My husband and I stayed over the weekend and had a fabulous time. Rooms are neat and clean. Robes were a nice addition. Afternoon tea with biscotti was a real treat! We appreciated the off street parking. Walking distance to Public Square (shopping and eating) was very convenient. It was a little cold, but we still walked around town and it wasn't too bad. We ate at Thai Thai on Saturday night (great place). We got there before 7:00 p.m. without a reservation and were seated right away; however, we recommend a reservation because it got real busy after 7:00 p.m. We went to Mohegan Sun to watch football on Sunday. 10 minutes away, which was nice. We didn't even play any machines, just took in the games and had a blast! We ate dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House - another great place. Terry and Vesta, owners, go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as they can. You can tell they really enjoy what they do and they love people! We give each breakfast 5 stars! The food, conversations and the table setting were fantastic! We can't say enough good things about Terry and Vesta - just genuinely nice, down to earth people who truly care about others and their well being. We're looking forward to returning soon and hearing more good stories! Ann and Mike

We spent New Years Eve at The Sign of the Rose, and had the most wonderful time. We were lucky enough that we were the only guests that weekend, and literally had the entire house to ourselves, which was just so great. The house itself was just lovely, beautifully decorated with love, with such small beautiful touches that truly make this bed and breakfast feel so much more like a home away from home rather than "just an inn!" Our hosts, Vesta and Terry made us feel as if we were staying with friends, and we enjoyed our first breakfast of 2012 with them (eating theeeee most delicious banana's foster pancakes!) We would both highly, highly recommend this sweet little gem to anyone in the area and we can't wait to go back! Kate and Doug

My wife and I recently stayed overnight while attending a concert. Our hosts Vesta and Terry were most gracious and accomodating. Terry gave me a courtesy call the day before the American Idol concert to give me a heads up concerning the predicted parking mayhem. Thanks to his thoughtfulness we avoided being trapped in the mayhem and were at the concert with no complications. The room was quite cozy and the bed was ever so comfortable. Breakfast was a delicious crustless quiche which Vesta had prepared special because she was aware my wife has celiac and gluten allergies. For a first time stay at The Sign of The Rose we were very satisfied and will definitely return.

We have stayed here exclusively when visiting our King's College student. The innkeepers are wonderful and have been very accommodating at all times. While our student has now become a graduate, Sign of the Rose will always be our home when we are in Wilkes-Barre.
