Quill Haven Country Inn

This was our first time to stay at a B&B and I must say that we were both very impressed. The only regret is that we could only stay for one night. After a long day of skiing at nearby 7 Springs, we showed up around 9pm to find Carol immediately available to give us the grand tour, and did so with the biggest smile. I felt right at home immediately. The room was fantastic, especially for the price, and the hot tub was incredible after a long day on the slopes. The breakfast was also outstanding with plenty of food to go around and it was not at all awkward eating with strangers because we instantly started talking and had great breakfast conversation. Overall this place can't be beat, I will definitely be back.

We chose Quill Haven because we were meeting up with extended family who are from Eastern Ohio and it is conveniently located in the middle of PA, about halfway between our locations. However, we will go back because of the absolutely friendly service, wonderful hospitality and excellent breakfast!! Carol could not have been any more hospitable. She's so personable and makes you feel at home. We didn't get a chance to explore the Somerset area so we'll definitely go back to Quill Haven and experience all that this wonderful area has to offer.

Our second stay at Quill Haven was as great as the first. Carol, the proprietor, is terrific and at ease with every asspect of the inn. She knows the area, events, restaurants, places to visit, etc... There were four couples in our group and we had planned on staying for two nights but had such a good time we asked for a third night. We were accomodated even though one of our rooms was reserved - no big deal and we switched ourselves around and even convinced Carol (against her protests) to let us change our own sheets. The food and presentation was superb each morning and snacks, wine, games and videos were available each night. The rooms were all clean and neat, comfortable and individually decorated - there could be a bit more space available to layout clothes and things. All-in-all a great relaxing visit - we'll be back again!!

My family and I were just passing through. Unfortunately, we arrived late and left early the next morning. The stay was not long enough but in the short amount of time spent there, we fell in love with this charming B & B. The suite was homey and the inn keeper was so wonderful to us (and her french toast was delicious) She made us feel right at home. We will definitely return for a longer stay. I highly recommend this B & B.

This was our third time staying at Quill Haven. Carol, Roland, and family are friendly and make you feel at home immediately upon your arrival. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the food is delicious. If you are asked for a breakfast suggestion, request the mixed berry muffins. They are amazing and I've never had better!!

I grew up in Somerset many years ago. Whenever my wife and I returned to visit, we usually stayed at one of the motels near the turnpike entrance. Never again! On our last visit, November 2010, we stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn. What a pleasant surprise. We were graciously received by Carol and her family, stayed in a beautiful and very comfortable room, and treated to a superb home cooked breakfast. My girlfriend and I found the Quill Haven Country Inn through a Google search. We had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before and weren't entirely sure what to expect. From the warm inviting feel to the service to the hot tub to overall relaxation, we had an amazing time staying at the Quill Haven Country Inn. Carol was extremely nice and made us feel very welcome throughout our entire stay. The food was exceptional and we had a great nights sleep on both of the nights that we stayed there. Quill Haven is very clean, well decorated ,and very cozy. There are private baths and TV in every room. We stayed 3 nights during our Snowboard vacation at 7 springs. Carol makes your stay as comfortable as possible and goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. She also makes a super homemade breakfast (ask for the blueberry muffins). If you stay at at Quill Haven you won't regret it!

We traveled to Somerset to celebrate our 50th anniversary and do family tree research. Our stay at Quill Haven was wonderful. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts, but this one tops them all. We were treated like members of the family!! The room was welcoming, the food superb and the conversation gave us many ideas of places to explore.

Innkeepers were very accommodating. Dietary restrictions were not a problem to them. Food was first-rate! Innkeepers gave great recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants.

The Quill Haven B&B has the greatest hospitality. Carol makes you feel like you are at home. Everything is spectacular. We have stayed twice and plan on going again in the future. We won't even consider staying anywhere else.

I stayed at Quill Haven Country Inn for two consecutive weeks when I was in Somerset on business. As a virtual employee, I travel weekly and have stayed in Marriott brand hotels about 650 nights over the last 4 years. Since there wasn't any Marriott in Somerset, I decided to take a chance and stay at a Bed & Breakfast. After reading the reviews for B&B's in Somerset, I chose Quill Haven. What a tremendous experience! My room was out standing, Carol & Rowland were wonderful and treated my like family; and their son was a great host too!! I can't recommend Quill Haven enough. Out with the Marriott, I'm hooked on B&B's after this stay. If you are traveling to Somerset, stay at Quill Haven Country Inn, you won't be disappointed!!

This was our third visit to the Quill Haven Country Inn. We like exploring all the facinating locations throughout the Laural Highlands and the Quill Haven is centrally located to almost all of them. Carol is such a wonderful person and is an excellent host. The food is excellent!! We had a very enjoyable stay and look forward to returning again soon.

Our stay at Quill Haven was exceptional. The innkeepers, Carol and Rowland, run a tight ship. The house, built in 1918, is in excellent shape. The price for all the amenities you get is outstanding. This is truly the gold standard by which all other B&Bs should be measured.

After making our reservations to stay at Quill Haven, I asked about places to go in the area and Carol was most helpful even making reservations for us at several places. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Home was very cozy and clean. Carol made us feel right at home and I feel like I gained a new friend. Beautiful grounds to walk around on and make sure you visit the chickens and goats.

My stay at the Qail Haven Country Inn was brief but the minute I was on the property I felt that I was in another state far away from home. The property was set back away from the main road and the grounds were beautiful just like you would imagine at a B&B in the south. The innkeeper Carol was very courteous and explained the set up of the house and where everything was located and just was overall a very kind and warm person. My room was the ocean room which was nicely separated from the other guest rooms at the top of the house. Everything was clean and neatly put in its place on arrival. Carol offered dining information on what is good to eat in town which was great since I wasn't too familiar with the area. After soundly sleeping the night away my boyfriend and I arose to the most amazing delicious breakfast. I must say the blueberry muffins were to die for. The coffee was hot and the food was plentiful and there isn't a bad word I can say abut my experience except I wish I could have stayed longer!

We've stayed at many B&B's, but never had such outstanding food and service. Carol's breakfasts were exceptional, and she even made them gluten-free for me!

We stayed three nights over Memorial Day weekend. Carol and Rowland were wonderful hosts, giving us suggestions for hikes and activities in the area and staying on top of our needs while giving us our personal space, and just being nice people in general. The breakfasts were excellent, and the amenities (like the hot tub and cookies) are really appreciated.

Carol and her family at Quill Haven made our stay a relaxing, adorable time. Breakfasts were wonderful. My husband had to work from the inn, but he was never made to feel like he was in the way. We'll be back!

Though the weather was cold, wet, and windy, the Quill was warm and friendly. The food and accomodations were excellent.

Everyone has their own set of criteria for a great place to stay. Some like the decor; some prefer food and ambience. The Quill Haven has good beds better food and wonderful inn keepers who are thougtful and genuinely kind- My rate was reduced even though I arrived a day late. Mud season had begun. Rooms are spacious and baths are immaculate. I prefer a more austere room but when I consider the value of the kindness these folks showed me, a floor would have been a good value. five stars and a box of lemons from my tree!!

My husband and I stayed for an extended weekend and enjoyed being able to just relax. The breakfasts were very good (muffins were outstanding). Thanx for a very nice getaway! We stayed 02/2010.

Inn is stunning example of arts and crafts style, just gorgeous wood trim and detailing inside. Innkeepers very helpful, breakfast great, good info on local attractions, hot tub out back. Bathroom a little small, but other aspects make up for that. Top floor suite would be greatest choice but is booked up a lot for obvious reasons.

A friend and I were looking to connect halfway between Indiana and Connecticut to finish editing a book we were working on. We settled on Quill Haven and were thrilled by the hospitality and warmth provided by Carol and Rowland. Carol kept warm cookies coming while we took over the living room and back yard for our work. The rooms were lovely. At the end of the week my wife and mother-in-law joined us and were just as pleased. The Inn is located in a somewhat busy area, but we nevertheless found it quite quiet.

Quill Haven Inn is wonderful! It’s a B and B. For the bed part, my husband and I stayed in the Rose Room on the first floor. The furniture was a beautiful matching set (oak, I think), a bureau, armoire, night tables, and dressing table with tri-fold mirrors and a padded bench. (My only complaint was that one night table is used as a TV stand thereby depriving one guest of a night table.) There was a queen-size, iron four-poster bed that had an electric mattress pad, a blanket and a rose-patterned coverlet. The mattress was firm and comfortable, the pillows okay. There was a love seat facing a TV with cable, DVD and VCR. The room also had an air-conditioner and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was small, but serviceable. The fixtures seemed new. There was even a night light. Towels were spotlessly white. There was a very pleasant common room, available to all guests, that had a fireplace, a book library, a TV with cable, DVD and VCR, and a large collection of DVDs and VHS videotapes, which could also be viewed in your room. The room also had a snack bar with a fridge with sodas, a microwave, and coffeemakers. The breakfast part of the B&B was delicious. There were juices, teas, coffee, and hot chocolate. The entrée was poached eggs on English muffins with a special chive butter sauce and sausages one day and a surprise version of French toast with ham or bacon the second day. There were also a baked good each day. The whole place was immaculately clean. Our hostess Carol was a delight. An excellent breakfast chef and baker, she was caring of her guests, eager to please, and generous with her time. We corresponded by email after making our reservation, and she was always prompt in her replies. This B&B is well worth its tariff; in fact it's a bargain. I highly recommend this inn and would stay there in a heartbeat should our travel plans ever take us out that way. If you stay there, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Country Farmhouse updated for style and comfort. Innkeepers Carol & Roland have thought of everything. Relax on the deck in the hot tub. Breakfast is wonderfully prepared & served. We have been coming here for 10 years!

Quill Haven is an ideal way to get away from the hustle and bustle and to settle into a warm, comforting sanctuary. Carol is a wonderful hostess, whose breakfast is memorable for delicious food and her warm, witty companionship. Our room was snuggly comfortable, and the hot tub is a special extra at the end of a long day's drive. Our daughter even got in some unexpected play time with Carol & Rowland's younger son, including trampoline lessons! We've resolved to make extra effort to get back to Quill Haven as soon as we can.

A quaint inn, tucked off the main highway. Beautiful land, themed rooms and a lovely breakfast. Great place to recharge.

Having never been to a B&B before, my boyfriend and I weren't quite sure what to expect. However, we are both now converts to staying at B&Bs! Not only was the service fabulous, but the rooms were lovely and clean, the breakfasts delicious (those blueberry muffins were to die for!), and Carol, Rowland and their sons were welcoming and helpful. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed the stay, and many thanks to Carol for suggesting restaurants and helping with reservations to Fallingwater. The hot tub was a definite treat, as well! We'll definitely be back!

Our son and daughter-in-law brought us to PA to visit the Amish community and Falling Waters. But it was Quill Haven that provided us with a memorable stay. Thank you!

The inn is delightful and exactly as advertised. Carol is a warm and welcoming hostess who made me feel welcome the moment I arrived. After making sure that I was comfortable, she gave an excellent suggestion for dinner. Breakfast was charming and very good. I plan to return in the near future.

A wonderful B&B with superior attention to detail. Silky sheets, comfortable rooms, loads of DVDs to watch. We have been to many B&B's, and this is tops! The hosts make you feel like family.

The owner/proprietor went out of the way to accomodate us at the last minute. The location is very convenient. The room was spotless, roomy, and comfortable. The breakfasts were very tastey and filling. The common room with its amenitiess were a nice touch--TV/VCR, coffee, tea, cookies, games, books. Multi-nite discount appreciated. Definitely would stay again.

Quill Haven is the Best of the Best. If you have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, Quill Haven is a must!!! Once you stay here you will be spoiled for any place else.  It is truly home away from home.  We do not live far from Somerset but when we just want to get away and relax our first and only choice is Quill Haven. Quill Haven was our first experience with a bed and breakfast and we have since stayed at others in our travels but all pale in comparison. Carol really makes you feel at home, right down to the freshly baked cookies when you arrive. If you don't take the opportunity to stay at the Quill Haven, you will be missing out on a lot.!!!!!!

actually we ran across this B & B by accident while looking for alternate places to stay while skiing at Hidden Valley Ski Resort, and thought "let's try this B & B". We found ourselves impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the Innkeeper Carol and her family. We were made to feel welcome and special. The rooms were clean and "homey", and the meals were prepared with skill. You could tell Carol enjoyed catering to us right down to the dietary restrictions invelved. The hot tub was a welcome enjoyment, and the gathering room was well stocked. We wanted for nothing. We will definately be staying there again.

Our stay at Quill Haven B&B was fantastic. The place was absolutely great. Carol was a first class owner. She really made us feel welcome. We had a fantastic stay at the Quill Haven Inn. The room was wonderful! Our three girls had a great time trying to find all the hedgehogs around the house. We would recommend this B&B to everyone looking to visit Somerset!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Quill Haven in February of 2009. We had an amazing time and are planning on going back. The B+B was charming, with comfortable heated beds. In the evenings, we enjoyed homemade cookies, wine, and relaxing in the hot tub while looking at the stars. In the morning, Carol cooked an amazing breakfast. She accommodated our vegetarian dietary needs in an extremely delicious way (but also cooked something great for the meat-eating guests). For price, (which was low to begin with, but with the amazing breakfast and amenities was phenomenal) we would not recommend staying anywhere else for a weekend of winter sports in the Laurel Highlands

This was our first time at a B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed our rooms and visit. We especially liked the treats left for us before we went to bed. The rooms were cheerful and clean. Recommend Quill Haven to anyone who wants a clean, peaceful, place to stay!

We were travelling from Michigan to Florida and just picked Quill Haven from the internet. It was more than we expected, from the genuinely friendly welcome from the owners' oldest son, help with the luggage, glass of wine and cookies, beautiful, warm interior of the home, pleasant and even entertaining company of the owners and their sons, excellent breakfast with special care for our dietary needs, and a lovely, comfortable room. We would definitely return whenever we are in the area. It is a very special place...not to be missed. It feels like home!

The Quill Haven Inn is the best B&B I've stayed in. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and Carol always has a superb breakfast waiting in the morning. She had been most helpful in finding out information on sites in the area and goes out of her way to be helpful . We truly feel like "part of the family"!

We went and stayed at Quill Haven in lue of staying with my family. It was so nice we felt so relaxed and it made a "have-to trip" into a great vacation! They welcomed my son, Ian (14 months old) warmly and the boys all played together! Every member of the family introduced themselves and were warm and friendly! We truly did come in as guest and leave as family! We will be making many a trip back in the future and I have stayed in all of the near-by hotels and ski-lodges and still loved Quill Haven the best for the rooms, service, cleanliness and personalized experience!!! BTW- Breakfast is amazing! Also, having worked in customer service my whole life I'm very critical of others but there is not one bad thing I can even think of to say! We arrived after 9pm and were met by the friendly innkeeper and her son. She had a warm fire going and offered complimentary wine and homemade cookies - chocolate chip. The rooms and common areas are decorated very cute and extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was awsome and the conversation with the other guests and innkeeper was quite delightful. I would definately stay here again. It was quite convenient to the ski slopes as well. Great experience!

We skiied at Seven Springs and then stayed there for the night. We loved the owner, she was wonderful! It was great to sit in the hot tub after being sore from skiing all day. The complimentary glass of wine and fresh baked cookies just topped everything off to make it a wonderful experience!

This was our first stay at Quill Haven, and hopefully not our last. Carol was by far the most caring and accommodating inn-keeper I've ever met. I commented to my wife that it felt more like I was visiting with family than paying someone to rent a room. The rooms were nice, and the blueberry muffins at breakfast amazing. Great place to stay if you're planning on going skiing for a few days in the area.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn for a week during our ski vacation this December and were very impressed. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very up-to-date. The hospitality was exquisite - Carol is very inviting and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and different every morning. Carol really knows the area and can direct you to excellent restaurants and tourist attractions. The hot tub out back is perfect for relaxing in the evening. We would highly recommend staying there if you are in the Somerset area and will definitely stay there again next time we are.

I was traveling on business and planned on staying just on 1/28, and with the snow decided to stay an extra night. I had a massage the first night and it was like I was on a mini vacation. My room was cozy and warm; the glass of wine by the fire made me forget that I was actually working. The breakfast included fresh berries in the morning and was just perfect.

My husband and I made a last minute decision to do some winter hiking in early December and made our way to Quill Haven. It was snowing when we arrived and we were welcomed by our hostess, Carol, who directed us to our warm and cozy room. Our accommodations were clean, cozy and just what we needed after a day of hiking. Carol served us a hearty breakfast the next morning while she delighted us with conversation. We have been to other B & B's and found Quill Haven to be in our Top 5! Thanks, Carol.

This was my second experience staying in a B&B. But this stay truly was the best stay ever. I have been to the best of hotels and cottages. But this far exceeded my expectations. Our room was so beautiful and cozy. The inn keepers choices of colors and decorating style made me feel so comfortable and peaceful. I really did not want to leave. The house itself was so inviting. Every room made you feel at home and calm. It was such a wonderful stay. The inn keepers were so thoughtful. Nothing was left undone. I would love to return but next time for a longer time. I give them 5 stars in everything.The breakfast was awesome too.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Quill Haven Country Inn the first part of September ‘08. We prefer B& Bs because we like to meet the local people and usually get a better feel for the area than we would at a hotel. This B & B was exceptional. We were welcomed on our arrival by Carol who made us feel like friends arriving for a visit. We unpacked and then enjoyed a glass of wine on the back deck. This is truly a family business and we met each member all of which seemed to want to make sure that we had a good time during our stay. The pear trees were ripe for the picking and we were encouraged to help ourselves. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast selections. We enjoyed the “stuffed French bread” (stuffing was cream cheese and raspberry jam and of course the “green eggs and ham”. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay a couple more nights to try the other selections. The rooms are spacious and everything appears to be new, the family friendly and this is a place we will return to. We suggest that you get there early enough to enjoy the sun set and wine on the back deck or even relax the back and legs from the drive in the hot tub. Making a 4 week trip through Pennsylvania and New York State we spent much time at home praparing things - half of the joy! So we booked three nights at Quill Haven, and it was so beautiful to see that after several thousands of miles travelling everything was even better than expected! So nice people, so delicious breakfast and such nice talks about daily life in America and Europe! We certainly advise this address to stay! You will love it! My girlfriend and I stayed at Quill Haven while visiting Fallingwater. The B&B is close to the PA turnpike and Carol was ready for us when we arrived. She recommended the Pine Grill for dinner (awesome and affordable) and had breakfast ready first thing in the morning. She is a very welcoming innkeeper and we had a great time although we were only there for a short time. I highly recommend Quill Haven!

Our daughter and son in law gave my husband and I a night at Quill Haven for a gift and we celebrated our 32nd anniversary at the inn. Carol warmly greeted us at the door and we immediately felt like we were visiting family. The Bridal Suite was just amazing with all of the nice touches and the breakfast was full of conversation and laughter and delicious food. We will certainly be returning.

I have stayed at several B&B's, but none as nice as Quill Haven. It is beautifully decorated, but more importantly, it is immaculately clean! The innkeepers are great!

My husband and I stayed at Quill Haven on October 7,2008 - what a delightful experience. Carol could not have been more helpful arranging reservations for a tour of Falling Waters the next day, suggesting fine dining restaurants in the area etc. The room was pristine and most comfortable as was the parlor where we watched the apresidential debate while enjoying a very nice glass of wine. We had a wonderful 33 rd anniversary stay at Quill Haven. The Bridal Suite was beautiful. The location is lovely, in the hills of Western Pennsylvania. The service and food was exceptional and the innkeepers are like family. We really enjoyed our stay.

We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at the Quill Haven B&B and it was fabulous. Carol and Rowland are awesome innkeepers. Everything about their B&B is fantastic. Carol's breakfast was mouthwatering and her referral of the Pine Grill for dinner was wonderful. We will be telling all of our friends about the Quill Haven Inn. Go Hedgehogs!!!!

I have stayed at several B&B's over the years, and by far, the hospitality we encountered was the best ever! Beginning with a couple of phone calls to Carol, she was knowledgeable in helping us plan our week-end in the beautiful area, even helping plan our route to make the most of the week-end and the Fort Ligonear Days that brought us to to area. Once we arrived she was so friendly and thoughtful, we felt welcome. Our accomodations were perfect for three friends traveling together and the morning repast and conversation with other guests was so pleasant. Nicely decorated rooms, a spacious bath, interesting grounds, a delicious breakfast, a friendly and helpful hostess and in the heart of Somerset. What more can you ask for? And all at a very reasonable price! At last an Inn keeper who has figured out that you build a business by retaining customers and delivering quality and value.

My Girlfriend and I stayed here over a 3 day weekend back in August of 2008 for a friend's wedding. We had a wonderful time. The Inn was both comfortable and beautiful and the food was just amazing. The owners are the nicest and warmest people. We would stay here again in a heartbeat :-)

My wife and I spent a weekend with Carol and Roland and had a fantastic time. The breakfast is great and so are all the rooms and amenities. We will definitely return and would recommend to others.

thanks for another great stay (our 3rd). as always everything was perfect. thanks for going out of your way to accomodate our travel plans by letting us check in early in the day as we continued out trip to Pittsburgh to visit relatives. It was nice knowing when we got back that evening everything was in order and we would not have to worry about catching up to you late in the evening. Breakfast was great as usual and it was fun catching up on what is going on since our last visit. Looking forward to our next visit in 09!

I stayed with a group of 7 people at Quillhaven, we had some diverse needs and Carol accommodated us all with cheerfulness and aplomb. None of our requests seemed at all out of order, she was such a great hostess. The breakfasts were beautiful and bountiful and varied. She just provided a wonderful base for us to have our weekend, with space for all of us to hang out together. I'd definitely recommend it.

I had never been to a bed and breakfast before and I am now forever hooked! Everything was amazing! The Innkeepers were so friendly, the rooms made you feel like you were at home, and the breakfast was delicious!! We drove from Ohio to Pennsylvania and the fall foliage was breath taking. I urge anyone to try this B&B because it was absolutely delightful.

We have stayed in many B&B's over the years & Quill Haven has to be up there amongst the very best......if not the best.....! Whilst it is not the 'fanciest' B&B in the world, the owners are genuinely friendly (they don't just put on a face for their guests) & welcoming without being over the top. We loved the place it was comfortable and the hot tub hit the spot. We also appreciated the warm welcome and the yummy food.

My husband and I stayed for our 7th wedding anniversary. We have not been on a trip in years since our 4year old son was born. Carol greeted us with a warm smile and showed us to our room. I signed us up with the Run Away from Home package Carol offered and was greeted with beautiful red roses in our room. Also a part of the package was breakfast in bed. It was wonderful....no tea and toast but a gourmet breakfast! We also had a good time relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine. My husband and I did not know what to expect and staying at Quill Haven exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful time. The inn was really clean our room was beautiful, and the hospitality was wonderful!

A warm and welcoming reception from Carol as she greets you when you enter. She treats you like your a family member. Excellent rooms are available that are very clean & orderly. And a bathroom in every bedroom. The bed is as comfortable as a sleep number bed and with electric bed warmers. The food is fabulous! Carol gives you a lot of choices and options - you just can't help but to sample everything. It is very hard to decide what to eat with everything being so good.

Weekend getaway

Carol is one of the sweetest people I've met. She made us feel so special and right at home. Breakfast is to die for! And the rooms are beautiful and cozy. A real piece of Heaven.

The room was perfect, the food was perfect, and the service was perfect. Just what me and my wife needed after a week with the family!

We were there two nights and it was wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath was very clean. Breakfast was a different menu each day with lots of choices if you didn't want the main item. We choose the big breakfast and it was great. We would definitely return there.

Quill Haven is an outstanding BnB for the money. It is in a great location and Carol could not have been a better hostes. Her cooking rivals that of gourmet restaurants. Would highly suggest to anyone looking for a BnB near Sumerset.

Months before out stay we asked our daughter to reserve us a some nights at Quill Have Country Inn. We had been there before. Quill Haven is clean, the food is delicious and appealing, our Hostess Carol is a great conversationist, and our room offered both the Olympics on TV and a romantic getaway. One of the most important features of a good B&B is that snacks like fresh chocolate chip cookies and drinks are available for no extra charge. You never feel like your having a cut-rate experience. This is a restful, clean, friendly place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Quill Haven. The food was delicious, and all amenities are available in your room.

We wanted to stop overnight at a B&B near Falling Water and found a great little place at Quill Haven. As we pulled in, we were met by the Miller's younger son who happily took our bags and showed us in. The Miller family is warm and friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We enjoyed a glass of wine in their backyard, which has an impressive garden and was a nice place to relax after a long drive. In the morning, we took a 2 mile walk before breakfast along the woods and beautiful lake nearby. But, use bugspray if you do this in July...too many mosquitos. Breakfast was good and plentyful and the other guests were good conversationalists, so we left for Falling Water and Kentuck Knob well satisfied with our stay. If you're looking for a B&B in this area, Quill Haven is well worth the stay. -Rose Sherman

My husband and I were visiting the Somerset area for our 25th wedding anniversary and we stayed at the Quill Haven Country Inn for 3 days. We had a wonderful time. The rooms were beautifully decorated in keeping with the period of the house. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious. The Innkeepers were friendly and helpful. We plan to visit again in the future.

We certainly enjoyed our 2 nights at Quill Haven. Carol was a gracious hostess! The breaksfast were unbeatable - we would return for those alone! The location was perfect for us and we thoroughly enjoyed the Somerset area. When we return, we'll definitely stay at Quill Haven again!

Our first time at a b&b and we were very pleased. Lots of attention to detail and we felt very much at home there. Excellent food choices for breakfast and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and attractions.

The innkeeper is very friendly and welcoming as she escorts you to your room and provides a tour of the home. I felt like family as she checked in with me re:my comfort and stay. She attracts other very friendly and kind guests. We talked easily among ourselves especially after Carol (the innkeeper) introduced us to one another. All in all it was a great visit and one that I look forward to every year!

Quill Haven is a very spectacular B & B, a perfect place to stay, and what a wonderful breakfast - Carol !!! We look forward to returning soon.

Whenever we travel from Cincinnati to points east, we will go out of our way (sometimes driving an hour extra) to stay at Quill Haven! We stay here when traveling both directions, too! I recommend Quill Haven to ANYONE who is traveling along I-70. There should be a rating category for "Innkeeper Friendliness" on this site. Carol and Rowland would also rate an "outstanding." We have now stayed in every room available here, and none of them disappoint! We stayed in the "Bridal Suite" this last time, and it is now my favorite. The "Rose Room" has a king-sized bed which we like, too. The breakfast is beautifully served, and tasty. The people who stay here are always wonderful to talk to, too. This B&B represents the BEST in all categories of why we stay at B&Bs.

We had a wonderful stay at Quill Haven. It was like stopping to see family. The breakfasts were delicious and were served each day on a different place setting. This was a great stop on our way to visit Fallingwater.

We found this B&B a delightful place to spend an evening as we made our way through PA. It has a very convenient location right off the turnpike or you can get there using scenic back roads as we did. Highly recommend it.

A regular stop at the "Old Homestead" stomping grounds in western PA; best when one has an idea in advance to make a reservation. Always a first choice when accommodations are available. The host/owner always has great recommendations for local "things to do" and seasonal events--- good for all 4 seasons. Breakfast is always new, different, filling and a treat; it's possible to "place a breakfast order" the night before to see if the guerst can influnece the hostess' choice.

Friendly warm atmosphere. We have stayed twice and have found the quality to be consistent. You feel like you are staying with a family.

We stayed for a night to pick our kids up at a nearby camp and we will go back there every year! The host was gracious, personable and a good cook to boot! We had all the comforts of home, (except the clean-up) at a reasonable price. Great place to stay!!!

It is a fact that everything about our stay was outstanding. We stayed in the bridal suite for our 25th anniversary. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. On arrival we were greeting with a big smile by Rowland and made to feel welcome immediately. We were given the privacy we desired, but also enjoyed time spent the next morning at breakfast with Carol. The choice of the restaurant for dinner was just what we were seeking. The grounds are well maintained and relaxing. We would recommend the Quill Haven Country Inn to anyone who is looking for a great B&B experience at an outstanding value.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Quill Haven. Since most of my travel is for business, most of my stays are in chain hotels. Regardless of the number of stars, all lack true personal attention and sincere friendliness. Quill Haven was a treasure! My only regret was that I had only 1 night to stay. Hopefully my business or personal travels will bring me back!

We've stayed at the inn twice and both occasions were great. Atomsphere is very comfortable, rooms and public spaces are clean, maintained and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts are delicious, filling and unique. The innkeepers are quite friendly and it's just like returning to see old friends. Highly recommend this lovely inn.

This is our second visit to Quill Haven and it was fantastic. The rooms are so clean and every detail is taken care of from sweets on your pillow to chilled sodas and homemade cookies. The host and hostess and there family are the BEST-you feel like going home to moms except nobody has to help with the dishes.

This was our first say at a bed and breakfast so we weren't sure what to expect. Carol was a wonderful hostess with a great sense of humor, the ability to get the conversation going during an incredibly delicious breakfast, and had written directions ready to every attraction we were interested in. We will most certainly return and have already given Quill Haven information to friends looking for an affordable getaway that makes you feel well-rested when you leave.

Staying at the Quill Haven was like staying at "moms". Place was very clean and everything was taken care of for "you". Mom took care of everything including breakfast - and no nagging! Just Great!

Quill haven was an excellent choice. A beautiful and comfortable house with everything you could need. Our room was spotless and a good size with a large bathroom. Carol is very personable, and ready to help you out with any needs. Breakfasts were excellent, and there was always fresh fruit dishes and several juices to choose from. There were really no negatives...and I can be picky about B&B stays. You truely do feel at home here.

Really can not say enough good about our stay. Carol makes the Quill Haven a place you want to return to again and again. The two BEST features were the hot tub on a cool night and the corn flake crusted French toast for breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable. The location is great. We will definitely go back for another stay.

The windy, wintery weather could not alter the warm, welcoming atmosphere at this B&B. For a mother and son who love to take road trips, the downside of traveling is it leaves us weary and tired. We hit the road refreshed and content and thankful.

We had not seen our good friends for two years and wanted to find a half-way spot between their home in Ohio and ours in eastern Pennsylvania. We chose Somerset and in looking for a place to stay we found Quill Haven on the Internet. It turned out to be a perfect place for our needs and was equal to or less expensive than the area hotels. Carol welcomed us warmly and we were made to feel so comfortable. Because we had lots of “catching up” to do we spent much of our time in the library/sitting room. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were always available and even homemade cookies, as well as a bottle of wine. The breakfasts were wonderful! And so beautifully presented! We also had complete privacy as the family quarters are attached but separate from the B&B. We could not have chosen a better place to spend two days with friends! We highly recommend Quill Haven.

We loved our stay at Quill Haven Inn in Somerset. Carol met us upon our arrival and showed us to our lovely room, as well as orienting us to the common areas of the inn. The sitting room with it's well stocked bookshelves was a delight, as was the complimentary glass of wine. After dark, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub--a nice way to end the day before climbing into our very comfortable bed. The next morning, Carol prepared a fabulous breakfast, then painstakingly drew a map to ensure we could find our next destination. We're looking forward to our return visit to Somerset in July---and to staying at this lovely, hospitable inn again.

My teen-aged son and I stayed here on a trip from the east coast to the mid-west. This was my second bed & breakfast stay and his first! This inn is so lovely and the innkeepers are wonderful! They truly make you at home and feel like family, without being over-intrusive. The rooms are first-rate and the food out of this world. I would stay here anytime and my son had a great time also (which is quite a compliment, given the whims of teen-agers!) If you have the opportunity to stay in this area, please make sure you visit this wonderful inn!

This was my second visit to Quill Haven, but it was my husband's first B & B experience. I knew from my first visit that this would be a good introduction for him and we were certainly not disappointed. Carol Miller is a wonderful host and Quill Haven simply feels like "home". The decor is charming, comfortable, and clean, and her breakfasts are yummy. The grounds around the Inn are lovely too.

We found the best B&B the first try. Carol and Rowland make a wonderful team. Everything was tip-top inside and outside: from the first glance entering the driveway, coming onto the porch, or opening a closet. This was our first family vacation with our daughters and their family and we came back to their Dad's homeplace, it had been 24 years since they had been to Somerset. Our grandson enjoyed their sons which made our trip and stay even better. Such friendly guys, just like their parents. Oh, the food, ambience and many details that made us feel at home. We're already planning another trip from Florida and this will definitely be our home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay, we drove up Friday night and then went skiing the next day. I would definately recommend, and the breakfast was delicious.

There is only one word to describe our experience at Quill Haven.."AMAZING". It was absolutely beautiful and Carol's breakfast was to die for! We recommend it highly and will definitely return.

We only stayed overnight, but the greeting was great and the help with our suitcase was very helpful as my wife and I are both older. The room was wonderful and comfortable, the deacor was cute. In the morning every care was taken to see that the breakfast was done to perfection and the service was outstanding. Overall our stay was very nice and comfortable, we will be back!!!!!

We met some friends for the weekend at Quill Haven and had a wonderful time. The accommodation's and the food were fantastic. 5 stars all the way around.
