The Inn Between B&B is an urban retreat of relaxed elegance in historic University City. We cherish a casual traveler and specialize in longer term stays. With its original layout, numerous period details and antiques this Victorian residence still provides a fair glimpse into the life of bygone eras. Overall ambiance is harmonized with oriental and modern collectible pieces while the amenities are modern [wireless throughout] and geared towards meeting the guest's individual needs. To remind, these are romantic and romantically inclined spaces! The property is located within walking distance from the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Left Bank Medical facilities and it is just a short ride away from downtown Philadelphia with the Convention Center, Penns Landing, Old City, Rittenhouse Square, etc. A personal collection of antique rugs, textiles, various ethnic and fine arts is displayed throughout the residence. It is all about understanding and cherishing 'in betweens' - cultural, professional, stylistic, and personal - about understanding the journey.
The original Master bedroom suite consists of the elegant bedroom with its sitting room [nursery/dressing room] and a private bath with original fixtures including stain glass windows and oversized claw foot bath tub. Mahogany bedroom set with queen size bed was shipped from China after the owners' wedding trip there. It sits between a deep burgundy large Victorian pattern wall covering on one side and a dusty pink hand made oriental silk grass cloth wall covering on the other facing triple mirror doors built-in closet.
The queen size antique metal frame bed is enveloped by happy blues: dusty medium blue walls and high quality linen, blue-black federal style desk and dresser with gold details, and lightened up by bright yellow 'Barcelona' seat and - yes, a few oriental carpets. It borrows the view of the well tended gardens within the block. Fresh flowers, TV, CD player. Kitchenette on the floor.
The 'Westward Essence', with double bed, is a rhapsody in creams looking West onto a tree lined block of grand Victorians. It has a double bed, matching mirrored desk [psyche] and dresser, built-in 'seat' and a wardrobe with double mirrored doors cheered up with two oriental rugs. Fresh flowers, TV.
This is a quiet, small suite on the top floor; the bedroom has a full size bed with commanding antique brass headboard against a white and gold striped wall covering and soothing grass cloth surfaces. The sitting room/office has a writing desk, day bed and 'thinking' armchair. There are bookshelves in both rooms. Elevated, light filled and peaceful. Fresh flowers, TV, kitchenette.
The 'Escape' is a generous space with its own modern ensuite bathroom and sitting area. Perched above surrounding buildings, the 'Escape' is a light filled treat carefully designed in simple lines and rich tones. Fresh flowers, quality linens and bedding, side light-well, flat screen TV, DVD player, extra storage space. Use of small kitchen on the floor.
Master Bedroom, master bath, dressing room, living room with fireplace, stained gless windows and details...
Lots of light filled. invigorating room space, two bathrooms, office, kitchenette, extra storage space.
The "Middle Room" or the "Library" with full size bed completes the floor of the Family Suite which consists of the Blue Garden Westward Essence kitchen bath.

We were fortunate to spend two nights here....The Inn was much more then we expected....The innkeeper, Ana, made us feel like it was our home. We were treated exceptionally well and were treated like we her family. What ever we wanted or needed, Ana was there to make sure our stay was first class. The Inn is walking distance to a fantastic Lebanese restaurant, Manakeesh. (which I strongly recommend, for their hot tea and meals) After staying at many hotels and places in Philly, this is a keeper......(a hidden gem) and very easy to pick up cab and head to the City.....

We enjoyed staying here quite a bit. The house is very cool and full of interesting decorations. Very old, in a good and interesting way. The neighborhood is cool, and it has a great front porch for relaxation. Ana was very kind and helpful, and even willing to put in an a/c and buy a fan for us.
Thank you very much, You were sweet and easy guests. It was only that you were here in May, right around the Penn graduation, which is when we normally still don't have the air conditioners customarily up and running. Of course, they could be put up if needed before the 'official' air cooling season. Also, the fan for the small room of the Writers' Choice, was also fairly at hand. I sure was ready to get another one, if it was needed. Just thought it might be useful to clarify.

An unanticipated treat... Close to transportation, lovely hostess, accommodated my food allergies, and just beautiful as it is restored to its former glory....original stained glass windows, spectacular molding, interesting Asian accents. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A lovely B&B in one of Philadelphia's great neighborhoods. Historic residence, beautifully built and decorated, with dark wood and stained glass doors and trim. Ana is a charming host. She is also an architect and always has interesting guests. Close to the universities and downtown, on a beautiful street with bistros, restaurants, and great shops nearby. I have been here many times and keep coming back.

We had very nice stay. Cozy house with friendly hostess and warm atmosphere in the good, quiet location but pretty close to central area(by public transportation). Free parking on the street, light tasty breakfast in the morning make this place wonderful for stay.
