There are several miles of grassy nature trails on the property. Here the trail follows the Battenkill River where you can fish. The Hill Farm barn and silo, dating from 1800, are in the background. There are many special places to sit and relax and enjoy the view. This view looks across our pastures and nature trails along the Battenkill towards the Teconic Mountains.
Hill Farm Inn is off the highway, in a tranquil country setting, where you can really relax. Yet, our location between Bennington and Manchester puts you just minutes away from shops, restaurants and sights.Guests enjoy the common areas of the Inn including the sitting room pictured here, the dining roon, and especially the wrap-around porch.
For spectacular views and maximum privacy, try one of our four cabins. The Willows, shown here, overlooks our pastures with the mountains in the background. It features a sitting room, a porch with chairs, a private bathroom with shower, microwave and refrigerator.Although we are no longer a working dairy farm, vestiges of days past remain. Our perennial garden, historic old barn and silo and acres of pasture land are still a wonderful setting for our every-growing population of friendly farm animals.
Uncle Abner's Room is a deluxe country room with a queen bed, sitting area, cable TV and VCR, full private bathroom, wonderful views, free wi-fi internet access, and air conditioning. It is the only room that has a private entrance as well as an entrance directly into the main inn.The Obadiah Suite features a king bed, separate sitting room and wonderful views of the mountains. Located upstairs in the main inn, it has air conditioning, cable TV and VCR, a full private detached bathroom, and a full sofa bed.
The Loft offers a large open floor plan with kitchen, fireplace, queen, twin and full sofa bed.The Battenkill Suite has cathedral ceilings with fan, skylight, fireplace, balcony, king bed, sitting room with flatscreen cable TV/DVD/VCR, clock-radio-CD player, free wireless internet access, refrigerator, private entrance, and lots of charm.
Breakfast is a highlight of the Hill Farm experience. Fresh, homemade breads and baked goods, fresh fruit, blueberry pancakes with real Vermont maple syrup and more is cooked to order. As part of the Vermont Fresh Network we strive to serve locally produced organic foods whenever possible. The Hill Farm Inn property includes fifty acres of open space that provides grazing area for our horse, sheep, goats and pot bellied pigs, as well as nature trails along our frontage on the famed Battenkill River.
