enough for two and a dramatic Carol Walker oil painting above the jacuzzi. Honeymooners love this cottage! You are invited to be our guest each morning at a breakfast served in our guest lounge. In the afternoon we set up our buffet table with some of our favorite Napa Valley wines and special cheeses.
Our managing partner Valerie Beck along with general manager Donna Johnson, innkeepers Katie Yeo, Kim Clark and head housekeeper Dolores Gallardo all strive to have Cottage Grove Inn be your most memorable Napa Valley experience and one that you will want to repeat year after year.
