Great hosts, great food, great room equals great B&B

5 on September 08, 2014

We spent this past weekend at the Quill Haven Country Inn and attended the Mountain Craft Days at the local Historic Center. Carol and Rowland were gracious hosts and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The B&B is also a working farm with a barn, garden, goats and chickens. It is a true haven right in the middle of Somerset. As their rates are VERY reasonable compared to other B&B's we've stayed. The Rose room on the first floor was very comfortable and clean. Carol's breakfasts are delicious. Rowland is quite the story teller and kept us entertained for hours. There is much to do locally such as the Historic Center, the Quecreek Miners Memorial, the Flight 93 Memorial and more. There are also many great places to eat and shop. Somerset is a great town. We HIGHLY recommend the Quill Haven Country Inn. Dan and Lynette

We had such a lovely time, we stayed there on our way back home.

Rowland and Carol are friendly and a joy to be with. Their home is beautiful and the breakfasts delicious. We highly recommend staying with them.

A Great Place

5 on May 01, 2014

We stayed one night at the Quill Haven and my wife and I wish it could have been more! Carol and Rowland are very friendly and welcoming, the house is impeccably clean, the bedrooms amazing and the food great (including fresh eggs from their own hens). Nothing was too much trouble, and they even gave us a glass of wine! Don't just stay here if you are in the area, go out of your way to stay with Carol and Rowland. Its the best!

Great weekend away from the city

5 on March 09, 2014

The experience at this bed and breakfast was memorable and wonderful. My husband and I went looking for a place close by to cross country skiing and hiking, and this place could not have been more perfect. Carol was incredibly sweet and her breakfast was fantastic, filling us up for most of the day. The hot tub was great to warm up in at the end of the day and our room was quiet and homey. Would definitely go back!

Really nice hosts at Quill Haven, Somerset, PA

4.2 on March 06, 2014

Carol the hostess was so accommodating, hospitable, friendly. She lent me her new heavy rain coat since we were going hiking in the rain but unprepared. That rain coat saved the trip! Can't say enough about her genuine desire to make you feel as comfortable and at home as possible, from clean bed, large clean bathroom, yummy cookies, helpful tips and advice. We even visited her 7 goats and they were very friendly as well. You would be very lucky to stay here!

Great place to stay when skiing

3.6 on March 04, 2014

I here had stayed several years ago and when looking for last minute accommodations while skiing at Seven Springs, I checked out the Quill Haven Country Inn. I left a message and my call was quickly returned. The rates were very reasonable, especially for the location and proximity to the ski resort. The room was very comfortable, bathroom was very nice with a nice shower. Carol, the owner was so nice and hospitable. I enjoyed talking to her when I arrived and during my stay when our paths crossed and during breakfast. The room was very clean and tidy and the breakfast was excellent. I rated those "met my expectations" because that is what I expect from a B&B/Inn. I will definitely stay here again when I go skiing or when I am in the area. Very close to the Flight 93 National Memorial too.

Wonderful First B&B Experience

5 on February 24, 2014

My partner and I wanted to get away for our anniversary and Quill Haven was the perfect place to stay. We were greeted by Carol upon arrival and received many complementary accommodations. The house is beautiful and comfortable. We stayed in the Bridal Suite and loved the space. There are a lot of attractions in the area (state parks, ski resorts, shopping, restaurants, wineries, etc.) and Carol helped us plan our vacation without ever crowding us. The other guests were also friendly, but we had plenty of privacy. The breakfasts were outstanding. Delicious homemade cookies and a wide variety of teas were also provided. The robes were great and we loved relaxing in the hot tub. We had such a good time we decided to stay another night! We recommend this B&B to anyone, not only couples.

Romantic Getaway

5 on February 22, 2014

My husband surprised me for Valentine's Day. We came as guests and left feeling like family. Carol provided everything that my husband had requested. The room, service, and food were exceptional We were given excellent advice for evening dining and discount coupons were made available. Carol and Rowland have great personalities. Laughter abounded during our stay. We even were given help with our luggage when we checked out. There was a beautiful snowstorm and Carol also offered to help clean our car! We give Quill Haven Country Inn an outstanding rating. We have stayed at many B & Bs and give our wholehearted recommendation to Quill Haven.

Quill Haven 2014 January - February

5 on February 20, 2014

We stayed at Quill Haven at the end of January for 1 week while our son competed in the Burton US Open Qualifiers at the nearby Seven Springs Resort. We have traveled all over the world, and stayed at many different hotels. This is the cleanest hotel that we have ever stayed in. In fact we felt as if we were staying with friends, and not hotel customers. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. The rooms are quiet, cozy and relaxing, and we would recommend this hotel for anyone that loves peace and tranquility. We really enjoyed our stay at Quill Haven, and we hope to go back there.

relaxing stay in Somerset

4.6 on February 20, 2014

My boyfriend and I spent a relaxing two nights in the Quill Haven Inn in January. We were going to cross-country ski, but the weather didn't cooperate the first day so we hiked instead. But a surprise storm blew through and we were able to go out our second day. Coming back to the Quill Haven Inn both nights was such a pleasure. We stayed in the rose room, with its king bed, lovely wallpaper and homey feel. It reminded me to visits to my Grandmother's during my college years. Carol took care of our every need. There was complimentary wine in the refrigerator of the living room, plenty of DVDs to choose among and yummy breakfasts to fuel us up before our active adventures in the countryside. There is much to explore in the Laurel Highlands and staying at the Quill Haven Inn is a wonderful respite after an active day.

My favorite vacation memory

5 on August 08, 2013

My Mom and I stayed here two nights on our way to Ohio and loved it. Carol and Rowland were so friendly and accommodating. My favorite memory was feeding their sweet goats. They were knowledgeable about the area and made some great suggestions about local fare. I would love to stay there again, too bad you can't go on vacation every week. Thanks Quill Haven for the wonderful memories.

Enjoyed our second stay as much as the first!

5 on May 29, 2013

Carol and Rowland are gracious hosts who strive to make you feel very comfortable in their home. Loved the bridal suite again! We met others who were there for return visits also. I adore the Nubian goats as they are so sweet. They actually responded to my "Come on guys" by marching in a straight line down the path towards me, expecting more cookies and love! I'm sure they miss the "goat lady" and her camera!

wonderful cozy place to stay

5 on February 10, 2013

This is certainly a great place to stay. Hot tub is nice touch. Breakfast was delicious.carol is very pleasant.

Great stay at Quill Haven in August 2012

5 on December 19, 2012

My wife, Joan and I were so happy to find such a friendly and comfortable B & B on our 3 day trip to Laural Highlands in August. Carol met us as she was working in the yard and brought us into Quill Haven and introduced us to all the "goodies". Then escorted us to our upstairs bedroom - even offering to carry our suitcases. Our stay was very comfortable and the breakfasts delicious, Carol was very friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants and places to photograph. We will definitely return to Quill Haven.

Such an Unexpected and Lovely Surprise!

5 on December 13, 2012

My girlfriend and I had a car breakdown during a trip, and unexpectedly needed somewhere to stay for the night. She suggested that since we had a rough day that we splurge on a bed and breakfast. I was hesitant as I assumed it would be a bit pricey. However, we found Quill Haven Inn to be incredibly affordable, especially for the amount of charm, hospitality and amenities. We called to inquire if there was a room available, and we were in luck! Not only was a room available, but since it wasn't the peak of vacation season, we had the place to ourselves, and were warmly greeted by Carol upon our arrival. She gave us a full tour, offered us a complimentary glass of wine, told us the nicest place to grab some dinner, and showed us where the hot tub was since she knew we had a long day. She made us feel incredibly at home and welcome. We had a great dinner at the restaurant she had recommended, then returned to Quill Haven to unwind in hot tub. After that we had some of the best sleep we'd had in months. We awoke to a full breakfast made for us, waiting on the dining table. Carol greeted us while we ate and we shared some wonderful conversation. It instantly felt like we had known her for years. She took our dietary requirements in mind and made a delicious spread for us, and even sent leftover homemade muffins with us for our long drive. She let us meet her goats, which are incredibly friendly! We had a very short stay, much to our dismay as we loved it so much. We have no particular reason to visit Somerset in the future, as it was a halfway point for us, but it has already been decided that we will make a tradition of visiting Quill Haven Inn, as it was a special weekend for us, that Carol made even more unique and heartwarming. I couldn't recommend it more! Thank you for everything!

1st time Excellence

5 on December 12, 2012

Quill Haven was my first venture into the B&B experience. My wife and I had a wonderful experience and look forward to our next visit to Quill Haven. I recommend Quill Haven highly. I have and will continue to promote staying there.

My stay at the B&B

4.8 on October 15, 2012

I meet my sister at the B&B as it is halfway between our homes. We try and do this once or twice a year. This is the first time we stayed at Quill Haven. We had such a wonderful time. Carol is exceptionally helpfull in giving you advise on where to eat, shop and such. We were in the common area in the evening and enjoyed some of the other guest while we enjoyed chatting and playing games. The breakfast in the morning was awesome too. I enjoy and meal i don't have to cook myself but this was very very good. I would stay again in a heartbeat

Perfect Getaway

5 on October 13, 2012

Very friendly and comfortable BnB with a delicious and filling breakfast. We would definitely return!

Twenty Five Star Rating!!!

5 on October 09, 2012

We arrived in Somerset on a crisp, but moist, fall afternoon and left with the warmth of a wonderful breakfast and a sweet chat with Carol, our now-favorite innkeeper. We have stayed at inns in Maine, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia but never have we had as genuine a host as Carol. What a blessing to us. We were on a trip to visit our supporters (we are faith-supported missionaries) and she had many questions about our service. It was nice to have this stay as a respite from long days and 2,700 miles of driving through 12 states and sleeping in 11 beds in 12 nights! We awoke refreshed and hungry and the pineapple-banana bread, hot from the oven, did the trick in awakening our taste buds. The baked apples were a nice treat, too. We will do what we can to arrange future trips through Pennsylvania to include another night at the Quill Haven Country Inn, for sure! Rob and Connie Taylor - Georgia

Just Great!!!!

5 on July 26, 2012

This was my wife and I's first stay at a B&B. I could not have imagined a better experience. Relaxing and peacefully, just what we were looking for after a long day on the road. Perfect stop heading to the East Coast. Carol made us feel as if we where old school pales and the rooms are warm and friendly. Great nights sleep. Now the best part!! Breakfast! I am not an articulate person so I'll just say you have to stay at the Quill Haven Country Inn and find out for yourself. Perfect.

Anniversary Getaway

5 on July 05, 2012

Quill Haven was just right for a quick but close getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the Rose room which is on the first floor across from the dining area. At first we were worried we would hear other guests but once the door was closed, we didn't hear a thing! The room was perfect! Breakfast was delicious, the grounds relaxing and the wine yummy! Carol and Rowland were very friendly and helpful in making recommendations on local restaurants and things to do. We would definitely recommend Quill Haven! Thanks for a great stay and the extra special touches for our anniversary! Mark & Mary Pittsburgh, PA

Awesome B&B in the Laurel Highlands!

5 on July 01, 2012

My husband and I spent three nights at Quill Haven Country Inn on our way home from Connecticut. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the last 20 years, and Quill Haven is now one of our favorites! It exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in the Rose room, which was large, very comfortable, and spotless. The house is set back from a busy street, but the large yard and beautiful landscaping make the traffic almost unnoticeable. Breakfasts were delicious, and the food was plentiful! Carol is a friendly and delightful innkeeper. After breakfast each day, she sat down at the table with us to chat. She provided lots of helpful information about things to do and see in the Laurel Highlands. We really enjoyed our stay at Quill Haven and hope to come back again soon! Eileen & Fred Nashville, TN

A beautiful, serene bed & breakfast

5 on May 16, 2012

My daughter and I stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn Easter weekend 2012. The service and breakfasts were excellent.. The atmosphere was very homelike. Carol, the proprietor, was very personable and made you feel like it was your home. Also, very helpful in guiding us around the area for our sight-seeing tour. The rooms are very clean and cheerful. We made reservations for Easter weekend of 2013.. We are anxious to get back for more relaxation and delicious breakfasts. We also enjoyed the farm-like atmosphere with the goats and chickens in the back of the property.

Charming and welcoming

5 on May 07, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quill Haven. Carol greeted us with good recommendations for dinner in town and got us settled into our space. Although two other rooms were occupied, we were hardly aware of the other guests except once in the common area. The furnishings and decor, whether in the common or private areas, demonstrated attention to details for comfort and interests. Having arrived in the dark, we had no idea of the wonderful grounds and setting (gentle hills and a few acres, goats and chickens, too) that surrounded us until the morning. It's a serene location right at the edge of town. Carol provided a great breakfast and friendly conversation as well. We will definitely include Quill Haven on our itinerary when we venture East again.

Excellent service, friendly

4.6 on May 07, 2012

Anticipated our every need. Nice balance between available to talk and giving us space to be alone. Great breakfast. Excellent value for the price!

Glorious!!

5 on May 07, 2012

Food was great, so was hospitality!! The innkeeper is wonderful, you REALLY feel at home! We WILL return!! (and not just cause we miss all the backyard pets!) -j&m

Loved those fresh-baked berry muffins!

5 on May 06, 2012

Our visit truly was lovely in every way. We highly recommend this B&B. The owner attended to all the details and and made us feel at home immediately. Breakfast was delicious too!

Home away from home

5 on March 17, 2012

This was our ( four couples) first bed and breakfast, and it was an awesome stay. Carol just makes you feel at home like your an old friend. Breakfast was out of this world, if you forget something she has it. We will be going back!!!

Felt like a home away from home!

5 on March 14, 2012

My family and I (four couples) chose this location to meet for a getaway weekend, halfway between Pittsburgh area and Northern Virginia. Our expectations were quickly surpassed by the genuine welcome we received! The house is beautiful and so very comfortable. The food was outstanding, especially the English Muffin French Toast. Carol was much more than a hostess - we left feeling as though we have made a lifelong friend. Please don't pass by Quill Haven without a visit! You will be hooked! See you again soon!

What a jem!

5 on March 08, 2012

I cannot believe what a little jem this place is. We spent the evening at 7 Springs and decided to stay overnight. We called Carol (the owner) late and asked for a room. She was completely welcoming and accommodating. We truly felt like we were visiting friends. The rooms were totally charming and impeccably clean. The breakfast was lovely. The double blueberry muffins were the highlight for my husband. I would definitely recommend making the trip to Somerset. Thank you, Carol. We look forward to returning soon.

THE Greatest Place!

Immaculate. Quiet. All have private Bathrooms. Wonderful Breakfasts. Great Owners!

relaxing and comfortable stay.

I would recommend this Inn for anyone passing through the Laurel Highlands or if you live near by, its a nice little get away!

Amazing...... "A+" Rating!!!

5 on February 28, 2012

Where do I begin... Quill Haven B&B was a pleasant surprise. Carol is truly an amazing person inside and out. I looked all over for different B&B's and I'm so glad I chose Quill Haven. I remember calling just to get a better understanding and better feel of the place .... and WOW did we have a great conversation. I told her I lived in Florida and I was working in Pittsburgh for the week and I wanted to do something special for my boyfriend's birthday. I was so nervous, not knowing what to expect and hoping everything turned out according to my MINI plans....LOL. She had these great packages to choose from, but since I needed something custom - Carol didn't hesitate to satisfied it. There are not many people in the world that go over and beyond the call of duty. We arrived late afternoon and we checked into the ROSE ROOM (first floor). We stayed for 2 nights. It was PERFECT. Balloons, roses, chocolates, champagne.......My boyfriend was truly surprised, but I was more surprised that she truly paid attention to details. Breakfast was amazing. She remembered everything I explained in her easy to fill out form online. From my boyfriend not having nuts or fruits, to him loving condense milk with his coffee (he's Jamaican...lol). It was like she knew us. Not to mention the hottub was 'right on time', seeing that it was nearly 30 degrees outside. Overall I have to say, staying at the Quill Haven B&B was a great experience. We will definitely be back. I give Quill Haven an "A" and Carol an "A+" Great Memories. Great Conversations. Great Moments. Peace of Mind.

first of many stays

5 on February 08, 2012

This was our first time to stay at a B&B and I must say that we were both very impressed. The only regret is that we could only stay for one night. After a long day of skiing at nearby 7 Springs, we showed up around 9pm to find Carol immediately available to give us the grand tour, and did so with the biggest smile. I felt right at home immediately. The room was fantastic, especially for the price, and the hot tub was incredible after a long day on the slopes. The breakfast was also outstanding with plenty of food to go around and it was not at all awkward eating with strangers because we instantly started talking and had great breakfast conversation. Overall this place can't be beat, I will definitely be back.

Will definitely go back!!!

5 on December 21, 2011

We chose Quill Haven because we were meeting up with extended family who are from Eastern Ohio and it is conveniently located in the middle of PA, about halfway between our locations. However, we will go back because of the absolutely friendly service, wonderful hospitality and excellent breakfast!! Carol could not have been any more hospitable. She's so personable and makes you feel at home. We didn't get a chance to explore the Somerset area so we'll definitely go back to Quill Haven and experience all that this wonderful area has to offer.

Great B&B

4.2 on December 20, 2011

We were meeting our family half way and choosing Quill Inn couldn't have worked better for us, what a pleasant stay. Wish we could have stayed longer

Top Quality - Quill Haven Country Inn

5 on September 28, 2011

Our second stay at Quill Haven was as great as the first. Carol, the proprietor, is terrific and at ease with every asspect of the inn. She knows the area, events, restaurants, places to visit, etc... There were four couples in our group and we had planned on staying for two nights but had such a good time we asked for a third night. We were accomodated even though one of our rooms was reserved - no big deal and we switched ourselves around and even convinced Carol (against her protests) to let us change our own sheets. The food and presentation was superb each morning and snacks, wine, games and videos were available each night. The rooms were all clean and neat, comfortable and individually decorated - there could be a bit more space available to layout clothes and things. All-in-all a great relaxing visit - we'll be back again!!

Elegance, Grace, and Charm

5 on September 23, 2011

My wife and I recently spent a wonderful weekend, plus an extra day because we enjoyed our stay so much. Carol's cooking was awesome! Breakfast was a genuine treat. The rooms were charming, meticulously maintained, and warmly inviting. We certainly plan to stay with our gracious hosts, Carol and Rowland, on our next adventure to beautiful Somerset, PA.

Enjoyed our Stay

4.8 on August 24, 2011

Carol was very accommodating and we loved it so much we stayed an extra night, the breakfast was delicious and the hospitality was over the top. Thanks again for making our vacation a fantastic one! From Wasaga Beach Ontario Canada

Short and Sweet

5 on August 23, 2011

My family and I were just passing through. Unfortunately, we arrived late and left early the next morning. The stay was not long enough but in the short amount of time spent there, we fell in love with this charming B & B. The suite was homey and the inn keeper was so wonderful to us (and her french toast was delicious) She made us feel right at home. We will definitely return for a longer stay. I highly recommend this B & B.

Perfect stay!

5 on June 13, 2011

This was our third time staying at Quill Haven. Carol, Roland, and family are friendly and make you feel at home immediately upon your arrival. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the food is delicious. If you are asked for a breakfast suggestion, request the mixed berry muffins. They are amazing and I've never had better!!

Somerset Gem

4.8 on March 01, 2011

I grew up in Somerset many years ago. Whenever my wife and I returned to visit, we usually stayed at one of the motels near the turnpike entrance. Never again! On our last visit, November 2010, we stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn. What a pleasant surprise. We were graciously received by Carol and her family, stayed in a beautiful and very comfortable room, and treated to a superb home cooked breakfast. The Quill Haven will be our "haven" in Somerset from now on. Joann and Rich Berkley

Highly recommend

5 on February 14, 2011

We had a wonderful stay at Quill Haven. Carol was a great host and great cook. Very convenient for skiing at Seven Springs and only a minute off the PA Turnpike

First Time B&B Guests. Exceptional Experience

5 on January 31, 2011

My girlfriend and I found the Quill Haven Country Inn through a Google search. We had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before and weren't entirely sure what to expect. From the warm inviting feel to the service to the hot tub to overall relaxation, we had an amazing time staying at the Quill Haven Country Inn. Carol was extremely nice and made us feel very welcome throughout our entire stay. The food was exceptional and we had a great nights sleep on both of the nights that we stayed there. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone, especially first timers like we were. You'll be very happy with making the choice to stay here! Daniel Chrest and Kimberly Hitchcock

Excellent Place To Stay!!

5 on January 23, 2011

Quill Haven is very clean, well decorated ,and very cozy. There are private baths and TV in every room. We stayed 3 nights during our Snowboard vacation at 7 springs. Carol makes your stay as comfortable as possible and goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. She also makes a super homemade breakfast (ask for the blueberry muffins). If you stay at at Quill Haven you won't regret it!

Excellent

4.0 on December 12, 2010

Very friendly, respectful, clean, wonderful stay. Catered well to our dietary restrictions.

Special 50th Anniversary

5 on December 07, 2010

We traveled to Somerset to celebrate our 50th anniversary and do family tree research. Our stay at Quill Haven was wonderful. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts, but this one tops them all. We were treated like members of the family!! The room was welcoming, the food superb and the conversation gave us many ideas of places to explore.

Warm and hospitable B&B

5 on December 07, 2010

Innkeepers were very accommodating. Dietary restrictions were not a problem to them. Food was first-rate! Innkeepers gave great recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants.

A Great B&B to Visit!!

4.8 on December 06, 2010

The Quill Haven B&B has the greatest hospitality. Carol makes you feel like you are at home. Everything is spectacular. We have stayed twice and plan on going again in the future. We won't even consider staying anywhere else.

Tops the Marriott!

5 on November 28, 2010

I stayed at Quill Haven Country Inn for two consecutive weeks when I was in Somerset on business. As a virtual employee, I travel weekly and have stayed in Marriott brand hotels about 650 nights over the last 4 years. Since there wasn't any Marriott in Somerset, I decided to take a chance and stay at a Bed & Breakfast. After reading the reviews for B&B's in Somerset, I chose Quill Haven. What a tremendous experience! My room was out standing, Carol & Rowland were wonderful and treated my like family; and their son was a great host too!! I can't recommend Quill Haven enough. Out with the Marriott, I'm hooked on B&B's after this stay. If you are traveling to Somerset, stay at Quill Haven Country Inn, you won't be disappointed!!

Pennsylvania Laural Highlands perfect getaway

5 on October 13, 2010

This was our third visit to the Quill Haven Country Inn. We like exploring all the facinating locations throughout the Laural Highlands and the Quill Haven is centrally located to almost all of them. Carol is such a wonderful person and is an excellent host. The food is excellent!! We had a very enjoyable stay and look forward to returning again soon.

The gold standard!

5 on October 05, 2010

Our stay at Quill Haven was exceptional. The innkeepers, Carol and Rowland, run a tight ship. The house, built in 1918, is in excellent shape. The price for all the amenities you get is outstanding. This is truly the gold standard by which all other B&Bs should be measured.

Great get-away

5 on September 30, 2010

After making our reservations to stay at Quill Haven, I asked about places to go in the area and Carol was most helpful even making reservations for us at several places. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Home was very cozy and clean. Carol made us feel right at home and I feel like I gained a new friend. Beautiful grounds to walk around on and make sure you visit the chickens and goats.

Vacation getaway close to home

5 on August 17, 2010

My stay at the Qail Haven Country Inn was brief but the minute I was on the property I felt that I was in another state far away from home. The property was set back away from the main road and the grounds were beautiful just like you would imagine at a B&B in the south. The innkeeper Carol was very courteous and explained the set up of the house and where everything was located and just was overall a very kind and warm person. My room was the ocean room which was nicely separated from the other guest rooms at the top of the house. Everything was clean and neatly put in its place on arrival. Carol offered dining information on what is good to eat in town which was great since I wasn't too familiar with the area. After soundly sleeping the night away my boyfriend and I arose to the most amazing delicious breakfast. I must say the blueberry muffins were to die for. The coffee was hot and the food was plentiful and there isn't a bad word I can say abut my experience except I wish I could have stayed longer!

Charms Galore

4.8 on July 29, 2010

We've stayed at many B&B's, but never had such outstanding food and service. Carol's breakfasts were exceptional, and she even made them gluten-free for me!

B&B to Remember

5 on July 23, 2010

Superlative breakfasts, charming rooms, most helpful innkeeper. We'll find many reasons to return here.

Best B&B

5 on July 23, 2010

Best B&B by far. True hospitality. Great breakfast. Elegant rooms. Beautiful grounds.

2nd visit as lovely as the first

4.6 on June 01, 2010

We stayed three nights over Memorial Day weekend. Carol and Rowland were wonderful hosts, giving us suggestions for hikes and activities in the area and staying on top of our needs while giving us our personal space, and just being nice people in general. The breakfasts were excellent, and the amenities (like the hot tub and cookies) are really appreciated.

Hedgehog Heaven

4.8 on April 01, 2010

Carol and her family at Quill Haven made our stay a relaxing, adorable time. Breakfasts were wonderful. My husband had to work from the inn, but he was never made to feel like he was in the way. We'll be back!

Quill Haven Country Inn

4.0 on March 29, 2010

Though the weather was cold, wet, and windy, the Quill was warm and friendly. The food and accomodations were excellent.

better than simply being nice

5 on March 24, 2010

Everyone has their own set of criteria for a great place to stay. Some like the decor; some prefer food and ambience. The Quill Haven has good beds better food and wonderful inn keepers who are thougtful and genuinely kind- My rate was reduced even though I arrived a day late. Mud season had begun. Rooms are spacious and baths are immaculate. I prefer a more austere room but when I consider the value of the kindness these folks showed me, a floor would have been a good value. five stars and a box of lemons from my tree!!

Very Nice Getaway

4.2 on March 06, 2010

My husband and I stayed for an extended weekend and enjoyed being able to just relax. The breakfasts were very good (muffins were outstanding). Thanx for a very nice getaway! We stayed 02/2010.

Gorgeous inn

5 on February 11, 2010

Inn is stunning example of arts and crafts style, just gorgeous wood trim and detailing inside. Innkeepers very helpful, breakfast great, good info on local attractions, hot tub out back. Bathroom a little small, but other aspects make up for that. Top floor suite would be greatest choice but is booked up a lot for obvious reasons.

Great Hospitality

5 on January 10, 2010

A friend and I were looking to connect halfway between Indiana and Connecticut to finish editing a book we were working on. We settled on Quill Haven and were thrilled by the hospitality and warmth provided by Carol and Rowland. Carol kept warm cookies coming while we took over the living room and back yard for our work. The rooms were lovely. At the end of the week my wife and mother-in-law joined us and were just as pleased. The Inn is located in a somewhat busy area, but we nevertheless found it quite quiet.

Everything was great!

Quill Haven Inn is wonderful! It’s a B and B. For the bed part, my husband and I stayed in the Rose Room on the first floor. The furniture was a beautiful matching set (oak, I think), a bureau, armoire, night tables, and dressing table with tri-fold mirrors and a padded bench. (My only complaint was that one night table is used as a TV stand thereby depriving one guest of a night table.) There was a queen-size, iron four-poster bed that had an electric mattress pad, a blanket and a rose-patterned coverlet. The mattress was firm and comfortable, the pillows okay. There was a love seat facing a TV with cable, DVD and VCR. The room also had an air-conditioner and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was small, but serviceable. The fixtures seemed new. There was even a night light. Towels were spotlessly white. There was a very pleasant common room, available to all guests, that had a fireplace, a book library, a TV with cable, DVD and VCR, and a large collection of DVDs and VHS videotapes, which could also be viewed in your room. The room also had a snack bar with a fridge with sodas, a microwave, and coffeemakers. The breakfast part of the B&B was delicious. There were juices, teas, coffee, and hot chocolate. The entrée was poached eggs on English muffins with a special chive butter sauce and sausages one day and a surprise version of French toast with ham or bacon the second day. There were also a baked good each day. The whole place was immaculately clean. Our hostess Carol was a delight. An excellent breakfast chef and baker, she was caring of her guests, eager to please, and generous with her time. We corresponded by email after making our reservation, and she was always prompt in her replies. This B&B is well worth its tariff; in fact it's a bargain. I highly recommend this inn and would stay there in a heartbeat should our travel plans ever take us out that way. If you stay there, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Laurel Highlands Best Kept Secret

Country Farmhouse updated for style and comfort. Innkeepers Carol & Roland have thought of everything. Relax on the deck in the hot tub. Breakfast is wonderfully prepared & served. We have been coming here for 10 years!

Special Place, Special People

5 on August 31, 2009

Quill Haven is an ideal way to get away from the hustle and bustle and to settle into a warm, comforting sanctuary. Carol is a wonderful hostess, whose breakfast is memorable for delicious food and her warm, witty companionship. Our room was snuggly comfortable, and the hot tub is a special extra at the end of a long day's drive. Our daughter even got in some unexpected play time with Carol & Rowland's younger son, including trampoline lessons! We've resolved to make extra effort to get back to Quill Haven as soon as we can.

A nice respite

A quaint inn, tucked off the main highway. Beautiful land, themed rooms and a lovely breakfast. Great place to recharge.

Fabulous!

5 on July 28, 2009

Having never been to a B&B before, my boyfriend and I weren't quite sure what to expect. However, we are both now converts to staying at B&Bs! Not only was the service fabulous, but the rooms were lovely and clean, the breakfasts delicious (those blueberry muffins were to die for!), and Carol, Rowland and their sons were welcoming and helpful. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed the stay, and many thanks to Carol for suggesting restaurants and helping with reservations to Fallingwater. The hot tub was a definite treat, as well! We'll definitely be back!

Home away from home

Our son and daughter-in-law brought us to PA to visit the Amish community and Falling Waters. But it was Quill Haven that provided us with a memorable stay. Thank you!

The inn is delightful and exactly as advertised. Carol is a warm and welcoming hostess who made me feel welcome the moment I arrived. After making sure that I was comfortable, she gave an excellent suggestion for dinner. Breakfast was charming and very good. I plan to return in the near future.

Quill Haven is Heaven

A wonderful B&B with superior attention to detail. Silky sheets, comfortable rooms, loads of DVDs to watch. We have been to many B&B's, and this is tops! The hosts make you feel like family.

Comfortable and accomodating

4.8 on May 13, 2009

The owner/proprietor went out of the way to accomodate us at the last minute. The location is very convenient. The room was spotless, roomy, and comfortable. The breakfasts were very tastey and filling. The common room with its amenitiess were a nice touch--TV/VCR, coffee, tea, cookies, games, books. Multi-nite discount appreciated. Definitely would stay again.

Quill Haven- Home away from home.

5 on March 29, 2009

Quill Haven is the Best of the Best. If you have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, Quill Haven is a must!!! Once you stay here you will be spoiled for any place else.  It is truly home away from home.  We do not live far from Somerset but when we just want to get away and relax our first and only choice is Quill Haven. Quill Haven was our first experience with a bed and breakfast and we have since stayed at others in our travels but all pale in comparison. Carol really makes you feel at home, right down to the freshly baked cookies when you arrive. If you don't take the opportunity to stay at the Quill Haven, you will be missing out on a lot.!!!!!!

Great Trip

5 on March 25, 2009

We had a great time at the Quill Haven Country Inn. The hospitality was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. They have added many extra touches to add that special element to your stay.

unexpected pleasure

5 on March 24, 2009

actually we ran across this B & B by accident while looking for alternate places to stay while skiing at Hidden Valley Ski Resort, and thought "let's try this B & B". We found ourselves impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the Innkeeper Carol and her family. We were made to feel welcome and special. The rooms were clean and "homey", and the meals were prepared with skill. You could tell Carol enjoyed catering to us right down to the dietary restrictions invelved. The hot tub was a welcome enjoyment, and the gathering room was well stocked. We wanted for nothing. We will definately be staying there again.

Quill Haven Stay Feb, 2009

4.6 on March 22, 2009

Our stay at Quill Haven B&B was fantastic. The place was absolutely great. Carol was a first class owner. She really made us feel welcome. The part that impressed us the most was that the experience was genuine. The house was gorgeous and the ammentities was very nice. We injoyed the hottub on a cold winter night with a glass of wine. We can't wait to make an excuse to get back up to Quill Haven Country Inn. We have stayed in B&B's in PA, Alaska, and Canada. The overall experience at the Quill Haven Inn was the best of all. We highly recommend this B&B.

The Behr Family Stay

5 on March 22, 2009

We had a fantastic stay at the Quill Haven Inn. The room was wonderful! Our three girls had a great time trying to find all the hedgehogs around the house. We would recommend this B&B to everyone looking to visit Somerset!

Great for a Winter Sports Wekend

5 on March 21, 2009

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Quill Haven in February of 2009. We had an amazing time and are planning on going back. The B+B was charming, with comfortable heated beds. In the evenings, we enjoyed homemade cookies, wine, and relaxing in the hot tub while looking at the stars. In the morning, Carol cooked an amazing breakfast. She accommodated our vegetarian dietary needs in an extremely delicious way (but also cooked something great for the meat-eating guests). For price, (which was low to begin with, but with the amazing breakfast and amenities was phenomenal) we would not recommend staying anywhere else for a weekend of winter sports in the Laurel Highlands

Great First Experience

5 on March 12, 2009

This was our first time at a B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed our rooms and visit. We especially liked the treats left for us before we went to bed. The rooms were cheerful and clean. Recommend Quill Haven to anyone who wants a clean, peaceful, place to stay!

Awesome B&B

Superb, friendly experience

4.0 on March 09, 2009

We were travelling from Michigan to Florida and just picked Quill Haven from the internet. It was more than we expected, from the genuinely friendly welcome from the owners' oldest son, help with the luggage, glass of wine and cookies, beautiful, warm interior of the home, pleasant and even entertaining company of the owners and their sons, excellent breakfast with special care for our dietary needs, and a lovely, comfortable room. We would definitely return whenever we are in the area. It is a very special place...not to be missed. It feels like home!

Best B&B Ever!

5 on March 05, 2009

The Quill Haven Inn is the best B&B I've stayed in. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and Carol always has a superb breakfast waiting in the morning. She had been most helpful in finding out information on sites in the area and goes out of her way to be helpful . We truly feel like "part of the family"!

Fantastic!

5 on March 05, 2009

We went and stayed at Quill Haven in lue of staying with my family. It was so nice we felt so relaxed and it made a "have-to trip" into a great vacation! They welcomed my son, Ian (14 months old) warmly and the boys all played together! Every member of the family introduced themselves and were warm and friendly! We truly did come in as guest and leave as family! We will be making many a trip back in the future and I have stayed in all of the near-by hotels and ski-lodges and still loved Quill Haven the best for the rooms, service, cleanliness and personalized experience!!! BTW- Breakfast is amazing! Also, having worked in customer service my whole life I'm very critical of others but there is not one bad thing I can even think of to say! Nothing that was even just "okay". Everything met and exceeded my expectations! -Lori, Kevin and Ian :)

Great experience

5 on March 04, 2009

We arrived after 9pm and were met by the friendly innkeeper and her son. She had a warm fire going and offered complimentary wine and homemade cookies - chocolate chip. The rooms and common areas are decorated very cute and extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was awsome and the conversation with the other guests and innkeeper was quite delightful. I would definately stay here again. It was quite convenient to the ski slopes as well. Great experience!

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

5 on March 04, 2009

We skiied at Seven Springs and then stayed there for the night. We loved the owner, she was wonderful! It was great to sit in the hot tub after being sore from skiing all day. The complimentary glass of wine and fresh baked cookies just topped everything off to make it a wonderful experience!

Friendliest inn-keeper you'll ever meet

4.4 on March 03, 2009

This was our first stay at Quill Haven, and hopefully not our last. Carol was by far the most caring and accommodating inn-keeper I've ever met. I commented to my wife that it felt more like I was visiting with family than paying someone to rent a room. The rooms were nice, and the blueberry muffins at breakfast amazing. Great place to stay if you're planning on going skiing for a few days in the area.

Charming and Exquisite

5 on March 03, 2009

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn for a week during our ski vacation this December and were very impressed. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very up-to-date. The hospitality was exquisite - Carol is very inviting and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and different every morning. Carol really knows the area and can direct you to excellent restaurants and tourist attractions. The hot tub out back is perfect for relaxing in the evening. We would highly recommend staying there if you are in the Somerset area and will definitely stay there again next time we are.

A Wonderful Retreat

5 on January 31, 2009

I was traveling on business and planned on staying just on 1/28, and with the snow decided to stay an extra night. I had a massage the first night and it was like I was on a mini vacation. My room was cozy and warm; the glass of wine by the fire made me forget that I was actually working. The breakfast included fresh berries in the morning and was just perfect.

Cozy B & B

4.6 on December 17, 2008

My husband and I made a last minute decision to do some winter hiking in early December and made our way to Quill Haven. It was snowing when we arrived and we were welcomed by our hostess, Carol, who directed us to our warm and cozy room. Our accommodations were clean, cozy and just what we needed after a day of hiking. Carol served us a hearty breakfast the next morning while she delighted us with conversation. We have been to other B & B's and found Quill Haven to be in our Top 5! Thanks, Carol.

A Complete Warm and Welcoming Stay

5 on December 12, 2008

This was my second experience staying in a B&B. But this stay truly was the best stay ever. I have been to the best of hotels and cottages. But this far exceeded my expectations. Our room was so beautiful and cozy. The inn keepers choices of colors and decorating style made me feel so comfortable and peaceful. I really did not want to leave. The house itself was so inviting. Every room made you feel at home and calm. It was such a wonderful stay. The inn keepers were so thoughtful. Nothing was left undone. I would love to return but next time for a longer time. I give them 5 stars in everything. The breakfast was awesome too.

Great Place to Stay

4.0 on December 10, 2008

My wife and I spent two nights at the Quill Haven Country Inn the first part of September ‘08. We prefer B& Bs because we like to meet the local people and usually get a better feel for the area than we would at a hotel. This B & B was exceptional. We were welcomed on our arrival by Carol who made us feel like friends arriving for a visit. We unpacked and then enjoyed a glass of wine on the back deck. This is truly a family business and we met each member all of which seemed to want to make sure that we had a good time during our stay. The pear trees were ripe for the picking and we were encouraged to help ourselves. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast selections. We enjoyed the “stuffed French bread” (stuffing was cream cheese and raspberry jam and of course the “green eggs and ham”. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay a couple more nights to try the other selections. The rooms are spacious and everything appears to be new, the family friendly and this is a place we will return to. We suggest that you get there early enough to enjoy the sun set and wine on the back deck or even relax the back and legs from the drive in the hot tub. If you are interested in cars, be sure and ask Rowland about the car collection. You may even be able to buy a vintage T-Top Trans Am. Doug & Marion Robinson

From over the ocean

Making a 4 week trip through Pennsylvania and New York State we spent much time at home praparing things - half of the joy! So we booked three nights at Quill Haven, and it was so beautiful to see that after several thousands of miles travelling everything was even better than expected! So nice people, so delicious breakfast and such nice talks about daily life in America and Europe! We certainly advise this address to stay! You will love it! Fantastic B&B Experience!

4.6 on November 12, 2008

My girlfriend and I stayed at Quill Haven while visiting Fallingwater. The B&B is close to the PA turnpike and Carol was ready for us when we arrived. She recommended the Pine Grill for dinner (awesome and affordable) and had breakfast ready first thing in the morning. She is a very welcoming innkeeper and we had a great time although we were only there for a short time. I highly recommend Quill Haven!

Delightful Stay

My husband and I stayed at Quill Haven on October 7,2008 - what a delightful experience. Carol could not have been more helpful arranging reservations for a tour of Falling Waters the next day, suggesting fine dining restaurants in the area etc. The room was pristine and most comfortable as was the parlor where we watched the apresidential debate while enjoying a very nice glass of wine. Breakfast was delicious and we felt that we were leaving a very close friend when we left the next morning. We will make it a point to stay there when we travel that way again. Linda

Fall Week-end Getaway

4.2 on October 21, 2008

I have stayed at several B&B's over the years, and by far, the hospitality we encountered was the best ever! Beginning with a couple of phone calls to Carol, she was knowledgeable in helping us plan our week-end in the beautiful area, even helping plan our route to make the most of the week-end and the Fort Ligonear Days that brought us to to area. Once we arrived she was so friendly and thoughtful, we felt welcome. Our accomodations were perfect for three friends traveling together and the morning repast and conversation with other guests was so pleasant. I will plan to stay with Carol and Rowland when I am again in the beautiful Laurel Highland area. Suzanne Coffman, WV

You wont be diappointed

5 on October 12, 2008

We have stayed in many B&B's over the years & Quill Haven has to be up there amongst the very best......if not the best.....! Whilst it is not the 'fanciest' B&B in the world, the owners are genuinely friendly (they don't just put on a face for their guests) & welcoming without being over the top. Breakfasts are superb & Quill Haven itself is a delightful property, which feels like a real 'home from home' from the moment you walk through the front door. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in this part of the world, look nowhere else........you won't be disappointed. Steve & Jacky, Doncaster, UK

I signed us up with the Run Away from Home package Carol offered and was greeted with beautiful red roses in our room. Also a part of the package was breakfast in bed. It was wonderful....no tea and toast but a gourmet breakfast! We also had a good time relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine. My husband and I did not know what to expect and staying at Quill Haven exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful time. Totally enjoyable from the littlest details of having a glass of wine available when you arrive to the beautiful room.

We were there two nights and it was wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath was very clean. Breakfast was a different menu each day with lots of choices if you didn't want the main item. We choose the big breakfast and it was great. We would definitely return there.

Months before out stay we asked our daughter to reserve us a some nights at Quill Have Country Inn. We had been there before. Quill Haven is clean, the food is delicious and appealing, our Hostess Carol is a great conversationist, and our room offered both the Olympics on TV and a romantic getaway. One of the most important features of a good B&B is that snacks like fresh chocolate chip cookies and drinks are available for no extra charge. You never feel like your having a cut-rate experience. Quill Haven and Carol make you feel welcome and cared for almost luxuriously. Need we say more? We're returning. Ron and Carol

A great place to stay when visiting Falling Water

4.6 on September 20, 2008

We wanted to stop overnight at a B&B near Falling Water and found a great little place at Quill Haven. As we pulled in, we were met by the Miller's younger son who happily took our bags and showed us in. The Miller family is warm and friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We enjoyed a glass of wine in their backyard, which has an impressive garden and was a nice place to relax after a long drive. In the morning, we took a 2 mile walk before breakfast along the woods and beautiful lake nearby. But, use bugspray if you do this in July...too many mosquitos. Breakfast was good and plentyful and the other guests were good conversationalists, so we left for Falling Water and Kentuck Knob well satisfied with our stay. If you're looking for a B&B in this area, Quill Haven is well worth the stay. -Rose Sherman

Our first time at a b&b and we were very pleased. Lots of attention to detail and we felt very much at home there. Excellent food choices for breakfast and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and attractions.

A haven away from home

5 on September 19, 2008

The innkeeper is very friendly and welcoming as she escorts you to your room and provides a tour of the home. I felt like family as she checked in with me re:my comfort and stay. She attracts other very friendly and kind guests. We talked easily among ourselves especially after Carol (the innkeeper) introduced us to one another. All in all it was a great visit and one that I look forward to every year!

Thank you

5 on September 19, 2008

Quill Haven is a very spectacular B & B, a perfect place to stay, and what a wonderful breakfast - Carol !!! We look forward to returning soon.

We ALWAYS Stay Here

5 on September 19, 2008

Whenever we travel from Cincinnati to points east, we will go out of our way (sometimes driving an hour extra) to stay at Quill Haven! We stay here when traveling both directions, too! I recommend Quill Haven to ANYONE who is traveling along I-70. There should be a rating category for "Innkeeper Friendliness" on this site. Carol and Rowland would also rate an "outstanding." We have now stayed in every room available here, and none of them disappoint! We stayed in the "Bridal Suite" this last time, and it is now my favorite. The "Rose Room" has a king-sized bed which we like, too. The breakfast is beautifully served, and tasty. The people who stay here are always wonderful to talk to, too. This B&B represents the BEST in all categories of why we stay at B&Bs.

Home away from home

5 on September 18, 2008

We had a wonderful stay at Quill Haven. It was like stopping to see family. The breakfasts were delicious and were served each day on a different place setting. This was a great stop on our way to visit Fallingwater.

Nice place, nice folks

4.8 on September 18, 2008

We found this B&B a delightful place to spend an evening as we made our way through PA. It has a very convenient location right off the turnpike or you can get there using scenic back roads as we did. Highly recommend it.

Quillhaven B & B

4.8 on September 18, 2008

A regular stop at the "Old Homestead" stomping grounds in western PA; best when one has an idea in advance to make a reservation. Always a first choice when accommodations are available. The host/owner always has great recommendations for local "things to do" and seasonal events--- good for all 4 seasons. Breakfast is always new, different, filling and a treat; it's possible to "place a breakfast order" the night before to see if the guerst can influnece the hostess' choice.

we returned

Friendly warm atmosphere. We have stayed twice and have found the quality to be consistent. You feel like you are staying with a family.

Best Kept Secret

5 on September 18, 2008

We stayed for a night to pick our kids up at a nearby camp and we will go back there every year! The host was gracious, personable and a good cook to boot! We had all the comforts of home, (except the clean-up) at a reasonable price. Great place to stay!!!

Can't Imagine a Better Place to Stay

5 on September 18, 2008

It is a fact that everything about our stay was outstanding. We stayed in the bridal suite for our 25th anniversary. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. On arrival we were greeting with a big smile by Rowland and made to feel welcome immediately. We were given the privacy we desired, but also enjoyed time spent the next morning at breakfast with Carol. The choice of the restaurant for dinner was just what we were seeking. The grounds are well maintained and relaxing. We would recommend the Quill Haven Country Inn to anyone who is looking for a great B&B experience at an outstanding value.

Wonderful haven for business traveler

5 on September 18, 2008

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Quill Haven. Since most of my travel is for business, most of my stays are in chain hotels. Regardless of the number of stars, all lack true personal attention and sincere friendliness. Quill Haven was a treasure! My only regret was that I had only 1 night to stay. Hopefully my business or personal travels will bring me back!

Wonderful stay

4.6 on September 18, 2008

We've stayed at the inn twice and both occasions were great. Atomsphere is very comfortable, rooms and public spaces are clean, maintained and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts are delicious, filling and unique. The innkeepers are quite friendly and it's just like returning to see old friends. Highly recommend this lovely inn.

Great 2nd Stay!

5 on September 18, 2008

Both stays at Quill Haven were perfect. Carol and her family made us feel so welcome! The room was clean & beautiful. The food was wonderful! I can't wait to go back!

Belated Honeymoon Paradise

5 on August 11, 2008

This is our second visit to Quill Haven and it was fantastic. The rooms are so clean and every detail is taken care of from sweets on your pillow to chilled sodas and homemade cookies. The host and hostess and there family are the BEST-you feel like going home to moms except nobody has to help with the dishes.

Fabulous weekend getaway

4.8 on July 26, 2008

This was our first say at a bed and breakfast so we weren't sure what to expect. Carol was a wonderful hostess with a great sense of humor, the ability to get the conversation going during an incredibly delicious breakfast, and had written directions ready to every attraction we were interested in. We will most certainly return and have already given Quill Haven information to friends looking for an affordable getaway that makes you feel well-rested when you leave.

Staying at Mom's

4.8 on July 25, 2008

Staying at the Quill Haven was like staying at "moms". Place was very clean and everything was taken care of for "you". Mom took care of everything including breakfast - and no nagging! Just Great!

Great Getaway Place

5 on July 08, 2008

My husband and I stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn for our anniversary. This was our first stay in a B & B. The room was spotless and cozy. Carol was very welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. We will definitely return to this B&B. She made you feel as if you were at home in her establishment.

Our stay - 2nd time!

5 on July 02, 2008

We stayed at the Quill Haven last year for our honeymoon & returned this year for a weekend anniversary celebration. It was even better this time. I think it will be a yearly getaway for us from now on!

QUILL HAVEN IS THE BEST

5 on June 23, 2008

We have stayed many times at Quill Have and each time Carol and Rowland make us feel like family coming home again. Look forward to many more wonderful nights in this relaxing place.

A real treat

5 on June 01, 2008

Quill haven was an excellent choice. A beautiful and comfortable house with everything you could need. Our room was spotless and a good size with a large bathroom. Carol is very personable, and ready to help you out with any needs. Breakfasts were excellent, and there was always fresh fruit dishes and several juices to choose from. There were really no negatives...and I can be picky about B&B stays. You truely do feel at home here.

Hedgehog Heaven

5 on May 27, 2008

Really can not say enough good about our stay. Carol makes the Quill Haven a place you want to return to again and again. The two BEST features were the hot tub on a cool night and the corn flake crusted French toast for breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable. The location is great. We will definitely go back for another stay.

A Good Roadtrip

4.0 on May 24, 2008

The windy, wintery weather could not alter the warm, welcoming atmosphere at this B&B. For a mother and son who love to take road trips, the downside of traveling is it leaves us weary and tired. We hit the road refreshed and content and thankful.

Warm and Welcoming!

5 on May 19, 2008

We had not seen our good friends for two years and wanted to find a half-way spot between their home in Ohio and ours in eastern Pennsylvania. We chose Somerset and in looking for a place to stay we found Quill Haven on the Internet. It turned out to be a perfect place for our needs and was equal to or less expensive than the area hotels. Carol welcomed us warmly and we were made to feel so comfortable. Because we had lots of “catching up” to do we spent much of our time in the library/sitting room. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were always available and even homemade cookies, as well as a bottle of wine. The breakfasts were wonderful! And so beautifully presented! We also had complete privacy as the family quarters are attached but separate from the B&B. We could not have chosen a better place to spend two days with friends! We highly recommend Quill Haven.

couldn't be better...

5 on May 15, 2008

We loved our stay at Quill Haven Inn in Somerset. Carol met us upon our arrival and showed us to our lovely room, as well as orienting us to the common areas of the inn. The sitting room with it's well stocked bookshelves was a delight, as was the complimentary glass of wine. After dark, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub--a nice way to end the day before climbing into our very comfortable bed. The next morning, Carol prepared a fabulous breakfast, then painstakingly drew a map to ensure we could find our next destination. We're looking forward to our return visit to Somerset in July---and to staying at this lovely, hospitable inn again.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

5 on May 14, 2008

My teen-aged son and I stayed here on a trip from the east coast to the mid-west. This was my second bed & breakfast stay and his first! This inn is so lovely and the innkeepers are wonderful! They truly make you at home and feel like family, without being over-intrusive. The rooms are first-rate and the food out of this world. I would stay here anytime and my son had a great time also (which is quite a compliment, given the whims of teen-agers!) If you have the opportunity to stay in this area, please make sure you visit this wonderful inn!

Second Visit

5 on May 14, 2008

This was my second visit to Quill Haven, but it was my husband's first B & B experience. I knew from my first visit that this would be a good introduction for him and we were certainly not disappointed. Carol Miller is a wonderful host and Quill Haven simply feels like "home". The decor is charming, comfortable, and clean, and her breakfasts are yummy. The grounds around the Inn are lovely too.

WOW!

5 on May 14, 2008

We found the best B&B the first try. Carol and Rowland make a wonderful team. Everything was tip-top inside and outside: from the first glance entering the driveway, coming onto the porch, or opening a closet. This was our first family vacation with our daughters and their family and we came back to their Dad's homeplace, it had been 24 years since they had been to Somerset. Our grandson enjoyed their sons which made our trip and stay even better. Such friendly guys, just like their parents. Oh, the food, ambience and many details that made us feel at home. We're already planning another trip from Florida and this will definitely be our home away from home.

Charming B&B

4.6 on May 13, 2008

We had a wonderful stay, we drove up Friday night and then went skiing the next day. I would definately recommend, and the breakfast was delicious.

Our favorite anniversary yet

5 on May 13, 2008

There is only one word to describe our experience at Quill Haven.."AMAZING". It was absolutely beautiful and Carol's breakfast was to die for! We recommend it highly and will definitely return.

Just passing through!

5 on May 12, 2008

We only stayed overnight, but the greeting was great and the help with our suitcase was very helpful as my wife and I are both older. The room was wonderful and comfortable, the deacor was cute. In the morning every care was taken to see that the breakfast was done to perfection and the service was outstanding. Overall our stay was very nice and comfortable, we will be back!!!!!

We had a great weekend!

5 on May 12, 2008

We met some friends for the weekend at Quill Haven and had a wonderful time. The accommodation's and the food were fantastic. 5 stars all the way around.

Ouill Haven was Heaven!

4.6 on May 12, 2008

Our group of 4 couples like to go on over night stays where we can spend time together. When they wanted to go to Seven Springs in February they asked me to make the sleeping arrangements I check the internet for B&B's in the area & found Quill Haven. We were pleased to find we had the entire B&B to ourselves. Everything was great. The rooms were spacious & clean. We all had privacy as each room had it's own bath. The owners were very nice & gave us just the right attention without being overbearing We had a wonderful time. Some of the couples had never stayed at B&B before but will be looking for B&B's next trip. The price was a big savings too!

wonderful experience

5 on May 12, 2008

In such a small town it is hard to find such a sweet retreat. Quill was were we stayed for our honeymoon and we will go back as often as possible. With the ski resorts so close, you couldn't ask for a better vacation.

Very homey and welcoming

5 on May 12, 2008

My stay at Quill Haven was extremely relaxing. I felt very welcome the minute I entered the door. Carol is the perfect innkeeper. The Inn is very clean and inviting. Carol is an expert on hospitality, and her breakfasts are great too. I would definitely stay at Quill Haven again if I am in the area.

2/08 stay at Quill Haven

5 on May 12, 2008

We stayed overnight at Quill Haven after a long day of skiing at Seven Springs. The B&B was convenient to the slopes. Our room was adorable, the breakfast was fantastic. Carol also recommended a great steak place for dinner. We hope to be back next time we go skiing!

Very relaxing weekend

5 on May 12, 2008

This was a rare weekend off for me and my wife and what better way to spend it than with Carol Miller in her beautiful B&B. Great hospitality and fine food in beautiful surroundings. And we forgive Carol for still having her Christmas decorations up in late February, it made things feel even more like home. Don't stay here if you don't like hedgehogs!

Charming, elegant B&B with luxuries I didn't expect

5 on May 11, 2008

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Quill Haven. Carol is a wonderful hostess who provides more details and luxuries than I would ever expect. My favorite was the wonderful bathroom in the bridal suite with its great soaking tub. She provides free soft drinks (the water was great) and a glass of wine in the evening, and is great with dinner recommendations. And the breakfast was the most delicious I've ever had! Everything we could have possibly needed was provided, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and I really didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this highly convenient B&B only a half-hour from Fallingwater.

First BNB stay

4.8 on April 15, 2008

This was my first BNB adventure and I found it to be very enjoyable, especially since I was iffy about feeling like I would be invading someone elses home. I was quite at ease, was made to feel comfortable, right at home, and very welcome. I don't miss many meals, and I'm glad that I didn't miss the ones we were served, very tasty and elegantly served. We all had enjoyed the conversation and company. We used the Quill Haven as a base camp for hiking the Laurel Highlands...what a wonderful way to end the day after a looooong hike :o)

The facility itself is lovely -- beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, with modern conveniences, while at the same time preserving the charm of a country B&B. The owners are totally accomodating and attentive, without being intrusive in any way. The breakfast Carol made was unbelievable, what I would call "gourmet comfort food." I would have paid twice the room rate that was charged, and still felt like I was getting a bargain.

Loved it!

4.8 on April 04, 2008

We stayed in the Bridal Room, the bathroom was huge and the tub was wonderful. The overall house is spotless, especially given all the knick-knacks that were everywhere (how do they dust those things?). We hiked all day while there so the hot tub at the end of the day was very welcome. But the best part was talking to Carol and eating those breakfasts...oh my gosh. Frankly I was a little surprised that the B&B was on a busy road, but now that I've stayed there, the rooms are perfectly quiet, spotless, comfortable, the ambiance is all I could ever want, and the hospitality was absolutely amazing. Carol is amazing at running this B&B and I would very highly recommend it to anyone.

delightful respite

We stayed in the Rose room . It was just beautiful. The entire house is beautifully decorated-one of the loveliest we have seen. Breakfast each morning was just delicious. Carol is such a sweet and caring person. She made us feel right at home. Her gracious hospitality was just superb. There were plenty of amenities including a hot tub and a porch swing. Movies on DVD, books, snacks, and hot drinks, water, or wine were available to guests at all times. We would love to stay at Quill Haven again and would definitely recommend it to our friends. We have stayed at many B&Bs and this is one of the best.

Years later we still remember our stay fondly

5 on January 08, 2008

For the better part of two decades, my daughter and I have traveled PA and stayed at countless inns visiting all 67 counties - at least twice. Our stay in August of 2003 at Quill Haven will forever be one of those inns that immediately comes to mind when we are asked "so where are your favorites?" better than being with relatives!

5 on January 08, 2008

Can't say much more than has already been said other than to stress how quiet and private the rooms are. We will definitely be back if we have the chance!

excellent stay

5 on January 08, 2008

We stopped for one night on the way home from visiting our daughter at the Univ. of Pittsburgh. Quill Haven is convenient heading east back to Philly area. We've been to many B&Bs and rank this among the best: pretty CLEAN quiet and comfy. Not only is the Inn delightful, but Carol is a wonderful person. Made us feel so relaxed because she is so relaxed and friendly. The Inns location is about 1/2 hr from Fallingwater and close to the Flight 93 memorial in Shwenksville. Carol had maps for us to the memorial and it was very worthwhile seeing it.

Beautiful home, cordial inn keepers!

My son qualified for the Pennsyvania Junior Wrestling Association's Championship in 2006. By the time we knew he had qualified the small number of motels in the Johnstown area were full. My wife suggested staying at a B&B. When we got out reservation at Quillhaven...home of many hedgehogs...I was sure we had found great accomodations. My goal was to find something quiet where my son could get a good night's sleep for our two nights stay. Everything from cookies in the livving room to our great breakfast was wonderful. To complement the nice furnishings our hosts...including two nice sons...were down to earth and very helpful. When I didn't know for sure how to find the venue Carol printed a map for me from the internet. Of several B&B's I have stayed in Quillhaven compares very favorably. I hope to return! Thanks guys!

A wonderful place to stay in Somerset, PA!

5 on January 08, 2008

My wife and I had the very pleasant priviledge of spending a night at Quill Haven this past October (2007). Carol and Rowland were wonderful hosts. This was our first time to stay at a B&B and it was an absolute delight. Should we ever return to Somerset we will stay again at Quill Haven. Rowland.. is the Austin Healy still in boxes??

Home away from home.

5 on January 07, 2008

The Quill Haven Inn is the reason we choose B&B's when we travel. They however, have spoiled us for any other B&B. We rate other places based on our experiences with the QHI and nothing even comes close. It compares to staying at grandma's when we were kids for the summer but only better. Carol and her family make our stay so comfortable that we hate to leave and are anxious to book our next stay. It truly is our home away from home. Even though we only live less than an hour away, when we want to get away from the stress of everyday life or celebrate a special occasion, The Quill Haven Inn is the place we think of first. They really make you feel like part of their family. If someone is thinking of trying out a B&B we always recommend that they try the QHI first to be able to experience the best of the best!!!!

lovely

5 on January 07, 2008

Although we only stayed one night, Carol definitely made us feel "at home" in her own home. We would recommend this B&B to anyone!

A True Haven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 on January 07, 2008

A Terrific First Time Experience

This was our first experience at a B&B. What a wonderful way to begin what may turn into a common practice. Carol is a fantastic hostess. She is funny, a marvelous cook and very helpful in finding specific places of interest to visit. You can't help but feel comfortable in this home and you will never want for a thing. A very, very enjoyable time.

Wonderful place

5 on September 14, 2007

When we booked the room for 3 nights we had no idea if it was going to be a mistake or a wonderful place to stay, but tired of Motels we gave it a try. After the first introductions, Carol made us feel at home, gave us the information needed and left us alone. She offers a nice breakfast every morning where we met many interesting and friendly guests. Overall the stay was a real plus and will book again if in the area.

Great Place!

We enjoyed our stay at Quill Haven thanks to Carol's warm welcome and excellent accommodations. It was our first stay at a Bed & Breakfast and we weren't disappointed. Our children felt right at home and wanted to extend our stay there. We hope to go again in the future and will recommend Quill Haven to friends and family.

FABULOUS !!!!!

5 on July 28, 2007

My wife and I have stayed at Quill Haven three times, and plan on going back in the Fall. Carol is a great host and always accommodating with anything you need. Her food is great, always a fantastic variety and more than enough to eat. We have stayed in three different rooms just for variety, and all three were ultra clean, homey and neatly decorated. Carol,s Hedgehog collection is fantastic. The Common Room, is a great place to relax, many books to read, games to play, and Carol,s cookies are indescribaly delicious. My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit.

You couldn't ask for a warmer or nicer hostess. They are well worth a second visit. We travel to see friends in Cincinnati and Quill Haven is a great respite for us. We hope that you will feel the same way.

Delightful B&B

5 on July 25, 2007

Our stays at Quill Haven have been extremely delightful. Quill Haven was our first experience at a B&B and we just love going there. The rooms are very clean and decorated differently for a peaceful, romantic evening. The breakfast’s that Carol serves are very filling and a culinary masterpiece, things that you would not normally make for yourself. Carol and her husband are a pleasure to talk with and their two boys are very charming and cute. Everything about a stay at Quill Haven is what you want out of it, peaceful and relaxing after a day of shopping or sightseeing, or very romantic for those special occasions. Carol is very accommodating to special requests and very helpful in recommending restaurants and local attractions. We have been going there for the past six years and recommend it highly. It is a great escape from the normal everyday life.

Quill "Heaven" Inn

4.8 on July 22, 2007

One taste of Carol's muffins and you will feel that you have entered another world. Her breakfast meals alone will make you wish to change your plans so that you may stay another day. Aside from meeting expected standards i.e. neat and clean, you will be charmed by her extensive collection of porcupine stuffed animals which serves as silent ambassadors for the Quill Haven Inn. As a female traveling alone, security is my first priority. I have been a solo guest and amongst a house full enjoying wine and cookies in the gathering room and have always felt at ease. A bonus is that each gurests room has its own bathroom. Wheather you are a tried skier and wish to relax in the hot tub or the early riser who enjoys taking their morning coffee on the front porch this is your haven away from home.

Refreshing Intermission

5 on July 21, 2007

Quill Haven Country Inn is a very spectacular Bed and Breakfast. The building itself is very attractive from the outside with lovely landscaping and flower arraign-ments creating a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Inside, the bedrooms, common room, and the lovely dining room are all neat, clean and more than comfortable with the bedrooms decorated and much consideration being applied for the names given to each. Likewise the dining room, table settings, breakfast menu and preparation are by far some of the most delicious recollections from my memory. Thank you, Carol, for some very pleasant memories. Coming Home

4.8 on July 21, 2007

Our first visit to Quill Haven B & B was with two other couples (sister, brother & their spouses). We all had a wonderful stay and wish it could have been longer. We just picked a mid-way point to meet for a couple days & nights to catch up and to take a side trip to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water, which is just a short drive from Quill Haven. Our hosts had the dining table set for an early morning start to breakfast. We made ourselves at home by clearing the table to play cards. We re-set the table before we went to bed and in the morning told our hosts about what we had done. They had no problem with this at all. Since our first stay, we have been back because of the homey feeling we get staying at Quill Haven. In fact my wife and I look for places to travel that pass by Quill Haven so that we can come back. Carol is always willing to offer suggestions on places to go and directions if need be. The hosts are always there when you need them and not there when you want time to yourself.

Great place to stay!

4.6 on July 18, 2007

This is one of those places that we will keep coming back to. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is outstanding. We are both vegetarian and Carol alwasy accommodates our needs. I highly recommend this place. It is very convenient to seven springs and the other ski resorts.

best place in the area

Country elegance in Somerset

5 on July 17, 2007

My husband and I have been staying at Quillhaven B & B for the past 6 years. The mountain foliage is awsome in the Fall and there are two excellent ski resorts, beautiful rails to trails bike path along the river and two (count em' ) Frank Lloyd Wright homes to tour- amazingly close together. Quill Haven is a beautifully restored farm house in Arts and Crafts style, and the rooms are light, bright and cheerful. Carol and Roland are excellent hosts and so very gracious.. breakfast will not disapoint you!. We look forward to our weekend there every fall...the hot tub and cool mountain air are a great combination. I highly recommend the experience!!

Somerset BnB

5 on July 15, 2007

I have stayed at Quill Haven on numerous occasions and Carol has been a great host and cooks a great breakfast. The rooms are very nice and the TV room is very well stocked with videos and books. This has been one of the best BnB's we have been at. We are not world travellers but if you are in Somerset PA this is the place to stay and have a great breakfsst as well. You will not be disappointed with Carol as your host.

Home from Home 3000 miles away

I stayed for 3 nights with my wife, sister & brother-in-law for 3 nights in september of 2006.Quill Haven offers the very best in comfort, friendlyness and wonderfull value. The breakfast, different everyday,is excellent. You won't need lunch when you have had Carols breakfast. We have stayed in a number of B&B's in America and this is right at the top for quality. Hopefully we will stay in Quill haven again, although it is some way from surrey, England

A Couples Getaway

5 on July 14, 2007

We have stayed there twice now or maybe three times. We have gotten to know the family pretty well. The place is quaint and the food and friendliness can not compare to anywhere else.

Homey B&B

5 on July 14, 2007

The food was delicious. The rooms were quiet, clean and beautiful. Carol makes you feel like your part of her family.

Felt like home

5 on July 13, 2007

Carol makes you feel like part of the family. It was like we never left home, everything was so comfortable and clean. We look forward to returning soon. The breakfasts were the greatest.

Utterly gorgeous Craftsman property

5 on July 13, 2007

When I was a child growing up in Somerset, I knew the family who lived here and visited often. Believe me, the beauty and graciousness of the house today is far more stunning than 40-50 years ago, but the warmth of the welcome is just the same. We NEVER stay anywhere else now that my Mother and our family home is gone.

ski weekends

I've stayed at the Inn at least a dozen times and always feel welcome and well taken care of - a real home away from home

Great place for a "girl's getaway" retreat

5 on July 13, 2007

We have used Quill Haven Country Inn for several years for an annual girl's getaway. Four friends living within 4 hours of the inn meet there each year for fabulous girls time. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast is always delicious and Carol is a wonderful innkeeper. We meet at Quill Haven soon for year number three! There are lots of fun day trips and restaurants within a short drive and Carol is ready with suggestions and reservations.

Great place!

Everything at Quill Haven Country Inn is great. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and the location is peaceful yet close to town. Breakfast is always marvelous - I always feel at home there!

Quill Haven- Multiple Stays

5 on July 12, 2007

Very cozy & comfortable; I'm originally from that area in western PA abd it definitely reminds me of home. Charming personality for the owner-hostess: Carol. She;s a great cook and the breakfast menu has been different every time I stayed there. Bonus: I love what's in the barn !

Can it get any better than this?

5 on July 12, 2007

Margaret and I have now stayed twice at Quill Haven. It is quite simply one of the very best B&B's we have visited we have visited 60 or more world wide. Friendly helpful eager to please they seem to live to make the stay happy and important for you, offering helpful advice. We will of course be visiting again we can't go as often as we would like it's a long way from Surrey in England but we will go and see our "Friends" at quil Haven

Review Quill Haven Country Inn

Charming home with all the amenities one could ask for or think of. Inkeeperes, Carol and Rowland are soem of the nicest folks you will ever meet. Ask Rowalnd about his squirrel stew!

Excellent B&B

5 on July 12, 2007

Quill Haven is an excellent B&B and a great alternative to the "Brand" hotels. At only a mile or so from the PA Turnpike, it is easy to get to and convenient for the "through" traveler or anyone staying in the area for a few days. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The Bridal Suite is especially nice, it has a little bit more elbow room and one of the best bathrooms and baths that I've ever used. The breakfasts are scrumpcious! We've stayed two or three different times. It sure beats the Comfort Inn or Raddison!

Annual Ski Trip

5 on July 11, 2007

Our family, which includes myself, my husband and five teenage/adult sons, started staying at the Quill Haven Inn when we go skiing at Seven Springs Ski Resort about three years ago. We have always had a wonderful time there. The rooms are lovely, the hot tub was great, and so were the hearty breakfasts. I love the potatoe/ham/cheese casserole. And, those homemade chocolate cookies in the evening were delicious. Staying there was 100X better than a hotel. Carol and Rowland treated us like invited guests. We didn't visit last year because we wanted to try SnowShoe instead. It was okay, but we like Seven Springs better. So, we will be back again next winter to enjoy the Miller's hospitality as well as, hopefully, some good skiing.

what a treasure!

My wife & I have had the pleasure of staying at QuillHaven twice now. Both times we were treated like family. The rooms, the food & the friendly atmosphere will keep us comung back. Five stars +

Very nice

5 on July 11, 2007

We stayed on our anniversary and the service and hospitality were excellent. The Bridal Suite was a nicely done and a good value too! We have done dozens of B&B's, and this one was one of the best.

Perfect Getaway

5 on July 11, 2007

This was our first time staying at a bed & breakfast. As soon as we stepped through the front door, we felt like we were in another world. The rooms are beautiful, the hospitality warm and friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. We have already made plans to stay there again this fall and can hardly wait!

Favorite B&B

4.8 on July 11, 2007

We like B&Bs that have king-sized beds available! The rooms are decorated extremely well, conveniences galore. Since we live in the Cincinnati, OH, area, Quill Haven is the perfect stopping place when we travel to the East Coast by car. Breakfasts are tasty, the company of the other guests is welcome. I always use the hot tub AND the library. If you need to jog, you can jog a loop of about three miles, mostly on less-traveled road, that goes through a nice neighborhood and by a lake. Carol and Rowland are attentive hosts - very personable! We really make a point of staying here, both coming and going!

mini-retreat

Enjoyed Carol and her great breakfast(s). We have stayed twice so far with a third visit for this fall. Rooms are clean and very good size, all with their own bathrooms.

A Haven

4.6 on July 10, 2007

We found this a little haven of friendliness and warmth run by a family who cares about all the details and going the extra distance to make your stay an experience to savor.

One of the Best

5 on June 05, 2007

My husband and I have stayed at a lot of B&Bs. Quill Haven now rates on our top 10 list. The beautifully renovated farmhouse is tastefully decorated and the gardens are fantastic. The attention to detail and services/amenities provided guests are outstanding. Most importantly, Carol, the innkeeper, is a "jewel." She is the kind of innkeeper you wished operated every B&B you stayed at! The fabulous breakfast, beautiful surroundings, Carol, and the affordable rates, make this B&B a "10" in my book! Quill Haven is truly a family affair.

Great find!

5 on May 29, 2007

Had an enjoyable weekend stay at Quill Haven. My wife & I were visiting the area to tour Falling Water & Kentuck Knob. The innkeepers are very friendly, the rooms are quiet and clean, and the breakfast each morning was outstanding!

Perfect!

5 on May 22, 2007

If you are looking for a perfect stay while in the Somerset area of PA, this is it. Quill Haven offers many ammenities as well as the most welcoming Owners of any B & B we've ever had the opportunity to visit. Quill Haven is exceptionally clean and extremely well maintained. The atmosphere is very comfortable and charming. There are so many personal touches at this Inn, both inside and out, that one feels at once at home and very comfortable. Carol is a wonderful person and a great cook, as well! We highly recommend this B & B!

Outstanding

5 on May 21, 2007

The accommodations were clean and tasteful and the hot tub was a huge plus after a hard day of hiking. What makes this place truly unique are the Millers. They are warm, hospitable people who make you feel very comfortable right away. The result is a wonderful combination of privacy plus space together with the warmth of a home. Both Carol and Rowland pay attention to detail, whether it has to do with advice about hiking, or about serving breakfast. Last but not least, we thoroughly enjoyed Carol's baked goods and breakfast in general. We highly recommend this place!

Relaxing Getaway

5 on May 20, 2007

The room, food, owners, guests and location were all perfect. I really needed a place to go to relax and recharge. The Inn was quiet which allowed me to sleep soundly each night. My favorite thing was coffee on the porch swing in the morning, and wine in the evening followed by a dip in the hot tub. It was absolutely perfect!

First B&B

5 on April 16, 2007

This was the first B&B my wife and I ever stayed in. On a scale of 1-5,everything aspect was AT LEAST a 6. The rooms, the food,service,hospitality...just everything. There were 6 in our and we definitely will all return. Carol is such a friendly, outgoing person...the ideal hostess for a B&B and a real asset to the B&B community. She pays great attention to every detail. They really set a standard for the entire industry!

Fabulous

5 on April 02, 2007

Where do I start? There is so much positive things to say about staying at the Quill Haven Counry Inn I don't know where to start. Let's start with the best first and save the best till the end too. The Best would be the customer service by Carol Rowland. Oh my gosh! She treats you like your a part of her family and treats you the same every time you go back. You actually become part of her family. Her husband and Children are absolutely wonderful. The Rowlan's personality towards their guest is what makes staying at this B&B the most wonderful experience. Second the Food. Oh my gosh her food is absolutely awesome. The presentation of the breakfast and plate ware is beautifual. Again Carol tops it off with her fabolous personality. The rooms are clean, refreshing and a home away from home feeling. I have never in my life met such a wonderful family and the customer service is beyond anything I have ever experiened anywhere I've every stayed. The quite and serenty is what really adds such a special touch to your stay. You feel like your sleeping on clouds in every bed. the convenience of the stores is also a added touch. So I feel like I finaly have my vacation getaway home for me and my family. I must add that I had never met Carol and Rowland before till I stayed here and when you leave you will feel the same as I do like you have met two wonderful people who instantly become your friend. WE LOVE STAYING HERE IT IS JUST FABULOUS!!!!
