The Hiram Alden room, named after the gentleman who built this home in 1840, is spacious and breathtaking in its size, color and ambiance. It has a burled walnut, queen-sized bed. Two large, antique chairs face the working fireplace framed by a 7 1/2 foot, hand-carved cherry mantle from Italy. A burled walnut dresser with a marble top and dressing mirror also graces this room. The Hiram Alden room provides a private bathroom with shower, pedestal sink and the original marble sink in a separate alcove.
