Absolutely charming B&B in central PA. Similar price to Selinsgrove Inn but much more interesting experience. Innkeepers very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was DELICIOUS! Very happy we chose this for our first night as a married couple.

We enjoyed 3 nights at Potteiger House while attending graduation weekend at Bucknell. The house is beautiful and elegant. Karen and Leo are warm and accommodating, and we would highly recommend.

The hosts were great and the house was full of lots of awesome antiques and collectibles. I am sad that we won't be able to visit again since it is closing.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before this one. We were absolutely delighted. From the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (my favorite) and bottle of wine in our room to the delicious breakfast lovingly prepared for us the next morning, we had a fabulous time. You have only a few days left to enjoy the splendor of this bed and breakfast so book it today!

My daughter and I stayed at Potteiger House while we attended her Summer Orientation at Susquehanna University. Karen & Leo are the Best. They make you feel at home and the goodies Karen bakes are delicious. Our room was spotless, as is the entire place. The house is decorated so incredibly that you see something new every time you walk through the living room, Dinning room and kitchen. The garden is beautiful, would loved to have spent more time in it,

Leo and Karen are truly committed to making your stay the best possible B&B experience possible. From the wonderful flowery aroma in your room after the daily cleaning to the charming bottle of wine waiting for you in your room, Potteiger House serves up atmosphere like nobody else. Marvelous breakfasts, a well-stocked beverage rack in their fridge you are invited to use, and you may find that the wealth of knowledge Leo has about the area attractions are better than any printed guide you can find. Leo, a charming man of numerous accomplishments, is a fabulous host and his lovely wife Karen bakes the most scrumptious cookies and muffins! Fresh fruit and fruit juice are part of every breakfast, as are tea and coffee (made to your preference- I like mine strong, and it was!). On weekends a hot breakfast is served, and it is happily modified to your request. You can't go wrong with Potteiger House. It is so chock-full of objects' d' art you could say it's a cross between museum and antique shop, almost like an art collector lives there. We will definitely be back to visit Leo and Karen again on our next trip to Central PA.

When first walking into the Potteiger house the décor was so unique and diverse, you could tell the owners put a lot of care and effort into the presentation. We loved our room, which was the Van Gogh room...especially the giant Jacuzzi bathtub! Our only complaint was that the bed was a little lumpy, but none-the-less, we slept soundly and awoke to a wonderful breakfast accompanied by interesting anecdotes from the owner, Leo, who was the perfect host. Not only do they welcome you to snacks, drinks, and home baked goods in their kitchen, but they also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine in our room! We definitely plan to return!

Another wonderful stay in the Van Gogh room at the Potteiger House in Selinsgrove exceeded our expectations. The Van Gogh room is the front corner bedroom, whose spacious bathroom has double sinks, a nice large shower, and a soaking tub. The room itself is comfortable and attractive. Our perfect breakfast was broiled grapefruit and then French toast with strawberries. We love being so close to Selinsgrove shops and restaurants and just a short drive to Susquehanna University. Our hosts were their usual hospitable, friendly selves. We'll stay again the next time we're at Susquehanna for an event.

Leo and Karen are wonderful hosts and amazing people. The Potteiger House is a beautiful home, furnished with Leo's incredible photography and an array of antiques and other cool pieces. Breakfast (pumpkin spice pancakes) was delicious! A great place to stay in Selinsgrove.

The star-system ratings are extremely poorly "explained" in that I had very high expectations, indeed, having stayed at this property before. Knowing what to expect, which was a phenominally decorated common area, lovely bedroom, delicious breakfast, art everywhere, and an "open" refreshment fridge, we happily booked another night at the Potteiger House. A big plus is the two-block walk to the Selin's Grove Brewery, a very popular ale house and restaurant. Our only disappointment was the "for sale" sign on the front lawn. We sure do hope that this lovely B&B stays just the way it is for future visits!

We stayed 2 nights at the Potteiger House while attending a local music festival. The room was great - comfortable & luxurious bed, windows overlooking the fantastic gardens out back, the private bath was very nice. Leo and Karen could not be more friendly and accommodating. Fresh baked cookies in the kitchen are a treat, and you can help yourself to bottled water, sodas, beer, & small bottles of wine. The breakfasts were lovely to look at and absolutely delicious to eat. The walls of the house are full of interesting art and photos. Leo and Karen are welcoming of everyone and create a warm and inclusive environment in their B&B. However, before you go, check to see if they are still the owners: they do have the place up for sale. Potteiger House is right in the middle of downtown Selinsgrove, and walking distance to shopping and dining, yet is on a quiet street and feels secluded. Selinsgrove is a beautiful little town in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania.

We chose Potteiger House for our first night as a married couple. We did not arrive until late that night, but the innkeepers were kind enough to let us stop by earlier in the day and have keys to get in whenever we chose to arrive. We stayed in the Van Gogh room -- highly recommend this! The bathroom is nearly the same size as the bedroom with a jacuzzi tub nestled into one wall amidst books, artwork, and candles! Perfect for relaxing. There was a bottle of champagne and bowl of chocolates waiting for us on the bed. The breakfast the next morning was a Pennsylvania Dutch recipe and made from scratch by Karen -- excellently delicious! No rush to check out either, and we had breakfast at the hour of our choosing. I hope whoever takes over this place continues in the same manner!! Make sure to look around at all of the beautiful artwork and collectibles.

My wife and I selected Potteiger House because of its proximity to the Selinsgrove Brewfest which we were attending. The hosts are very friendly and generous, but unfortunately are in the process of trying to sell the business after 20 years. I say unfortunately only because this means they may not be the hosts for much longer; they are certainly not slowing down in the services they provide!

My wife and I have stayed an many bed and breakfast throughout the world and have never felt so welcomed and comfortable as at the Potteiger House. From our welcoming upon our arrival until we bid goodbye Leo and Karen made us feel like family and their home was truly ours! The room and bath was clean, comfortable, spacious and incredibly decorated! The added touch of snacks and drinks in the kitchen was a nice bonus. Sitting on the porch and chatting with the other guest was an extremely way of relaxing and unwinding from the festivals activities. I highly recommend staying here and plan to return during each of the next three seasons.

Wonderful hosts, made us feel right at home. We were in town for a family reunion in Kreamer, so we didn't spend as much time relaxing at the B&B as we'd have liked, but we had 2 very comfortable nights. Only 2 suggestions for improvement: 1) move the air conditioner so it doesn't blow directly on the bed (Van Gogh Room), and 2) provide a box of tissues and some mini-shampoo bottles in the bathroom. Other than that, we loved it and will definitely consider staying there again if Leo and Karen don't sell the establishment by our next visit.

The Potteiger House,a very unique place to stay. So many things to look at all through the home and Leo's photography on the walls made our stay enjoyable! The garden was beautiful . The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Leo as our host, from preparing our breakfast and making us feel welcome, made our stay wonderful!

Selinsgrove is a picturesque town, great for walking and nearby scenic views of the river. We stayed in the Renoir room and couldn't have been happier. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and adorned with great photography, prints, and other art. The complimentary bottle of wine was a great touch, as is a loaded fridge and tasty snacks available in the kitchen 24/7. The hosts were gracious, friendly, and very accommodating even though we arrived a little later than expected. Breakfast was fantastic. We're already thinking about coming back, and would definitely recommend this to any of our friends and family traveling through the area. An absolutely great find!

Van gogh room, huge bath. Very nice room and impeccable service from Leo and Karen. Breakfast was great each day, the only downside was vacation wasn't long enough, wish we could have stayed longer. We have already made reservations for our next stay. Highly recommend this inn. Bill and Robin Connecticut

Conveniently located near Susquehanna University, this B & B is a real find. Just walking in the door, I began to relax with the scent of cinnamon apple .There are beautiful art books to browse and a kitchen with wine, cheese, tea or delicious cookies available whenever you need a snack. Rooms are comfortable ,beautifully decorated and charming.

We were greeted with our name and welcome attached to the entry door. OUr room was spacious with a nice motif and private bath. We were told to help ourselves to snacks and beverages in the kitchen (home made cookies, pretzels, soda, wine, beer). The breakfast was great, beginning with fruit and muffins, followed by tasty scrambled eggs and croissant. The host & hostess were friendly and made us feel welcome. I would recommend this bed & breakfast.

My wife and I stayed in the Van Gogh room. It was nicely decorated and had a huge bathroom with a whirlpool tub which was only big enough for one. The decor of the house was interesting with interesting knick-knacks and many pieces of contemporary art not for the conservative or faint of heart. There was a quiet porch off the living room, and a back porch/yard with a landscaped garden in the rear of the house which offered a few moments of peace. Leo, the host, greeted us at the door was was friendly and helpful. He carried our bags to our room, showed us a kitchen with a refrigerator full of complimentary beverages (soda, water, wine, beer), as well as light snacks, including homemade chocolate chip cookies which were outstanding. Breakfasts both mornings were simple (not cooked), but healthy with cereal, juice, coffee/tea, bagels, and fruit. The Susquehanna Valley is very scenic. We took a 5 minute bike ride to the Isle of Que and enjoyed the beauty of the Susquehanna River. There was a road along the river that offered relaxing views. Susquehanna University was also less than 1 mile away and was a very picturesque campus with an abundance of colonial architecture. With only summer classes is session, the campus was quiet and made for a nice walk, but they few folks we ran into were very friendly. The campus has been expanded for the better while retaining it's architectural character since I attended 1986-1990. One evening, we walked to BJ's restaurant, which is just one block away from the Potteiger House, and the food/drink was great! The 2nd night, we took a short 20 minute drive to Northumberland, PA to the Front Street Station (a restaurant in an old railroad station) and had their tasty crab cakes. Both restaurants were excellent in terms of quality of food, atmosphere, and service. Our stay was memorable, and we plan to return again next June to celebrate our 3rd anniversary!

The Potteiger House was lovely, but the number of collectables and antiques made us feel uncomfortably crowded. Also, if the innkeeper had the fireplace in the living room lit, it tricked the thermometer into thinking the whole house was warm, and our room was extremely cold. Our room was small, and dark, but very comfortable and the jacuzzi was great. The food was excellent and the innkeepers were very nice, and when we spoke to them about being cold, they were very obliging. Maybe not quite our taste, but a wonderful place.

I heard horror stories about the local hotels in Selinsgrove so I looked into B&B's instead. Glad I did. Had a wonderful stay at Potteiger house. B&B was very comfortable and cozy (helped that it was snowing outside!) and well located one block from local restaurants. Breakfast was amazing - baked apple, spinach and parmesian cheese omelet, pumpkin muffin, french press decaf coffee in a warm mug, etc., etc. Only down size was the potential for noise in the hallways as the wall are thin (old house). However on my stay there were only 2 other guests and I had no problem.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting your student at SU...an easy walk to campus and also to stores and restaurants in town. The inn is warmly and beautifully decorated with fine art collectables. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the decor a work of art. Leo and Karen are gracious hosts who keep the Inn meticulously clean and welcoming. The delicious breakfasts are beautifully presented and Karen introduces each and tells you about the ingredients. I'm still thinking about the delicious apple and cheddar quiche she made this weekend...YUM. You are always welcome to help yourself in the kitchen to drinks, homemade cookies, cheese, etc. I highly recommend this Inn and we will miss it when our son graduates from SU.

We were fortunate to come upon this bed and breakfast for our visit to Susquehanna University. It is most certainly more delightful to stay in downtown Selinsgrove in lieu of the chain motels on the Route 15 strip. The Potteiger House was delightfully warm and cozy. We were felt right at home with the innkeepers who made delicious breakfasts, brought coffee to our room, recommended sites to see, and did everything possible to make our stay relaxing. The inn is delightful. We would like to come back during the spring to see the extensive gardens in full bloom. We will recommend this inn to everyone.
