The perfect gift for every occasion

  • The front porch is a favorite place for guests to gather from Spring through Fall. The porch features a quiet nook for reading and day dreaming as well as a place to visit with other guests.
Our guests often begin their day with a quiet cup of coffee or tea on our gracious front porch. Later in the day guests gather here for easy conversation and afternoon snacks.
All of our guestrooms bear the name of an artist and like the Renoir feature the art of its namesake. Please peek into our other rooms on our website
The golden glow of the Mission furnished dining room sets the stage for a breakfast featuring the freshest of seasonal fruits from local farms
Our gardens are full of nooks and crannies, perfect for napping or curling up with a book. Breakfast is often served here as well on dewy summer mornings

    "Outstanding in Every Way!"

    May 10, 2013

Leo and Karen are truly committed to making your stay the best possible B&B experience possible. From the wonderful flowery aroma in your room after the daily cleaning to the charming bottle of wine waiting for you in your room, Potteiger House serves up atmosphere like nobody else. Marvelous breakfasts, a well-stocked beverage rack in their fridge you are invited to use, and you may find that the wealth of knowledge Leo has about the area attractions are better than any printed guide you can find. Leo, a charming man of numerous accomplishments, is a fabulous host and his lovely wife Karen bakes the most scrumptious cookies and muffins! Fresh fruit and fruit juice are part of every breakfast, as are tea and coffee (made to your preference- I like mine strong, and it was!). On weekends a hot breakfast is served, and it is happily modified to your request. You can't go wrong with Potteiger House. It is so chock-full of objects' d' art you could say it's a cross between museum and antique shop, almost like an art collector lives there. We will definitely be back to visit Leo and Karen again on our next trip to Central PA.

    Excellent value, charming!

    April 08, 2013

When first walking into the Potteiger house the décor was so unique and diverse, you could tell the owners put a lot of care and effort into the presentation. We loved our room, which was the Van Gogh room...especially the giant Jacuzzi bathtub! Our only complaint was that the bed was a little lumpy, but none-the-less, we slept soundly and awoke to a wonderful breakfast accompanied by interesting anecdotes from the owner, Leo, who was the perfect host. Not only do they welcome you to snacks, drinks, and home baked goods in their kitchen, but they also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine in our room! We definitely plan to return!

    Potteiger House February 2013

    February 19, 2013

Another wonderful stay in the Van Gogh room at the Potteiger House in Selinsgrove exceeded our expectations. The Van Gogh room is the front corner bedroom, whose spacious bathroom has double sinks, a nice large shower, and a soaking tub. The room itself is comfortable and attractive. Our perfect breakfast was broiled grapefruit and then French toast with strawberries. We love being so close to Selinsgrove shops and restaurants and just a short drive to Susquehanna University. Our hosts were their usual hospitable, friendly selves. We'll stay again the next time we're at Susquehanna for an event.

Leo and Karen are wonderful hosts and amazing people. The Potteiger House is a beautiful home, furnished with Leo's incredible photography and an array of antiques and other cool pieces. Breakfast (pumpkin spice pancakes) was delicious! A great place to stay in Selinsgrove.

This room was once a child's playroom where Ann Potteiger painted Noah's ark and a circus parade on opposing walls. Today several of her paintings adorn the walls. This room is furnished with an antique cottage bedroom suit which includes a double bed and two beautiful side pieces in original condition. Women travelers often request this room.

This beautiful room overlooking the side gardens has a four poster king sizes bed. In its ample bathroom sits an antique pedestal tub - the original Potteiger House bath tub and while it's great for bubble baths, we don't recommend this room for persons with a mobility challenge.

This single is just as popular with our guests in the spring and summer as it was with the Potteiger children and grandchildren. With windows on three sides the guest is immediately transported through time to the tree house of a faraway childhood. This room also has its own bath with appointments that its namesake would definitely have appreciated.

    Outstanding Stay!

    September 05, 2012

The star-system ratings are extremely poorly "explained" in that I had very high expectations, indeed, having stayed at this property before. Knowing what to expect, which was a phenominally decorated common area, lovely bedroom, delicious breakfast, art everywhere, and an "open" refreshment fridge, we happily booked another night at the Potteiger House. A big plus is the two-block walk to the Selin's Grove Brewery, a very popular ale house and restaurant. Our only disappointment was the "for sale" sign on the front lawn. We sure do hope that this lovely B&B stays just the way it is for future visits!

    Great room, sub-par breakfast

    August 30, 2012

Wonderful hosts, very nice property and a wonderful room. Breakfast was a little disapointing as it was only a continential and we have come to expect more from our other B&B experiences
