The Graycote was built in 1881 for the Rev. Christopher Starr Leffingwell, the first Rector of St. Saviour's Episcopal Church. The house is sited on nearly an acre of landscaped grounds, giving you a quiet place to relax. The Graycote Inn is designated an Environmental Leader by the State of Maine. Graycote was the first lodging property of any type in Bar Harbor to be so designated. It is the only Green Certified B&B on Mt. Desert Island.
