This is one of our rooms, the Queen's Solar. I chose this name because it's high above the great room and in the afternoon, the sun pours through the stained glass windows and the skylight. It has a king-size bed and a private deck where you can enjoy a quiet breakfast which makes it perfect for special weekends, anniversaries and honeymoons!Reflection of the Bed in the Azalea Cottage
A very dear friend of mine has alway called this "the wishing door," and the name stayed. She says she likes to go through it with her wishes to the gazebo and meditate.The gazebo is on the front lawn. It's a wonderful place to sit and contemplate, read a book or have a cup of tea. It's surrounded by lilies, roses and azaleas.
Awe-inspiring clouds scud gothically over the inn on an early winter's afternoon.The stained glass windows in the Great Room were rescued from an old church that was being torn down. This is the view in the late afternoon from the inside balcony of the Queen's Solar. Just look at the reflection from the sun!
