The house is surrounded by plantings providing an ever-changing display of colors throughout the year.
Ned and Niles welcome our guests and are very calm and friendly.
A flagstone patio overlooks the well-planted side yard. There's a hammock too!
The living room is available to our guests. A TV and DVD player are available here as well as comfortable seating and even a piano, for those who care to play.
Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the side yard.
Bassett room is furnished with a queen bed.
The Bassett room has its own bath en suite.
Purcell room is furnished with a queen bed as well as a loveseat which opens to a twin bed.
Darrell room is furnished with a double bed as well as a chair which opens to a bed slightly narrower than a twin.
This large hall bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower is shared by the Darrell and Purcell rooms.

Ours is a smoke-free Victorian home, ca. 1880, with both antique and “practical” furnishings. You should find both your private space on the 2nd floor and the shared area on the 1st floor quite comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. When the weather’s nice, you’ll want to spend a little time on the patio overlooking the large, well-planted side yard. Are you interested in seeing Philadelphia while you're here? We're a 5 minute walk to the Swarthmore train station and 25 minute direct ride right into center city! That's faster than driving and no big parking garage charge.

There was a warm welcome from the first moment of contact. The house is authentically furnished and very comfortable. The hosts do this exceptional B&B were helpful, friendly and very knowledgable about the area. The room we stayed in was beautifully furnished and comfortable. The shared bathroom immaculate, modern, yet tastefully furnished and had the fluffiest towels ever! Home cooking and freshly made cookies made this a place I would highly recommend.

Drive South on interstate 95 approximately 4 miles to route 476 North. Take exit 3 off 476 and turn right onto Baltimore Pike. Proceed about 1/2 mile to route 320, turn right onto 320 South and into the borough of Swarthmore. At the first light, turn right to stay on route 320, also known as Chester Road. Continue 2 1/2 blocks (past Ogden and Elm) and look for our house on the left.
