We found Harvest Moon via a LivingSocial deal and were very pleased. We stayed in th e Braeburn room which was very comfortable - a plush king bed with an upstairs living room and HUGE bathroom with jacuzzi tub, The owner Carl is very informative and friendly, we enjoyed just chatting with him - plus he makes fabulous breakfasts and cookies to enjoy daily.

We LOVED our stay at the Harvest Moon. It's charm matched the beauty and quaint feel of Lancaster. Carl not only fed us exquisite food, beyond anything we had hoped for (do NOT pass up his pistachio muffins, or cranberry French Toast) but he also gave us great info concerning the area. He lead us to fine dining, shopping, and a delightful small town theater. Our November based on a wedding stay was a bit cool. We hope to come back in warmer weather or in time for fall colors. When we do, we'll stay here again! The Nielsen's from Utah

What an awesome weekend we had! The Harvest Moon bed and breakfast is fantastic. The breakfast was out of this world. Carl is an amazing inn keeper and it eas really really nice. Wonderfully decorated and the rooms were so clean and peaceful. We will definatly be staying there next time. Thank you again Carl for everything we had a lovely and much needed relaxing weekend for my birthday!

Although we were unable to stay at the Harvest Moon (they were booked up!!), we participated in the NYE Murder Mystery. I used one of the guest rooms for a restroom. The decor is so charming and perfect for an old, quaint, Lancaster County B&B. The front parlor was decorated impeccably with holiday items from years past. The bubble lights on the Christmas tree took me back to my childhood. Carl (the owner/chef/cleaning person) is fabulous and extremely helpful. He even called other hotels to try to find us a place to stay. He recommended great restaurants for dinner and was all around extremely welcoming. His love of being an owner/chef shines through in everything he does. The strawberry french toast for breakfast was AMAZING!!!

We wanted to stay near the real backroads in Amish community. There were touristy motels nearby but that would feel less welcoming. The Harvest Moon feels like a house not a business. The front entry is into a sitting space next to a Main Street view that extends into the dining space with three individual tables for guests to have an extremely delectable breakfast ! Best place I've stayed in many years having been to homes in Mexico & Europe !

My wife and I have been to the Harvest Moon on three separate occasions. On each visit we have participated in a pre-planned weekend, two wine and cheese tours and an Italian cooking weekend. The planned weekends are just great! Well planned, fun and the right amount of time to relax. If you are looking for a great weekend experience you will really enjoy a wine a cheese weekend with Karl. The weekend will include tours of cheese farms and wineries throughout the area. I guarantee you will learn something and remember to take notes for the quiz at dinner.

Harvest Moon was a wonderful and inviting Bed and Breakfast. My sister took me as a birthday present and we did the "Bella Luna Weekend" . It was wonderful. Besides Carl and Marlies genuinly nice people and great Inn keepers Carl is a wonderful chef and we had so much fun cooking and learning wonderful new recipes. Breakfast was delicous every morning. I can't wait to take my husband to Harvest Moon.

My wife and I are regular B & B'ers. We have taken two week bed and breakfast trips as far away as northern Wisconsin; throughout New England: and also New Mexico & Arizona. We have stayed at the Harvest Moon 5 times in the past 5 years. We either stay in the Braeburn or the Gala rooms which are both duplexes. Every time we make our almost annual trip from NYC to the Lancaster / Amish country area, we stay with Carl. He knows the area inside and out and always directs us to some new activity that just broadens our love for the area. We have many regular things we do every time we visit which includes Wilburs Buds & the Pretzel Factory in Lititz; the outlets in Lancaster, eating at one of the huge Buffets in town, our favorite restaurant Lily's on Main in Ephrata. Carl always suggests something new and interesting to do or see. One trip was to buy soap made by an Amish woman out of her house. The first time there she was not even around and had a note of the prices and to just please leave the money, which of course we did. As both of us are lifetime NYC'ers this was so refreshing. As to the Harvest Moon, to awaken to an amazing breakfast each morning of our stays cooked with great love and care by Carl is an amazing way to begin our day. We then usually sit and chat with any of the guests and Carl before we head out. Whenever we come back there are always home made goodies awaiting us. The two rooms we have stayed in we just adore for their comfort and ease of both doing our own things. I could go on and on but to finish up, we wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Lancaster area and are looking forward to our next visit even before we leave. We both wholeheartedly recommend Carl's Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast to anyone looking to get away for a night or more and wanting to be taken care of in such a gracious, welcoming manner. We look forward to maybe getting back before 2011 ends maybe even to enjoy The Murder Mystery on New Year's eve.

This was our first visit to Lancaster county. Carl did an excellent job pointing us in all the right directions to experience the food and culture of the area and provided background info as well as his infamous delicious breakfasts (different treat every morning) and tips on cooking. He and his wife were so down to earth and fun to talk to. We enjoyed our stay here very much. We will be back for more!! Kim and Jeff

We are returning guest to the Harvest Moon B&B since 2003. We have always had a delightful visit, have a great nights rest, delicious breakfast and the inn keepers, Carl and Marlies. make you feel so much at home. Our favorite room is the Macintosh but we like to call it "The little cottage". What a great room to relax and enjoy a peaceful sleep. The front porch is a step back in time while rocking in your chair watching the Amish buggies make their daily trip to the markets. The back lawn is adorned with many colorful gardens that are so pleasing to the eye. Make sure you come hungry to the breakfast table. So many fresh fruits, warm breakfast cobblers, assorted meats and eggs...everything is so yummy! As we enter the parking lot to the Harvest Moon B&B we know we are in our second home. We highly recommend a visit to the Harvest Moon B&B.

harvest Moon B & B is fantastic. Great very clean rooms, great breakfast, great folks taking care of me! Bedroom has very plush blankets, fridge, free wifi, excellent off-street parking. Gourmet breakfast, such as: french toast with gooseberry jam, local sausage, omelet with local cheese and herbs, apple crisp, amish breads, herbal teas. Definitely will be staying there next time visiting family. Would recommend this place!

Carl and family were extremely accomodating, even with gluten free foods for my wife who has Celiacs Disease. if you are going to stay anywhere near Lancaster, this is THE BEST!!! The rooms are awesome, breakfast is like no other, and the Innkeeper seems like he'll be a friend for life! Thanx for a WONDERFUL time!

My wife and I stayed here with my parents for a weekend. Carl, the inn keeper was fantastic. He is an amazing cook and is extremely accommodating. The home itself was perfect, comfortable and extremely clean. This was the first time my parents had ever stayed at a B&B, they had such a great time and are looking forward to their next trip. My wife and I would definitely return, we had such a great time.

My wife and her parents truely enjoyed our stay. Carl and his family were so nice. The food inthe area is good, but the food at the Havestmoon was awesome. Carl prepared some delightful breakfast dishes. Maybe you can get delicacies elsewhere, but you could never get the way Carl prepared them. You see, generally, my wife has to forego those delicacies because of her food allergies, she even has trouble cooking for herself, yet Carl took her allergies into considerations and prepared the tasiest meals without the use of wheat, egg and milk. He is quite a chef. The beds were more than comfortable and the house is beautiful and clean. There is a family atmosphere at the Harvestmoon. Staying at the Harvestmoon made for the best vacation we have had. The room rates are very reasonable. It is centrally located, with many attractions just a few minutes away. Carl is very knowledgeable and willing to take time telling about the area and the activities in the surrounding communities. Thank you, Carl! Mike, Donna, Matt, J.K., and Shirley

Great place and great prices...very hard to come by nowadays. I went for New years with my partner and we were more than pleased with out experience. Carl was extremely helpful and you can tell that he enjoys what he does. Quiet, perfect for a romantic getaway. Great size rooms (especially the Braeburn room) and breakfast is fresh and filling.

Owner has formal culinary training which makes for unforgettable breakfast including poached egg on homemade crustini with parmiagana cheese, and french toast with banana cinnamon topping, fresh organic teas, etc. The rooms were roomy and bedding very comfortable-including premium down comforter to fight off the winter cold. The decor was beautiful and we felt extremely at home and safe here. We will definately be back to stay again when we're in the area.

I was at Harvest Moon before my 2 kids were born...a couple of years ago now. We were actually celebrating my 1st pregnancy. We had a beautiful room with a 2nd floor area with a futon and a tv, very spacious. The bath was on the 2nd floor as well and it had a great jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was special...the food was great! The owner even made home made scrapple for my Philly born husband. He loved it! Someday we hope to get back to the Harvest Moon, its a great place to stay.

We have stayed at this outstanding B&B more times than what I can count on all ten of my fingers, and all ten of my toes. Karl and his family has made us feel at home with each visit. He tries to make a different breakfast each time we stay there. Not only is Karl an outstanding chef, but he is there to help anyone who needs assistance. The Harvest Moon is a place where a person is transported back into time. We receive a thrill when we hear the clip-clop of the hooves of the horses as they pass by. And we find interesting the people who belong to a sect of people who ride their bicycles; the young, even the elderly (the Joe Wenger Mennonites). Lancaster is a wonderful city to visit; it's a quick journey by Rte. 222. All-in-all, the Harvest Moon is a wonderful place to relax. It's highly recommended. Oh, and may I also recommend his cooking demonstrations, as well as the various tours he offers!

My husband and I returned to Harvest Moon B&B because we enjoyed our first visit so much. It feels like you've dropped in on your "fun" relatives. Food is delicious and well presented. We will return because we love the people and the service.

Our rooms were so comfortable that you barely wanted to leave to see the sights of beautiful Lancaster. The service we received was outstanding. Karl could not do enough to make us feel at home. The price for our 4 days was more than reasonable when we considered the amount of fun and pleasure we had while we were staying at this wonderful inn Spotless, absolutely spotless. Just like I like it. Our dining experience was an adventure at every seating. Our anticipation would build as we coldn't imagine how Karl would excite our taste buds with each new plate. Presentation was incredible. I can't wait to go back again and again and again. Although, I have a feeling if I tell too many people how great my visit was, I may not be able to get a reservation because all of my friends will be there.

What a wonderful time we has while staying at the Harvest Moon B&B. Our room was so cozy, clean and relaxing. The breakfast served each morning was delicious and the memories of the food that was prepared will be savored for a long time. From sitting on the front porch listening to the clip clop of the horse and buggies to finding true treasures in the many antique shops we will continue to return for a lovely visit each year at the Harvest Moon B&B. Thank you Carl, Marlies and children for blessing our lives!
