Limestone Inn Bed and Breakfast

Our room was small, but lovely, very clean and well equipped. There were also sitting areas available to guests who wanted more room to lounge. The food was absolutely delicious...served buffet style at a dining room table. There were many choices, so if one wanted to splurge or indulge there were fabulous "treat" dishes. If one wanted to dine on low cal or low fat food delicious options were provided. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, but not intrusive. We had a wonderful stay and would definitley return.

We just returned from a wonderful weekend at Limestone Inn. The lovely inn is beautifully maintained with plenty of thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome and at home. The breakfasts were excellent, and owner Karen is welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. We will return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Limestone Inn. Innkeeper Karen was wonderful - great hearty breakfasts! Our room was delightful and both room and private bath were roomy & spotless! Hope to be back soon!

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. We have nothing to compare the experience to. We had an extremely enjoyable weekend.

My 10 year old daughter, mother and I had a very nice stay at the Limestone Inn. Is is close to town but far enough away that it provides a quiet retreat. The service was very good and and the breakfast was delicious. We hope to visit again.

Karen is a wonderful innkeeper. She serves delicious breakfasts. I have gluten and dairy intolerances, and Karen works with me to thoughtfully provide breakfast foods to meet my needs. The Inn is beautiful, the setting serene, and the Inn is close to Penn State. Karen is a great hostess. She is great to talk to and will work with you to accommodate your needs. The only thing my husband and I had an issue with was the squeaky bed we slept in. We didn't share that with Karen. Just forgot to.

We stayed for five nights during July. Our innkeeper, Karen Patzker, made every attempt to make it the best possible experience and it was. We could not have asked for a better stay, from the wonderful room to the delicious breakfasts to the way Karen made us feel welcome in her home.

This is a wonderful place to getaway from it all, yet still close to all the fun and nature oriented activities near State College. We look forward to returning. Karen was a wonderful host.

The Limestone In has a pond and meadow in te backyard and a back porch which is ideal for birdwatching and animal watching in general. The back porch is also where you will get one of the tastiest breakfasts you will ever have. Karen makes you feel right at home and comfortable. We had a group of friends there and had a great get together. A fun place to stay.

My son and I found the Inn to be a wondeful and quiet place to stay in the State College area. The owner, Karen, was extremely hospitable and made delicious breakfasts. We also really enjoyed the peanut-butter filled pretzels as our late night snack!

We went up for Thon weekend and discovered a gem of a place! Our daughter loved it and her three word best describe The Limestone B&B....relaxing, cozy and delicious! We stayed in the Penn State room and woke to the delicious smells of breakfast! It was soooo good! She fell in love withe the spinach, brie stuffed omelette ...yes our ten yr old! The innkeeper Karen was welcoming, friendly and made us feel right at home! The distance to PSU was an easy drive! We will return!

My stay was great. Karen was a gracious hostess and an outstanding cook! The meals made the stay extra memorable. She was also very willing to share the recipes! The house is very nice...what one would expect from an older home...cozy and quaint.

The house and surrounding area is beautiful. It is well maintained and the owner is very friendly and accommodating.

I will visit again. The room was charming and the sun room overlooking the garden/woods/stream was spectacular. I found Karen to be such a nice and down to earth person and we felt right at home. It's not as fancy as some, but it provided everything we needed and more. Karen makes absolutely delicious cookies!

I've stayed at the Limestone several times now and it feels like I'm going to visit and stay with a friend. The setting, which backs up to a mountain ridge and state park, is beautiful and serene. Karen makes you feel at home and provides you with everything you need. The rooms have overhead fans, wonderful beds, their own small bathrooms and are tastefully decorated. And breakfast (my favorite meal of the day) is freshly made and over the top. You won't go hungry and she will do her best to accommodate any special needs. Little special touches everywhere you look, like candy by the bedside and bottomless homemade cookie plate in the kitchen.

When my husband and I brought our daughter back to PSU, we wanted to make sure that she settled into the University life, so we decided to stay overnight. We went to bnb.com because we have been pleased with the site's recommendations in the past, and they continue to present quiet respite in the midst of activity. Student and self give two thumbs up!

Had a great time. The room had all the amenities that a hotel would have(soap,shampoo,towels). The breakfast that Karen made us in the morning was amazing! The view of her backyard while we ate was so calming. There is a lovely pond and waterfall. it was only 4 miles from Penn State and it was so quiet there.

This was our second visit to the Limestone. Karen is a lovely hostess and breakfast is superb. The grounds are lovely. My husband did not sleep well in the bed though. Could be that he is used to an Select Comfort air mattress. Not sure. I was fine except for the creakiness of the bed. I think I would request the Room we stayed in the first time. More comfortable bed.

This was a comfortable, relaxing, homey bed and breakfast. An older farmhouse, it was quaint, but comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms were small, but sufficient for our family and there were multiple distinct common areas that we made use of in the evenings. Karen, the innkeeper, was amazingly helpful, welcoming and accommodating and as relaxing as her inn. She provided a wide variety of breakfast options. Would definitely stay there again!

What a perfect spot for my son and me to stay the night before we were to meet a fishing guide at 6 AM. The room we stayed in had two beds which was perfect for the two of us. We told Karen we were not going to be there for breakfast. She had the coffee all ready for us at 4:30 AM along with brown paper bags to fill with yogurt, fruit, homemade muffins and cheese. She went above and beyond the call of duty. She had a great suggestion for a place for cocktails and appetizers in town. When we returned we sat out on the porch swing and took in an incredible lightening bug show. Even though we were there just a short time, we had an awesome experience and would highly recommend Limestone Inn to anyone looking for the perfect B&B.

Karen went out of her way to ensure that our stay was comfortable. My Husband and Son have cat allergies, but the Inn and Bedrooms were spotless! She gave us a map and information about the area. Our Breakfast the next morning was supreme! It rivaled a 5 Star Hotel. We would stay there again and would definitely recommend the Limestone Inn to everyone!

Wonderful accomodations. Karen is a fabulous cook for breakfast and more than accomodating! Right on the edge of State college so perfect location. Would definitely stay again.

It was delightful to stay in this gorgeous home. Our room was very beautiful with toile fabric covered walls and wainscoting. The room was comfortable. We enjoyed the games available in the common area. The highlight of our stay came the next morning. The absolutely gorgeous breakfast room was a wonderful backdrop for an incredible breakfast and enjoyable conversation facilitated by our hostess.

The rooms were nice, bed was very comfy! Karen the owner was very helpful and a lovely hostess. Breakfast was delicious with large portions and a nice variety of foods!! The only issue we had was that we told her ahead of time that we were allergic to cats and she assured us the cat did not go into the rooms, but we found that one of the chairs in the room was covered in cat hair. By the time we left, we both had itchy noses and eyes. But overall a very nice experience.

Visiting PSU and wanted a B & B to stay at instead of the usual hotels. The Limestone was the best and breakfast was outstanding!

The host was very accommodating, providing a tour of the facility and available amenities. The room was comfortable and clean, and the sounds of the countryside very soothing. The breakfast was wonderful -- delicious and plenty to eat.

I stayed at the Limestone Inn during a visit with a friend in State College. Diane, the proprietor's hospitality was outstanding. She was flexible with my arrival and comings and goings and very friendly in her interactions with me. My room was lovely and cozy and like a home away from home. Diane's culinary skills at breakfast were gourmet extraordinaire. I would definitely recommend Limestone Inn to others and will be sure to stay there on a return visit.

The innkeeper had just the right touch -- I felt well taken care of, and engaged in warm conversation; and I also felt I could be as private as I wanted to be. She is also a great cook and breakfast was memorable.

My daughter and I stayed at the Limestone Inn before her freshman orientation at Penn State. We had a wonderful, peaceful time. As a PSU alumni, Karen was extremely helpful to us. We enjoyed the comfy beds, wonderful breakfasts and met some other delightful Penn State parents. We will stay at the Limestone Inn again.

As an alumnus of PSU, this is not the first time I had stayed at the Limestone Inn, although it had been 7 years since the last time. My son was attending sports camp at PSU and we needed to come twice to drop off/pick up. The Limestone Inn was PERFECT for us. It's not too far from the campus but not right on top of it. The surroundings are very serene and the back porch is a wonderful place to just soak it all in. The first night we spent, there was an amazing lightning storm and we just sat on the porch and watched the lightning streak horizontally across the sky. I've never seen anything quite like it. The back yard is expansive and includes a little stream that runs through it. Karen, the innkeeper, is extremely gracious and welcoming. She made sure we had access to everything we needed and then mostly faded away so it really felt like we were at home. However, she joined us for breakfast for some spirited discussions. Speaking of breakfast, I can't comment highly enough on the quality and quantity. We were served apple-cinnamon pancakes the first time and breakfast "cups" filled with eggs, ham and a kind of hollandaise sauce the second time. Both were to-die-for and I cleaned my plate each time even though I'm not normally a breakfast eater and the portions were huge. There was also fresh fruit and fresh-baked muffins. And I was grateful for the little details like flavored coffee creamer. You just don't get that kind of experience at a hotel. Because it was July, it was hot but the inn was perfectly comfortable and the beds were also just right. The inn itself is historic and beautifully apportioned, which as antique-lovers we appreciated. We had two teenage boys with us, and they were so happy to have wireless access. The cost was extremely reasonable, and compared to other options around Penn State, a terrific value. I would highly recommend the Limestone Inn to anyone and plan on staying there again the next time we return.

A warm welcome and advice that the Canadian Hockey Team won Gold! A memorable stay in a warm, friendly B&B. Very clean and beautifully decorated.

We were a part of the Susquehanna Wine Trail tour in March, 2009, and happened to see an accompanying brochure describing Limestone Inn. We decided to stay there after one of the tours and combine it with our wedding anniversary. It was a pleasant find and we very much enjoyed our stay. Everything about it was great! We look forward to returning.

The inn was very nice, clean, quiet, great food, big nice backyard. Waterfall and beautiful birds appear in yard.

Stayed at Limestone for two nights (Fri/Sat) for a friends wedding. Limestone B&B is close enough to State College/PSU but situated in the country to make it a 'at-home' stay. Karen was welcoming and had great recommendations for shopping locally and visiting the countryside. The room was very clean and breakfast was awesome. Karen was very accommodating to different breakfast times and service was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here. I will make reservations the next time I am in PA. Thanks Karen!!!

For our son's graduation from Juniata College our family booked all 5 rooms in this magnificent Inn. Karen saw to even the most minute detail to make our stay memorable. Each room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was spectacular. Karen recommeded restaurants in the area for dinner that were superb. I highly recommend this inn for a getaway weekend to enjoy some R&R and excellent food!
