Can't go wrong

We found Harvest Moon via a LivingSocial deal and were very pleased. We stayed in th e Braeburn room which was very comfortable - a plush king bed with an upstairs living room and HUGE bathroom with jacuzzi tub, The owner Carl is very informative and friendly, we enjoyed just chatting with him - plus he makes fabulous breakfasts and cookies to enjoy daily.

A Charming weekend

4.8 on January 13, 2014

We LOVED our stay at the Harvest Moon. It's charm matched the beauty and quaint feel of Lancaster. Carl not only fed us exquisite food, beyond anything we had hoped for (do NOT pass up his pistachio muffins, or cranberry French Toast) but he also gave us great info concerning the area. He lead us to fine dining, shopping, and a delightful small town theater. Our November based on a wedding stay was a bit cool. We hope to come back in warmer weather or in time for fall colors. When we do, we'll stay here again! The Nielsen's from Utah

What an awesome weekend we had! The Harvest Moon bed and breakfast is fantastic. The breakfast was out of this world. Carl is an amazing inn keeper and it eas really really nice. Wonderfully decorated and the rooms were so clean and peaceful. We will definatly be staying there next time. Thank you again Carl for everything we had a lovely and much needed relaxing weekend for my birthday!

New Year's Eve Murder Mystery

5 on January 02, 2013

Although we were unable to stay at the Harvest Moon (they were booked up!!), we participated in the NYE Murder Mystery. I used one of the guest rooms for a restroom. The decor is so charming and perfect for an old, quaint, Lancaster County B&B. The front parlor was decorated impeccably with holiday items from years past. The bubble lights on the Christmas tree took me back to my childhood. Carl (the owner/chef/cleaning person) is fabulous and extremely helpful. He even called other hotels to try to find us a place to stay. He recommended great restaurants for dinner and was all around extremely welcoming. His love of being an owner/chef shines through in everything he does. The strawberry french toast for breakfast was AMAZING!!!

Best place to stay on an Amish vacation !

5 on August 21, 2012

We wanted to stay near the real backroads in Amish community. There were touristy motels nearby but that would feel less welcoming. The Harvest Moon feels like a house not a business. The front entry is into a sitting space next to a Main Street view that extends into the dining space with three individual tables for guests to have an extremely delectable breakfast ! Best place I've stayed in many years having been to homes in Mexico & Europe !

I have visited the Harvest Moon BB three times

5 on June 08, 2012

My wife and I have been to the Harvest Moon on three separate occasions. On each visit we have participated in a pre-planned weekend, two wine and cheese tours and an Italian cooking weekend. The planned weekends are just great! Well planned, fun and the right amount of time to relax. If you are looking for a great weekend experience you will really enjoy a wine a cheese weekend with Karl. The weekend will include tours of cheese farms and wineries throughout the area. I guarantee you will learn something and remember to take notes for the quiz at dinner.

Great Bed and Breakfast

4.6 on June 06, 2012

Harvest Moon was a wonderful and inviting Bed and Breakfast. My sister took me as a birthday present and we did the "Bella Luna Weekend" . It was wonderful. Besides Carl and Marlies genuinly nice people and great Inn keepers Carl is a wonderful chef and we had so much fun cooking and learning wonderful new recipes. Breakfast was delicous every morning. I can't wait to take my husband to Harvest Moon.

Why We Love The Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast

4.0 on October 14, 2011

My wife and I are regular B & B'ers. We have taken two week bed and breakfast trips as far away as northern Wisconsin; throughout New England: and also New Mexico & Arizona. We have stayed at the Harvest Moon 5 times in the past 5 years. We either stay in the Braeburn or the Gala rooms which are both duplexes. Every time we make our almost annual trip from NYC to the Lancaster / Amish country area, we stay with Carl. He knows the area inside and out and always directs us to some new activity that just broadens our love for the area. We have many regular things we do every time we visit which includes Wilburs Buds & the Pretzel Factory in Lititz; the outlets in Lancaster, eating at one of the huge Buffets in town, our favorite restaurant Lily's on Main in Ephrata. Carl always suggests something new and interesting to do or see. One trip was to buy soap made by an Amish woman out of her house. The first time there she was not even around and had a note of the prices and to just please leave the money, which of course we did. As both of us are lifetime NYC'ers this was so refreshing. As to the Harvest Moon, to awaken to an amazing breakfast each morning of our stays cooked with great love and care by Carl is an amazing way to begin our day. We then usually sit and chat with any of the guests and Carl before we head out. Whenever we come back there are always home made goodies awaiting us. The two rooms we have stayed in we just adore for their comfort and ease of both doing our own things. I could go on and on but to finish up, we wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Lancaster area and are looking forward to our next visit even before we leave. We both wholeheartedly recommend Carl's Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast to anyone looking to get away for a night or more and wanting to be taken care of in such a gracious, welcoming manner. We look forward to maybe getting back before 2011 ends maybe even to enjoy The Murder Mystery on New Year's eve.

Wonderful hosts, wonderful food

This was our first visit to Lancaster county. Carl did an excellent job pointing us in all the right directions to experience the food and culture of the area and provided background info as well as his infamous delicious breakfasts (different treat every morning) and tips on cooking. He and his wife were so down to earth and fun to talk to. We enjoyed our stay here very much. We will be back for more!! Kim and Jeff
